What do Lacanians mean when they refer to the notion of elementary phenomena? This idea, crucial to Lacan’s (1993) theorizations of psychosis in Seminar III, refers back to the psychiatric conceptualizations of the late 19th and early 20th century. However, even while citing the influence of others when utilizing the concept, Lacan—characteristically enough— described the concept in his own distinctively psychoanalytic way. The term is particularly important to Lacan in terms of how he thinks about the development of delusions and related psychotic symptoms in relation to the initial onset of psychosis. This work considers an extra-dimensional framework to explain the gravitational wave background (GWB), massive neutrinos, and baryon asymmetry. Through studying all three, restrictions on certain parameters arise and provide bounds on both theories. It is proposed that the GWB is caused by cosmic domain walls, sheet-like topological defects that were theoretically created in the early universe shortly after the Big Bang. A relationship be- tween the energy density of domain walls and the vacuum expectation value of the broken symmetry was defined. η Carinae (η Car) is a binary system, with the larger star being an extremely massive, luminous blue variable (LBV) beyond the Eddington Limit. Surrounding the η Car system, numerous multi-wavelength imaging campaigns reveal axisymmetric structures with the expanding bipolar Homunculus Nebula (¡1 pc). In combination with the episodic eruptive history of the η Car system, our initial intermediate-scale imaging revealed further axisym- metric structures (1-5 pc). The convergence of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) in Industry 4.0 environments has greatly expanded the attack surface of critical infrastructure systems. Legacy industrial protocols originally intended for use only in isolated networks are now exposed across interconnected systems. This interconnectivity enables adversaries to target power grids, manufacturing plants, and other critical systems with increasing sophistication. Although vendors have retroactively introduced security extensions to industrial protocols such as EtherNet/IP and OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA), the adequacy and practical feasibility of these security measures remain understudied. This research investigated Drosophila melanogaster’s ability to serve as a model organism for the neurological phenotypes of Myotonic Dystrophy Type I (DM1). DM1 is caused by a CTG repeat expansion in the DMPK gene. DM1 leads to symptoms of muscle weakness and wasting, as well as decreased cerebral volume. This study aimed to determine whether DM1-affected Drosophila exhibit neurological changes, as has been observed in humans. Healthy control (CUG20) and DM1-affected Drosophila (CUG250) were generated using classical genetics. Both groups were aged three weeks prior to dissection and imaged through fluorescent microscopy. Following the Norman Conquest in 1066, a castle-building project of unprecedented scale transformed the landscape of England. This paper investigates how these structures supported the establishment of Norman rule over England, and how their role changed over time. Through examining case studies, the paper concludes that in the early years following the Conquest castles were primarily used in military operations, but in the following decades became essential administrative sites and seats of local government, as well as symbols of Norman power. When cancer cells are treated with chemotherapy, they can release Damage-Associated Molecular Patterns (DAMPs) as they die that can alert and engage the immune system, a process known as an immunogenic cell death (ICD). The dying cancer cell can release certain molecules, including ATP or calreticulin, that immune cells first recognize as abnormal before initiating an anti-tumor response. However, not all chemotherapies cause the release of these beneficial signals as they kill the cell. These pressures have made “work–life balance” an often unattainable goal. This session reframes the conversation, shifting the focus from chasing balance to intentionally creating harmony by design. Drawing on the book Harmony by Design and the principles of Diagnostic Design Thinking, the authors co-created a practical, human-centered leadership approach to strengthen workplace culture. This paper uses Rosenzweig’s conception of the three elements of God, World, and Human from The Star of Redemption in a model of universal history. One way to electrochemically reduce CO₂ is to use modified electrode surfaces with bound transition-metal electrocatalysts. Optimal conditions for modifying copper surfaces with (2-azidoethyl) phosphonic acid in acetone have been identified for forming a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) via the tethering by aggregation and growth (T-BAG) method. The subsequently formed phosphonate film on the copper surfaces protects the modified electrodes from oxidation or side reactions on the copper. This study compares the Six Americas framework (Maibach et al., 2011) and a Climate Change Denial framework categorizing individuals as deniers or non-deniers (Valentiner et al., in preparation). It was hypothesized that the Six Americas dismissive category would substantially overlap with the denier classification.

Participants (N = 334) were students in Introduction to Psychology courses at Northern Illinois University in Spring semester 2026. Participants completed the Six Americas Super Short Survey (SASSY) and the Climate Change Acceptance and Denial scales.

Nature-Based Solutions, green-finance instruments and policies are now routinely constructed around carbon sequestration/storage (CSS) and nutrient bioremediation (NB). This integration builds on how Market-Based Instruments (e.g. payments-for-ecosystem-services) are regularly used in policies focused on terrestrial ecosystems. In marine and coastal systems poor understanding of CSS/NB biophysical processes and impacts of ecosystem quality/stressors, combined with methods and governance framework knowledge gaps, generate substantial uncertainty in outcomes. This research aims to develop an ion Pb²⁺ sensor and determine the optimal conditions for testing Pb²⁺ ions using an MnO₂/PGE modified electrode with the voltammetric method. In this study, the Pencil Graphite Electrode (PGE) was modified using MnO₂ through drop-casting. Next, the optimization of the electrode was carried out by varying the supporting electrolyte type, voltammetric technique, and supporting electrolyte concentration. The results showed that the modified electrode (MnO₂/PGE) provided a better response for Pb²⁺ detection compared to the unmodified electrode (PGE). This research evaluated activated carbon prepared from Lantana camara charred (LCC) and olive stone charred (OSC) for the adsorption of chromium (VI) and manganese (VII) ions from aqueous solutions. Analytical methods such as XRD, SEM, EDX and FTIR demonstrated that the materials have highly porous surfaces. Adsorption tests were conducted using comprehensive statistical physics models for Cr(VI) and Mn(VII) at three temperatures (25,40 and 55 °C) and at two pH levels (3and5), respectively. The objective of the current study was to evaluate the potential of luteolin to mitigate the neurotoxic effects of OXL. Oxidative injury, inflammation, and mitochondrial dysfunction are the cardinal factors in OXL-triggered neuropathy. LUT modulates sensory and motor behavioral changes induced by OXL. Notably, LUT treatment significantly (p≤ 0.05) increased antioxidant activity by increasing paraoxonase-1 (PON-1) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) levels, attenuating oxidative damage. Additionally, LUT inhibited neuroinflammation by repressing the levels of toll-like receptor-4 (TLR4) and intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), while significantly increasing brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and downregulating the relative gene expression level of mitogen-activated protein kinase 14 …

This study focuses on the synthesis, structural analysis and antibacterial properties of a composite comprising hydroxyapatite (HAp), polyethylene glycol (PEG) and chitosan (CTS). CTS was extracted from shrimp shells, and CaO for Hap was obtained from pensi shell. These composites were synthesized using the sol-gel method in situ by varying the concentrations of PEG (5, 10, 15, 20 and 25%) and CTS (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5%). This study aimed to identify and classify airborne bacteria in outdoor air within the campus of the University of Baghdad, Iraq, using the passive sampling technique. Air samples were collected from ten sites and analyzed by the 16S rRNA gene sequencing technique. The results revealed significant seasonal differences in both microbial and particulate matter concentrations. Bacterial concentrations were considerably higher during the wet season, with 3238.6 CFU/m³ compared to the dry season, with 1872.6 CFU/m³. PM2.5 levels averaged 47.58 μg/m³ in the wet season and declined to 11.33 μg/m³ in the dry season, while PM10 …
