Rainfall variability is a critical factor for Thailand’s socio-economic development. Thus, enhancing understanding of rainfall mechanisms and its variability is of paramount importance for effective strategies for tackling the severe droughts/floods which are memorable and a recurring problem in Thailand. Through this study, we examined the variability of total annual rainfall (R_total) and the annual total number of rainy days (R_day) in Thailand during 1951-2003, using an Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) analysis. งานวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อศึกษาประสิทธิภาพของตัวกรองชีวภาพไนตริฟิเคชันในการบำบัดแอมโมเนียในถังเลี้ยงกุ้งทะเลรูปแบบบ่อไร้ดินกลางแจ้ง โดยในการทดลองแรกเป็นการศึกษาผลของตัวกรองชีวภาพต่อการบำบัดสารอนินทรีย์ไนโตรเจนซึ่งทำในถังขนาด 7.5 ลิตร ที่มีน้ำทะเลความเค็ม 28 พีเอสยู ชุดทดลองประกอบด้วยถังบรรจุน้ำทะเลและชุดตัวกรองชีวภาพซึ่งมีลักษณะเป็นท่อพลาสติกพีวิชีที่บรรจุใยกรอง "ใบโอโพลิมา" ไว้ภายในก่อนเริ่มการทดลองจะต้องทำการเตรียมสภาพตัวกรอง โดยแช่ตัวกรองไว้ในน้ำทะเลที่มีแอมโมเนียมคลอไรด์ความเข้มข้น 2 มก.ไนโตรเจน/ลิตร เป็นเวลาอย่างน้อย 1 เดือน ผลการศึกษาพบว่าหลังจากเติมอาหารกุ้งน้ำหนัก 0.51 ก. ลงในถังเพื่อเป็นแหล่งของไนโตรเจน จะพบการสะสมของแอมโมเนียและไนไตรต์ในถังชุดควบคุมที่ไม่มีตัวกรองชีวภาพ ในขณะที่ตัวกรองชีวภาพที่ผ่านการเตรียมสภาพมาแล้วในถังชุดทดลองสามารถบำบัดแอมโมเนียและไนไตรต์ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพทั้งในสภาวะแวดล้อมที่ได้รับแสงและในที่มืด การทดลองที่สองเป็นการทดลองในระบบเช่น เดียวกับการทดลองแรกแต่มีการเติมอาหารกุ้งทุกสามวันเพื่อเพิ่มปริมาณไนโตรเจนที่ เข้าสู่ระบบผลการทดลองชี้ให้เห็นว่าตัวกรองชีวภาพไนตริฟิเคชันสามารถป้องกันการเกิดปฏิกิริยาไนตริฟิเคชันที่ไม่สมบูรณ์ได้ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในชุดทดลองที่เป็นถังกลางแจ้งที่มีการพรางแสง และผลการทดลองยังแสดงให้เห็นบทบาทร่วมกันของแพลงก์ตอนพืชและตัวกรองชีวภาพ ไนตริพีเคชันที่เปลี่ยนแอมโมเนียไปเป็นมวล ชีวภาพ (แพลงก์ตอนพืช) และไปเป็นไนเตรต (กระบวนการไนตริฟิเคชันของแบคทีเรีย) การทดลองสุดท้ายเป็นการประเมินบทบาทของตัวกรองชีวภาพในถังเลี้ยงกุ้งกุลาดำกลางแจ้ง โดยทำการเลี้ยงกุ้งกุลาดำจำนวน 6 ตัว ในถังบรรจุน้ำทะเล ปริมาตร 120 ลิตร เปรียบเทียบระหว่างชุด ควบคุมและชุดทดลองที่มีตัวกรองชีวภาพทำการทดลองเลี้ยงกุ้งเป็นเวลา 26 วัน ผลการศึกษาพบการสะสมของแอมโมเนียและไนไตรต์ในถังชุดควบคุม โดยความเข้มข้นสูงสุดเท่ากับ 1.90 มก.แอมโมเนียมไนโตรเจน/ลิตร และ 12.95 มก.ไนไตรต์ไนโตรเจน/ลิตร ตามลำดับ นอกจากนี้ยัง พบการบลูมของแพลงก์ตอนพืชในถังชุดควบคุมซึ่งเป็นตัวการสำคัญที่ลดปริมาณ แอมโมเนียในน้ำ ในขณะที่ตัวกรองชีวภาพ ในถังชุดทดลองสามารถเปลี่ยนแอมโมเนียไปเป็นไนเตรตได้อย่างรวดเร็วโดยเป็นกระบวนการไนตริฟิเคชันแบบสมบูรณ์ ดังนั้นการบำบัดแอมโมเนียที่เกิดขึ้นจึงเกิด จากกระบวนการไนตริฟิเคชันเป็นหลักและเกิดจากการบำบัดโดยแพลงก์ตอนพืชเพียงเล็กน้อย ส่งผลให้คุณภาพน้ำในถังชุดทดลองดีกว่าถังชุดควบคุม ผลการศึกษานี้ได้แสดงให้เห็นความเป็นไปได้ของการใช้ตัวกรองชีวภาพไนตริฟิเคชันเพื่อการบำบัด แอมโมเนียในบ่อไร้ดินกลางแจงเพื่อการ เพาะเลี้ยงสัตว์น้ำ

ฝุ่นละอองขนาดไม่เกิน 10 ไมครอน (PM10) เป็นสารมลพิษที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อคุณภาพอากาศ นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าภายในฝุ่นละอองยังประกอบไปด้วยองค์ประกอบทางเคมีหลากหลายชนิด ซึ่งองค์ประกอบดังกล่าวสามารถใช้เป็นตัวบ่งชี้เพื่อบอกแนวโน้มของแหล่งกำเนิดฝุ่นละอองได้ ดังนั้นการศึกษาวิจัยครั้งนี้จึงมุ่งเน้นศึกษาความเข้มข้นและองค์ประกอบทางเคมีของฝุ่นละอองขนาดไม่เกิน 10 ไมครอน ในบรรยากาศบริเวณจังหวัดสมุทรปราการ โดยมีพื้นที่ศึกษาวิจัยทั้งหมด 4 แห่ง ซึ่งได้แก่สถานีตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศศูนย์พื้นฟูอาชีพและสถานสงเคราะห์คนพิการ พระประแดง โรงเรียนวัดกิ่งแก้ว โรงเรียน คลองเจริญราษฎร์ และโรงเรียนปากคลอง มอญ
ผลการศึกษาความเข้มขันของฝุ่นละอองขนาดไม่เกิน 10 ไมครอน ในบรรยากาศพบว่า ความเข้มข้นเฉลี่ยของฝุ่นละอองช่วงฤดูแล้งของทุกพื้นที่ศึกษามีค่าสูงกว่าช่วงฤดูฝนโดยพบว่าความเข้มข้นเฉลี่ย ของฝุ่นละอองในช่วงฤดูแล้งจะมีค่าเฉลี่ย เท่ากับ 60.86 ไมโครกรัมต่อลูกบาศก์เมตร ในขณะที่ช่วงฤดูฝนจะมีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 39.29 ไมโครกรัมต่อลูกบาศก์เมตร ซึ่งพบว่ามีค่าลดลงประมาณร้อยละ 14-51 ทั้งนี้เป็นผลสืบเนื่องมาจากกระบวนการการชะล้างของฝน นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าบริเวณพื้นที่ศึกษาที่มีการดำเนินกิจกรรมหลายประเภท อาทิเช่น กิจกรรมจากโรงงานอุตสาหกรรม การก่อสร้าง และการจราจร จะมีแนวโน้มความเข้มข้น เฉลี่ยของฝนละอองขนาดไม่เกิน 10 ไมครอน ที่ค่อนข้างสูงกว่าบริเวณพื้นศึกษาที่มีการดำเนินกิจกรรมประเภทเกษตรกรรมทั้งสองช่วงฤดู
ผลการศึกษาองค์ประกอบทางเคมีของฝนละอองขนาดไม่เกิน 10 ไมครอน พบว่าองค์ประกอบทางเคมีในพื้นที่ศึกษาทั้ง 4 แห่ง พบว่า องค์ประกอบทางเคมีที่พบส่วนใหญ่ทั้งในฤดูแล้งและฤดูฝน ได้แก่ Al, Si, Fe, S, Cl, OC, EC, SO₄^2-, NO₃^-, Cl^-, K⁺, Na⁺, NH₄⁺ ทั้งนี้คาดว่าองค์ประกอบดังกล่าวน่าจะมีแนวโน้มมาจากแหล่งกำเนิดประเภทอุตสาหกรรมอาทิเช่น การเผาไหม้เชื้อเพลิงหรือจากกระบวนการผลิต นอกจากนี้ยังมีแนวโน้มมาจากยานพาหนะ การเผาขยะอุตสาหกรรมการเผาไหม้ชีวมวล ฝุ่นดินและฝุ่นถนน รวมทั้งจากละอองไอทะเล

จากการศึกษาแบคทีเรียในตัวอย่างอากาศบริเวณใต้สถานีรถไฟท้า BTS สยามสแควร์และบริเวณจุดเปรียบเทียบปรับใต้ทางด่วนพระรามสี่ โดยมีจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยเป็นพื้นที่เปรียบเทียบ ตั้งแต่เดือน สิงหาคม 2544 - มกราคม 2545 ด้วย เทคนิค Liquid Impingement และเลี้ยง แบคทีเรียบนอาหารเลี้ยงเชื้อ Nutrient Agar และ Blood Agar พบว่าในฤดูฝนปริมาณแบคทีเรียในอากาศบริเวณใต้สถานีรถไฟฟ้า BTS สยามสแควร์ สูงกว่าบริเวณจุดเปรียบเทียบปรับใต้ทางด่วนพระรามสี่และบริเวณจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ (p<0.05) ส่วนในฤดูแล้งปริมาณแบคทีเรียในอากาศบริเวณจุดเปรียบเทียบปรับใต้ทางด่วนพระรามสี่สูงกว่าใต้สถานีรถไฟฟ้า BTS สยามสแควร์และบริเวณจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ (p<0.05) นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าบริเวณจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยและใต้สถานีรถไฟท้า BTS สยามสแควร์ มีปริมาณแบคทีเรียในอากาศในฤดูฝนไม่แตกต่างจากฤดูแล้ง แต่บริเวณจุดเปรียบเทียบปรับใต้ทางด่วนพระรามสี่มีปริมาณแบคทีเรียในอากาศในฤดูฝนน้อยกว่าปริมาณแบคทีเรียในอากาศในฤดูแล้งอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ (p<0.05) จากปฏิกิริยาการสลายเม็ดเลือดแดง บนอาหารเลี้ยงเชื้อ Blood Agar จาก ตัวอย่างทั้ง 3 แห่ง พบแบคทีเรียชนิด γ-hemolysis มากที่สุด (68.36%) รองลงมา คือ β-hemolysis (29.78%) และ α-hemolysis (1.89%) ตามลำดับ จากการศึกษานี้พบว่าปัจจัยที่คาดว่าน่าจะมีผลต่อปริมาณแบคทีเรียในอากาศได้แก่ การปิดครอบบริเวณสัญจร การจราจร จำนวนคนฤดูกาล และ ทิศทางลม

The weed plant species were studied because they have no value and are burdens to the environment as agriculture waste. The fear of divine punishment has been identified as a religiosity marker among Muslims. Nonetheless, scholars hold varying perspectives on this emotion. While some consider it a pathological emotion, others view it as a religious emotion. To further investigate this issue, a study was conducted involving 392 non-clinical devout Muslims in Indonesia, using a measurement tool to assess excessive fear of divine punishment. Parentification refers to the role reversal of children who take on adult responsibility to care for family members. This role is often filled by Mexican-American children as a result of immigration and assimilation. This study explored the relationship between parentification and adult romantic relationship satisfaction among first-generation Mexican-American adults, with particular attention to the moderating roles of attachment styles and perceived unfairness. Veterans returning from combat often face psychological challenges, but many also experience posttraumatic growth (PTG), which refers to positive changes that can emerge after trauma. This study explored whether coping strategies, personal characteristics, social support, and combat exposure were associated with PTG in a sample of 42 war zone veterans using quantitative and qualitative methods. Participants completed validated measures assessing combat exposure, coping strategies, social support, personal characteristics (e.g., optimism), and PTG. Regression analyses showed that combat exposure, coping strategies, and optimism were not significant predictors of overall PTG. This thesis examines environmental education in public high schools in northern Mississippi, investigating how educators describe its presence, delivery, and institutional support in communities disproportionately burdened by environmental harm. Seven semi-structured interviews were conducted with high school teachers across four northern Mississippi schools, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed through iterative thematic coding under Institutional Review Board approval. Five themes emerged: opportunistic curricular integration, time and standards as overriding structural constraints, passive institutional support, student receptivity tempered by limited awareness, and significant variation across school contexts with one magnet school as a clear outlier. This study utilized narrative reports from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) database to examine the types of uncertainty present in near-miss instructional aviation incidents occurring within the United States between 2015 and 2025. The final dataset consisted of 86 reports, with each report containing a set of narrative accounts from both the student pilot and the flight instructor operating under Part 91 regulations. Each instructional event was classified using a combined framework incorporating uncertainty categorizations and the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS).
