Optical Classification Of An Urbanized Estuary Using Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Reflectance, Kyle J. Turner, Maria Tzortziou, Brice K. Grunert, Joaquim Goes, Jonathan Sherman

Biological, Geological, and Environmental Faculty Publications

Optical water classification based on remote sensing reflectance (Rrs(.)) data can provide insight into water components driving optical variability and inform the development and application of bio-optical algorithms in complex aquatic systems. In this study, we use an in situ dataset consisting of hyperspectral Rrs(.) and other biogeochemical and optical parameters collected over nearly five years across a heavily urbanized estuary, the Long Island Sound (LIS), east of New York City, USA, to optically classify LIS waters based on Rrs(.) spectral shape. We investigate the similarities and differences of discrete groupings (k-means clustering) and continuous spectral indexing using the Apparent …

Michigan COVID-19 Outbreak Reports

The Outbreak Data page was obtained from Michigan's COVID-19 data page: https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/stats/outbreak-reporting.

This report is created by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services from data self-reported by local health departments. Data is updated every week.

COVID-19 outbreaks are generally defined as two or more cases with a link by place and time indicating a shared exposure outside of a household. Local health departments report the number of new and ongoing outbreaks they are investigating by the setting of the outbreak. Jitney Nov 2022

Jitney

Theatre and Performance Studies Programs

It is 1977 in a Black neighborhood of Pittsburgh known as the Hill District. Drivers of unlicensed cabs (jitneys) fight for love, survival, and respect as the powers-that-be threaten to close down their garage in the name of neighborhood improvement.

Though Jitney is one of August Wilson’s first plays, it was the last of his 10-play American Century Cycle to premiere on Broadway. Using Wilson’s characteristically rich language, Jitney explores what happens when tempers flare, potent secrets are revealed, and the fragile threads that bind people together threaten to come undone.

Location Heartbleeding: The Rise Of Wi-Fi Spoofing Attack Via Geolocation Api, Xiao Han, Junjie Xiong, Wenbo Shen, Zhuo Lu, Yao Liu

Computer Science Faculty Research & Creative Works

Location spoofing attack deceiving a Wi-Fi positioning system has been studied for over a decade. However, it has been challenging to construct a practical spoofing attack in urban areas with dense coverage of legitimate Wi-Fi APs. This paper identifies the vulnerability of the Google Geolocation API, which returns the location of a mobile device based on the information of the Wi-Fi access points that the device can detect. We show that this vulnerability can be exploited by the attacker to reveal the black-box localization algorithms adopted by the Google Wi-Fi positioning system and easily launch the location spoofing attack in …

United States Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services: Staff Publications

OBJECTIVE To evaluate efficacy of a novel vaccine against rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus 2 (RHDV2) in domestic rabbits.

ANIMALS 40 New Zealand White rabbits obtained from a commercial breeder.

PROCEDURES Rabbits were vaccinated and held at the production facility for the duration of the vaccination phase and transferred to Colorado State University for challenge with RHDV2. Rabbits were challenged with oral suspensions containing infectious virus and monitored for clinical disease for up to 10 days. Rabbits that died or were euthanized following infection were necropsied, and livers were evaluated for viral RNA via RT-PCR.

RESULTS None of the vaccinated animals …
