Today, more individuals worldwide are classified as overweight than underweight (World Health Organization, n.d.-a.). Over the past several decades, obesity rates have increased dramatically, particularly in the United States. Since the 1960s, the prevalence of obesity in the U.S. has risen from 13% to 43%, reflecting a significant shift in population health. Even more striking, less than 1% of Americans were considered morbidly obese in 1960, compared to nearly 10% today (USAFacts, 2023). This trend is not limited to the United States. Bacterial chondronecrosis with osteomyelitis (BCO) is a significant cause of lameness in commercial broilers, resulting in substantial animal welfare concerns and economic losses. This study evaluated the effect of 1,25(OH)₂D₃ glycoside supplementation duration on the incidence of BCO-related lameness in broilers. Cobb surplus male broiler chicks were assigned to four treatment groups: a wire-flooring positive control, a litter-flooring negative control, and two treatment groups on litter flooring receiving 1 μg 1,25(OH)₂D₃ as glycosides supplementation per kg diet for either 14 or 28 days. This Doctor of Ministry project addresses the need for intentional pastoral care formation among lay members at the University Church of Christ in Abilene, Texas, with particular attention to its bilingual ministry context. Grounded in the doctrine of the priesthood of all believers as articulated in 1 Pet 2:9, the project argues that pastoral care is not the exclusive responsibility of ordained clergy but a shared calling within the body of Christ. This thesis examines the valuation drivers in small-cap upstream oil and gas M&A, using the November 2025 PEDEVCO–Juniper Capital transaction as an anchor case against comparable DJ Basin acquisitions from 2018 to 2026. Drawing on SEC filings and EIA pricing data, the analysis standardizes deals across $/flowing barrel, reserve mix, liquids exposure, and commodity environment. Regression testing shows that daily production scale is the dominant driver of total enterprise value, while oil weighting and PDP-heavy reserves command per-unit pricing premiums; short-term WTI and Henry Hub prices show little explanatory power. Clostridioides difficile is an opportunistic pathogen responsible for severe gastrointestinal infection. C. difficile-related infection is extremely prevalent in healthcare facilities, causing roughly 30,000 deaths annually in the United States alone. Its main mechanism of virulence is sporulation, which is directed by the SpoIIE protein. This makes SpoIIE an attractive target for the remedy and prevention of infections. The objective of this study was to analyze its structure using both lab techniques and artificial intelligence modeling. Circadian clocks regulate daily physiological and metabolic rhythms across many organisms. In Drosophila melanogaster, the molecular clock involving period (per) and timeless regulates gene expression across 24-hour cycles. Circadian rhythms are well characterized in adult, mature organisms, but their emergence during early developmental stages remain poorly understood. In D. melanogaster, the circadian regulation of sleep and feeding rhythms emerges during the 3rd instar larval stage. This suggests that the circadian regulation of metabolism may also arise during this stage. This thesis examines substitutability within Walmart apparel as a foundation for modular category optimization. Using large-scale item-level data, I develop an attribute-based framework that aggregates products to the fineline level, constructs a structured feature space, and identifies candidate substitute relationships through similarity-based matching within relevant merchandise groupings. The results show that Walmart item master data contains sufficient structure to support scalable substitute generation across a high-variety assortment. However, substitutability is not uniform: many item pairs exhibit high similarity but low observed demand transfer, indicating that structural similarity alone does not guarantee substitution. This traditional approach treats all sales equally over time, whether they are driven by genuine consumer demand or temporary discounts. This is important because while promotions can boost short-term sales, they tend to erode brand value over long periods of time. The measurement problem extends to acquisitions, where buyers lack the tools to distinguish real consumer demand from artificial promotional inflation.

The method of doing so involved visualizing the patterns of streetlights and their closest light readings to visualize which streetlights are underperforming using the Shiny package in R. This study examines how online discourse reflects public negotiation of neighborhood identity through a qualitative content analysis of Reddit discussions about the renaming of Chicago's Boystown neighborhood to Northalsted. Prior research on LGBTQ neighborhoods has emphasized gayborhoods as sites of safety, identity formation, political mobilization, commercialization, and uneven inclusion. This project builds on that scholarship by examining digital discourse as a site where place attachment, queer placemaking, and urban branding are debated in everyday language. This proposal introduces Mentor Circle, a structured, time-limited peer mentoring program designed to enhance the intellectual productivity of university faculty. Based on a successful pilot and supported by ten foundational theories in learning science, organizational behavior, and social psychology, Mentor Circle is a low-cost, high-impact intervention that can be embedded into existing faculty development infrastructure with minimal administrative burden.

The program pairs faculty members in assigned dyads for three-week cycles. Within each cycle, the pair meets for just ten minutes per week, alternating between Mentor and Mentee roles, or, if preferred, remaining in the same roles across subsequent cycles. Pilot …

Background: Irreversible hydrocolloid (alginate) is widely used for dental impressions, but its poor dimensional stability over time limits accuracy when delays in pouring occur. Enhancing its stability through material modification, such as incorporating condensation silicone, may improve clinical outcomes.

Materials and methods: Three groups (n = 10) were evaluated: Group I (conventional alginate, Avagel), Group II (extended-pour alginate, Hydrogum 5), and Group III (alginate modified with condensation silicone). Specimens were fabricated using standardized molds and stored under controlled humidity. Dimensional stability was assessed at five time points (immediate, 24, 48, 72, and 120 h) by measuring mass and linear dimensions. …
