The persistent underrepresentation of Black women in higher education leadership raises important questions about how institutional environments shape leadership advancement, belonging, and sustainability. This qualitative phenomenological study explored the role of mentorship in the lived experiences of Black women leaders in higher education in shaping leadership trajectories, professional development, and institutional engagement. Participants included senior leaders serving in roles such as president, vice president, chief officer, and other executive administrative positions across higher education institutions. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with participants (N=17), generating narrative data reflecting their experiences navigating leadership environments and mentorship relationships. Aquatic biofilms are an understudied component of northern peatlands and are expected to play a more prominent role in ecosystem processes in areas where aquatic habitat is expanding. The goal of this study was to investigate how hydrologic history influences biofilm diversity and functional genes. This study was conducted in a long-term water table manipulation that simulates drought (lowered water table treatment) and flooding (raised water table treatment) conditions relative to a control treatment (no manipulation). Gomphrena, also known as globe amaranth, is a full-sun annual with clover-like, papery blooms. Plants thrive in the heat and prefer drier soils once established, making this crop a water-wise choice for Utah cut flower production. Blooms range from soft to fluorescent pink, white, orange, lilac, and red. Gomphrena is especially useful in detailed design work, such as boutonnieres and corsages, as the blooms do well out of water. Gomphrena is also an exceptional flower for drying. The versatility of selling gomphrena as both a fresh and dried cut flower increases its value for Utah growers. Grown primarily for field …

As historic levels of funding to resolve and prevent homelessness draws down in Multnomah County, entities providing homeless services want to know the most effective ways of supporting people experiencing homelessness. The “Pathways” study aims to help answer that question. Through surveys and interviews, we sought to understand how people navigate their lives while homeless, and in particular how they interacted with homeless services. Overall, the findings reinforce what previous studies have found: people want housing, need housing to be affordable and within their means, and value helpful effective services. Mineral reaction textures are fundamental archives of geological change. Amphibole reaction rims are among the most widely used to reconstruct pre-eruptive magmatic conditions, traditionally interpreted through changes in pressure, temperature and melt composition. However, these interpretations have largely overlooked the role of deformation, ubiquitous during magma ascent. Here we show that amphibole breakdown is not only thermodynamically sensitive, but also mechanically sensitive. Using electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) analyses of experimental and natural samples, combined with numerical simulations of crystal rotation under magma flow, we demonstrate that pyroxene nucleates topotactically on amphibole, forming rims, but can later reorient in response to …

This study examines the multifaceted role of teachers in fostering interpersonal skills among 4th-grade students at SDN 42 Pekanbaru. Employing a qualitative approach through naturalistic inquiry, the research aims to provide an in-depth understanding of how teachers contribute to the social and emotional development of students in this context. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, with analysis conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal that teachers play diverse roles—as instructors, educators, mentors, coaches, and advisors—in promoting students’ interpersonal skills. This study investigates the implementation of hybrid learning adopting a multisensory approach in an English classroom with dyslexic students. The participants involved in this study were dyslexic English learners and their English teachers. The participants were selected using a purposive technique and used qualitative methods. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews of five dyslexic English learners and four English teachers. The research findings revealed that most teachers and dyslexic learners prefer offline learning to online learning. As for taking English exams, the participants' perspectives were divided. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of learning adaptation strategies implemented by students with hearing impairments in the context of inclusive higher education. The study employs a qualitative approach using an open-ended survey design involving 15 students with hearing impairments who are currently enrolled in or have previously attended higher education institutions. Data were analyzed using a reflexive thematic analysis approach to identify thematic patterns related to perceptions of the effectiveness of the adaptation strategies employed. Solid bone fixation plates, although clinically effective, often induce stress shielding and impair periosteal blood flow due to their mismatch in stiffness with cortical bone. To overcome these limitations, this study proposes lattice-engineered porous bone plates designed to balance mechanical integrity and biological compatibility. A systematic parametric investigation was conducted by varying three design variables: crystal structure type (diamond, fluorite, and gyroid), porosity levels (50%, 70%, and 90%), and structure layout. The research aimed to investigate the predominant speech act classification employed by the teacher, the factors influencing an EFL teacher using the predominant speech acts, as well as its impact on instructional activities.
