A study of (46) patients, suffering from cataract disease was done in the Ophthalmology Department of Al-Jamhori Teaching Hospital, Babylon Governorate for the period from May - August 2008. Their ages FROM ranged from (30 -79) years old.(13) suffering from diabetes, (10) hypertension, (11) diabetes with hypertension, and (12) suffering from cataract only used as a control group. The study was undertaken from April to September 2007 to detect occurrence of Salmonella serotypes in Euphrates river water and its correlation with two indicator organisms (FC & FE) of water contamination. Three stations for study were selected on the river at Al-Nassyriya and one on sewage effluent. Desmoid tumors are slow growing deep fibromatoses with aggressive infiltration of adjacent tissue but without any metastatic potential.We report on two female patients with desmoid tumor of the abdominal wall who underwent primary resection and proline mesh repair. Bothpatients had a history of an earlier abdominal surgery. Preoperative evaluation included abdominal ultrasound,and computed tomography. The histology in both cases revealed a desmoid tumor.Complete surgical resection and proline mesh repair is the first line management of this tumor entity.

We report on an infant with a parasitic third limb attached to the back at thoracolumber area , in whom male genitalia was found . This study attempts to determine the protective level of antibodies against hepatitis B surface antigen among vaccinated and unvaccinated children in Al-Diawynia city, age ranging 1- 10 year. A total of 220 blood samples have been collected and tested for detection of serological markers of hepatitis B virus (HBsAg, anti-HBs and anti- HBc). They included 150 children represented the vaccinated group and 70 children represented the unvaccinated group. Prevalence of anti-HBs was higher in vaccinated children 67.3% than in unvaccinated children 3.3%. Anti-HBc was not found in vaccinated children, while 4.2% in unvaccinated children. The present study was conducted in the obstetric hospital in the number of infected neonatal by congenital malformations in the period extend among October , November and December in the year of 1999 . The results of our study showed that percentage of bacterial contamination in operating rooms was (66.2%) before disinfection method, and after disinfection method was (47.5%). High contamination percentage (100%) was in room floor covers and was decreased to (60%) after disinfectant. The lowest percentage of contamination (1%) was in surgical instruments and disappeared after disinfectant. The percentage of contamination in disinfectants and antiseptics was (55%), high contamination percentage (75%) was in Chloroxylenol (Dettol) whereas the owest (25%) was in Formalin.

Across-sectional study was done to know the patterns of antimicrobial Susceptibility test of isolated uropathogens among pregnant women attending the Department of Gynaecology/Obstetric at the maternity&Child Teaching Hospital in Najaf Governorate.The study was conducted during the period between August 2006 to August 2007 .The study showed that 28%of pregnant women whom complained of signs & symptoms of urinary tract mfection (UTI) had a positive cultural result .The predominant pathogen was E.coli (44%) with high susceptibility test result to cefotaxim , ciprofloxacin , amikacin, and a high resistant rate to trimethoprim/ sulfamethoxazole & ampicillin.

This study included five Iraqi families from four provinces, many members who suffered from congenital fragile X chromosome. Five family pedigrees were drawn up very clearly to follow the pattern of fragile X chromosome. The study showed that there is marked discrepancy in the sex ratio, with only boys affected.
