Neutrosophic Systems with Applications

This paper introduces a novel graph-theoretic framework, called the double-valued complex neutrosophic graph, as an extension of double-valued neutrosophic set theory. Within this framework, we investigate several important classes of such graphs, including self-complementary, strong, and full double-valued complex neutrosophic graphs, and establish a number of their fundamental properties. To clarify the proposed concepts and demonstrate their structural behavior, several relevant illustrative examples are also provided.

This study evaluates UAVs for forest fire management, addressing the challenges posed by ambiguous and uncertain factors. Single-valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs) are employed to model complex uncertainties, as they incorporate three distinct membership values: false, true, and indeterminate. Background: Balint groups have been widely implemented to support medical training in many countries. However, no empirical study has yet been conducted in Taiwan to evaluate their effectiveness.

Methods: An introductory presentation on Balint groups was held at a medical center in southern Taiwan, followed by a survey assessing attendees' perceptions and attitudes toward Balint work. Subsequently, a six-session Balint group was offered to healthcare professionals who volunteered to participate. All participants completed the 25-item Resilience Scale before and after the intervention. Thematic analysis was employed to analyze qualitative data.

Competency-based medical education (CBME) has reshaped physician training, yet system-level implementation in allied health professions is rarely described. In this Perspective, we examine Taiwan's decade-long national reform of medical radiation technologist (MRT) education led by the Taiwan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (TAMRT) and distill lessons for system-level CBME. Beginning in 2012, TAMRT adapted the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) core competencies and introduced workplace-based assessments across diagnostic radiography, radiation therapy, and nuclear medicine. Early national accreditation cycles revealed persistent variability in assessment quality and highlighted the limitations of time-based advancement. During early development, embryos undergo the maternal-to-zygotic transition (MZT), when control of development shifts from maternal factors to the newly activated zygotic genome. Decades of studies in various model organisms suggest that the nucleocytoplasmic (N/C) ratio is a key regulator of zygotic genome activation (ZGA), though this relationship is more nuanced in some organisms than others. Changing the nuclear content, nucleus size or cell size has been shown to shift the timing of ZGA. Convergence and extension (C&E) cell movements that elongate the primary embryonic axis are precisely timed during vertebrate gastrulation, but mechanisms controlling their onset remain unknown. Using zebrafish embryonic explants that recapitulate C&E and its timing, we identified sulfatase modifying factor 2 (sumf2) as a candidate trigger gene for C&E onset. sumf2 and its paralog sumf1 encode negative and positive sulfatase regulators, respectively, whose expression levels invert and increase heparan sulfate sulfation during gastrulation. Overexpressing sumf1 or sumf2 causes delayed or precocious C&E, respectively, whereas their loss shifts C&E timing in the opposite direction. We identified Sulf1, a modifier of heparan …

Background: Clearance of Plasmodium falciparum infection requires a TH1 immune response with production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, IgG1, and IgG3 responses. In contrast, infections with helminths are dominated by TH2/Treg immune responses characterized by production of anti-inflammatory cytokines, IgE, and IgG4, which could potentially interfere with malaria outcomes and immune responses.

Methods: We recruited 441 malaria-symptomatic children aged 2-10 years attending two hospitals in the Manhiça District (Mozambique) and assessed infection by rapid antigen diagnostic test, microscopy, and/or quantitative PCR. Objective. Several novel methods, including magnetogenetics and magnetoelectric stimulation, use high frequency alternating magnetic fields to precisely manipulate neural activity. To quantify the behavioral effects of such interventions in a freely moving mouse, we developed a dual-channel magnetic chamber, specifically designed for rate-sensitive magnetothermal-genetic stimulation, and adaptable for other uses of alternating magnetic fields.

Electronic nicotine delivery system manufacturers, such as Charlie's Holdings Inc., ECBlend, Outlaw, and NicRiver, have recently introduced nicotine analogs, such as 6-methyl nicotine, 6-MN ("Metatine"), and nicotinamide, NA ("Nixamide," "Nixodine," or "Nixotin-free base and salt") in products to circumvent the U.S. FDA's premarket tobacco product application (PMTA) requirements. Marketed as "tobacco-free," "PMTA-exempt," or "FDA-approved," these compounds now appear in oral nicotine pouches and disposable bars/vapes from brands such as Outlaw Dip, Kumi-Six, SBX, Katchmi, and Spree Bar under proprietary labels including "NoNic6," "Metatine," or "NIC-SAFE." In this study, we explore the connection between unperturbed matrix differential systems that exhibit variations in both their initial conditions and the starting time. Through the application of variation of parameters methods, we construct integral representations that reveal this relationship. To formulate Holder-type stability criteria under the presence of an initial time shift in nonlinear matrix differential systems, it is essential to employ the variational framework derived from the unperturbed matrix model.

The article deals with the determination of initial conditions in a mixed problem for a two-dimensional hyperbolic equation. First, the uniqueness of the solution to the corresponding initial–boundary value problem is established. Then, by imposing certain restrictions on the given data, the existence of a solution to this problem is demonstrated. Furthermore, existence and uniqueness theorems are proved for the associated inverse problem of determining the initial conditions.

In this commentary, the authors argue that deterrence by denial, while essential, is insufficient on its own to address contemporary biothreats. This environmental history of the North Portland Peninsula is a critical case study of a landscape in transition, where new "natures" have been constructed through shifting projects of reclamation and restoration. The Port of Portland, who controlled the Peninsula, transformed the marshy bottomlands near the confluence of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers to accommodate greater networks of industrial infrastructure and expand their capacity for global trade. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to determine whether patients diagnosed with ulnar nerve lesions (UNLs) have an increased risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS).

METHODS: A retrospective cohort study was conducted using the TriNetX database, which contains data of >100 million patients. We identified 360,021 patients with UNLs and matched them 1:1 with controls. The incidence of CTS was assessed at 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 years following the diagnosis of UNL. Statistical analyses were used to evaluate the development of CTS in the UNL cohort compared with controls.

Therefore, this study aimed to determine the association between central obesity and hypertension in a cohort study group in Bogor City, West Java from 2011 to 2021. A retrospective cohort study design was employed, with multivariate Cox regression analysis performed using secondary data from the Risk Factors for Non-Communicable Diseases (FRPTM) Cohort Study. Among 3,586 samples, 879 incident cases of hypertension were observed by the end of follow-up, accounting for 24.5% of the at-risk population.
