Literary Works On Turkish Captives On Nargin Island, Arş. Gör. Dr. Orhan Baldane

In this study, firstly basic information about Nargin Island was given and then literary works that took the subject of captivity on Nargin Island were evaluated. As a result of our survey, 26 works in 5 different literary genres were identified in which the events on Nargin Island were the main subject or an important sub-theme within the plot. These works written in the genres of novel, poetry, theater, memoirs and diary, were published 12 in Azerbaijan and 14 in Türkiye. This study examines the historical impact and representation of the Hephthalites in the context of the Vahaneanc uprising (482-484), a Christian rebellion against Sasanian rule in South Caucasia, as described in the work of Ğazar Pʿarpetsʿi, a 5th-century Armenian historian. Pʿarpetsʿi’s records of the events have been evaluated in comparison with other primary historical sources and attempted to be understood within the historical context of the period. The underrepresentation of minority athletic trainers remains a critical issue, affecting both the profession and the quality of patient care. While patient demographics continue to diversify, the athletic training workforce has not kept pace, leading to potential communication barriers, mistrust, and inadequate culturally competent care. This review examines whether culturally tailored mentorship programs and targeted recruitment initiatives improve retention, career satisfaction, and diversity in athletic training compared to standard methods. This descriptive-phenomenological study examined the role of mentorship in shaping identity. There is limited literature that examines mentorship as an identity-shaping process among Black queer men (BQM). Intersectional and Black queer theory provided the theoretical framework for thematic analysis.

Within the workplace, BQM must negotiate the effects of double marginalization resulting from racism and anti-queer biases. The effects of racism and anti-queer biases can lead to adverse psychological and physical health outcomes, negatively impacting the careers of Black and queer individuals. Accurate crowd counting remains a major challenge in computer vision due to perspective distortion, background clutter, occlusion, and poor illumination, which degrade feature representation and limit model generalization. This study introduces a robust and well-structured approach that integrates hybrid attention mechanisms with curriculum learning to enhance accuracy and stability in complex crowd scenarios. Gamma correction and CLAHE preprocessing enhance image visibility, facilitating the reliable detection of small and distant individuals under challenging lighting conditions. Despite low church attendance, majorities say they believe in God or a supernatural entity and heaven or some type of afterlife, and just over half believe religion has a positive impact on society. Interlanguage fossilization represents a common phenomenon in Foreign/Second language acquisition. The current study attempted to investigate the students’ writing compositions to reveal if interlanguage fossilization occurred or not. A diagnostic test has been used to collect the data. A sample of this study was chosen randomly from 20 EFL students of the sixth year preparatory schools in the academic year (2023-2024). The findings of this study displayed that two kinds of interlanguage fossilization are found and achieved by students. Morphological fossilization and syntactical fossilization. This study examines the impact of a visual arts–based training program on reducing negative behaviors and enhancing selected skills among children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). An experimental pretest–posttest design was employed with a sample of 20 children: 10 with moderate autism (mean age = 10 years) and 10 with mild autism (mean age = 6.5 years). The intervention included structured visual arts activities such as drawing, coloring, and clay modeling, which served as nonverbal communication tools to support emotional expression, attention, and social interaction. This study aims to identify the challenges faced by senior high school students in writing argumentative texts and to analyze the effectiveness of the Process Genre approach and peer feedback in improving argumentative writing skills. This research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing 10 scholarly articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings indicate that students encounter several challenges, including cognitive, structural, linguistic, digital literacy, and metacognitive barriers, which affect the development of arguments and overall coherence of writing. International Arab Journal of Dentistry

Objectives: This study evaluated MMP-8 and VEGF-Alpha expression in rat dental pulp inflammation after application of bioactive calcium silicate combined with blood cockle shell extract.

Methods: Forty mandibular incisors were randomly assigned to four groups: 100% bioactive calcium silicate (control) and three treatment groups containing 25%, 50%, or 75% shell extract with the remainder calcium silicate. Direct pulp capping was performed, and samples were collected on days 1, 3, 7, and 14.

Results: Immunohistochemistry and one-way ANOVA revealed significant differences in MMP-8 expression on days 1 and 3, and VEGF-Alpha expression across all time points (p < 0.05). The 75% shell extract group showed the lowest MMP-8 and highest VEGF-Alpha expression.
