As global interest in sustainability and circular economy models intensifies, understanding consumer behaviour toward refurbished products becomes increasingly important—particularly in emerging markets like India. This study examines the ethical and motivational drivers behind consumers' willingness to purchase refurbished motorcycle parts. These parts offer a sustainable alternative in India's fast-growing automotive sector. The research draws on Deontic Justice Theory (DJT) and Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) to analyze how moral responsibility, perceived threats, and coping mechanisms impact purchase intentions. The St. Lucie Estuary (SLE) on Florida’s east coast is vital for diverse aquatic life and provides essential services to local communities. However, the estuary’s health is threatened by water quality deterioration due to nutrient-driven phytoplankton blooms, particularly cyanobacteria, which have increased in frequency over recent decades. These blooms may worsen water quality by reducing dissolved oxygen, altering pH, and increasing turbidity. Moreover, some phytoplankton species, including Microcystis aeruginosa, a freshwater cyanobacteria species, produce harmful toxins, posing risks to both marine aquatic life and human health in this area. Jenny Offill’s novels Dept. of Speculation and Weather are each narrated by a woman who exists in a postfeminist era that insists upon the achievability of a happy work-life balance. Despite the lofty career aspirations now afforded to women, the protagonists find themselves burdened by the gendered responsibilities that disproportionately hold them responsible for domestic duties, childcare, and emotional labor. Both protagonists use a fragmented narrative style to convey their consciousness, and the texts are composed of hundreds of short fragments that include memories, self-reflections, philosophical musings, lines of poetry, fun facts, questions, and more. Born in 1877, Rose McDonough grew up in Montclair, New Jersey. She learned French in a local school inside a Congregational Church, and by 1920 was a private teacher. This thesis recovers information about Rose McDonough’s life through a single archival object: Easy Conversations In French, by Gustave Choquet and published by New York’s George R. Lockwood & Son, in 1854. Housed in the Montclair History Center, Rose’s penciled marginalia is scattered throughout. This thesis develops a practical monitoring approach for Kosovo’s PISA outcomes by linking country-level benchmarking of PISA 2015, 2018, and 2022 with measurable system signals and a focused school-level triangulation. Quantitatively, it benchmarks Kosovo against Western Balkans Six (WB6) and selected European peers through mathematics mean scores, below-Level-2 shares, and top-performing shares. It then uses k-means clustering to define empirical peer groups and tests an early-warning screening exercise in which 2015/2018 information is used to classify held-out 2022 high-risk profiles. The goal of this project is to use casein as a case study to explore historical methods of making and to show that these have uses for today. In the first half of the 20th century, casein, a milk protein, was a widely-used industrial material. Buttons, buckles, glue, and clothing, among other products, were made from it. The use of casein declined in the post-World War II economy because of reputational damage done by its association with Benito Mussolini’s fascist regime and the rise of petroleum plastics. This thesis investigates the performance of Raytheon’s mercury-cadmium-telluride-on-silicon (MCT-on-Si) infrared detector arrays, with particular emphasis on the impact of the heteroepitaxial silicon growth process on dark current and persistence characteristics. Infrared detectors have been the cornerstone of astronomical discovery for the past four decades and remain essential for current and future flagship observatories, including the James Webb Space Telescope and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope.
