Journal of Metals, Materials and Minerals

Fe3Si is under interest as a ferromagnetic electrode of magnetic tunneling junctions (MTJs). Its crystalline structure is important for achieving high device efficiency. This work focuses on mechanical alloying of 3:1 ratio of 99% pure Fe and Si powder mixtures by ball milling and sintering. The mixtures were ball-milled for various durations up to 20 h. Then, they were sintered from 400°C  to 800°C for 4 h in Ar.  SEM images and particle size analysis show significant reduction in average particle size of the mixtures after ball milling for 20 h. The longer duration of ball milling process promotes powder …

(R2165) Two Different Stages With Two Distinct Harvesting Processes, S. Vijaya, Krishika M Dec 2050

(R2165) Two Different Stages With Two Distinct Harvesting Processes, S. Vijaya, Krishika M

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

This study extends the classical Lotka-Volterra prey-predator model by incorporating a stage structured prey population consisting of juvenile and adult stages, while considering a single predator species governed by a Holling type II functional response. The growth of the juvenile prey depends on the adult prey population and since the juvenile prey has no reproduction capability. Two distinct harvesting strategies are introduced in the model. Constant-yield harvesting is applied to the juvenile stage of the prey population and represents a fixed amount of harvest regardless of population size. Constant effort harvesting is applied to the adult stage of the prey …

Reducing Short Circuit Level In 400kv Iraqi Grid System By Using Facts Device, Inaam I., Mohanad Sh. Tarad

Iraqi Journal of Computers, Communications, Control and Systems Engineering

Electrical power systems are different in their sizes because of their amount of generation power stations, substations, transmission lines and loads. Therefore, these factors may impact on short circuit levels values. Capacity of power stations and dummy transmission lines in Extra high Voltage grid (400kV) of the Iraqi Electrical power grids cause high short circuit levels values such that exceed both rating of the peak and breaking capacity of switchgear equipment's. Reduction of short-circuit levels by using Fast-acting Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS) types devices in power grids maintain the operation of power grids with acceptable value of short …

Minorities In Iraq After 2003: Reality And The Future, Muna Hussein Obaid

Uruk Journal of Human Sciences

The issue of minorities is one of the important issues, because they have been suffering from forced violations by terrorist groups, which have occupied many areas, not only in Iraq, but in many countries of the region. The increasing local and global awareness of the rights of minorities prompted many of these minorities to demand their rights, especially after 2003, whether in the field of their participation in the political process and political decision-making or through integrating them with the societal fabric as a whole, as minorities suffered from great injustice in their social and political rights as well The …

Metarag: Identifying Website Owner Using Meta-Path-Guided Dynamic Graph Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Cheng Tu, Yunshan Ma, Bingyang Guo, Qianyu Li, Yang Li, Min Zhang, Fan Shi, Xiang Wang

Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems

Website owner identification aims to link websites to their real-world owners, which is crucial for credibility assessment and information provenance in information retrieval and vital for applications in cybersecurity, Internet governance, and digital regulation. Existing approaches for website owner identification primarily rely on querying infrastructure registration records or analyzing webpage content. However, these methods often fail due to incomplete or outdated registration records and sparse webpage content. We observe that inter-website relationships, derived from shared infrastructure data such as primary domains, IP blocks, and geolocations, can provide valuable but underutilized ownership cues. To exploit this insight, we propose MetaRAG, a …

Studies have overlooked the experience of LGBQ+ Black AFAB individuals navigating sexual orientation development and religious and racial identities. Studies have greatly favored Black gay men and supported health risks such as HIV. In the present study, twelve Black AFAB Queer individuals participated in …

White, Heterosexual, Cisgender Male Experiences With Contemporary Masculinity Language, Marcus D. Kako Aug 2027

White, Heterosexual, Cisgender Male Experiences With Contemporary Masculinity Language, Marcus D. Kako

Doctoral Dissertations

Studies suggest that rigid adherence to tenets of traditional masculinity (e.g., dominance, restrictive emotionality, aggression) can lead to adverse physical and mental health outcomes in men and marginalized groups (e.g., Burke, 2002; Jampel et al., 2020; Jewkes et al., 2011; Mesler et al., 2022). However, literature demonstrates that many men have an aversion to changing thoughts, values, and behaviors related to traditional masculinity, and that the language used to discuss these changes affects men’s willingness to engage in adopting new perspectives and values (e.g., Smedley & Croffie, 2023; Stein, 2018). Thus, this dissertation focuses on understanding how White, heterosexual, cisgender …

Associations Between Sexual And Gender Minority Stress Exposure And Schizophrenia-Like Experiences In The South, Lillian A. Hammer Aug 2027

Associations Between Sexual And Gender Minority Stress Exposure And Schizophrenia-Like Experiences In The South, Lillian A. Hammer

Dissertations

Background: Negative experiences related to one’s minority identity serve as stressors contributing to mental health concerns for those identifying as a sexual and/or gender minority (SGM). SGM groups have greater severity of some mental health symptoms than non-SGM individuals, yet it is poorly understood whether these findings extend to schizophrenia-like experiences (SLEs). SLEs are associated with significant distress and may indicate risk for the development of schizophrenia-spectrum disorders. Associations between exposure to minority stress and SLEs are underexplored. This study aimed to fill this gap by assessing whether exposure to SGM-related minority stress was related to SLEs using ecological …
