Victorian poet Adelaide Anne Procter, a devout Catholic and a nineteenth-century feminist and social activist, was hugely popular in her lifetime for her devotional and sentimental poetry. However, scholars who have looked closely at her work have recognized that her poetry contains moments of tension that suggest they may be more than they appear on the surface. Such tensions and ironies are often glossed over or misread by readers whose expectations of Christian devotional messaging and domestic sentiment overshadow the contradictions. Manuscripts have long been analyzed for how they circulated alongside traditionally published texts, with scholars taking an interest in both the content and material form of such documents. In a print-centric era like the early nineteenth century, the surplus of published writing was sometimes framed as impersonal and generic. As such, material elements of manuscripts like paper, ink, and handwriting were increasingly valued as affective reflections of authors' bodies and circumstances. Book banning is becoming an increasingly prominent and contested issue in the United States. The focus usually lies on school and district policy, banned book lists, and state legislation, but the impact on the daily lives of teachers is often overlooked. Their decision-making processes are key to determining the books that make it into classrooms, and self-censorship often occurs prior to formal book bans (Watkins & Ostenson, 2015; Woo et al., 2023). Demographics & Diversity Training Among Counselors Serving Dhh Clients: A 2025 Field Study, Moss Maclean, Cheryl Wu

This project aims to determine the demographic composition and the multicultural competencies of counselors working with DHH clients. Currently, no comparable data exists. Findings indicate that most counselors are women, straight, and deaf. Common barriers to professional development include cost, transportation, access to interpreters, and access to training in ASL. Implications include the need to address barriers in existing professional development, innovative multicultural counseling training in ASL, and the need for interpreters and other cultural liaisons to facilitate home-school collaboration between Deaf schools and CLD families.

Rooted in Faith, my work explores child development by examining how children interpret Biblical truth and the various narratives found in Scripture. I am fascinated by how children learn and interpret life, but more importantly, how children interpret faith. I grew up in a family where Christ is the center of our lives.

Using simplified forms, vibrant colors, and smooth textures, I create fun, illustrative paintings. The works of Joel Schoon-Tanis inspire me to incorporate aesthetic choices that reference childhood and make the work more accessible. Cybersecurity Undergraduate Research Showcase

Universities face heightened vulnerability to phishing attacks due to their open information-sharing culture and diverse user populations. This study examines how phishing exploits human factors within campus environments and evaluates three major training strategies: embedded phishing, microlearning, and role-based instruction to understand their individual and combined effectiveness. I explored studies that implement these strategies in pairs and use the strategies alone, identified trends in susceptibility reduction, behavioral reinforcement, and contextual relevance. I suggest that, while each method independently improves user awareness, multiple approaches offer stronger, more adaptable protection by addressing both psychological triggers and role-specific risks. When a layperson uses ChatGPT to obtain feedback on a legal matter, attorney-client privilege may not apply, as ChatGPT is not a lawyer, much less a human. Further, while lawyers are entitled to protection for their opinion work-product, it is not clear whether self-represented litigants are entitled to the same protection. Additionally, the broader duty of confidentiality binds only attorneys, not AI systems like ChatGPT. The public increasingly uses AI tools such as ChatGPT. Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is diagnosed at late stages in the majority of cases despite its physically accessible location, resulting in five-year survival rates that drop from 90% at Stage I to below 50% at Stage III or IV. Current screening relies on visual examination and invasive biopsy, neither of which can detect the molecular changes that precede visible tumor formation. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) in saliva reflect tumor biology before lesions appear, but the signal spans over 2,000 species simultaneously, making traditional statistical methods insufficient for reliable diagnostic pattern extraction.

Prompt injection attacks, ranked the number-one vulnerability in AI systems by OWASP's 2025 Top 10 for Large Language Model Applications, remain largely unsolved, and this survey examines why. As large language models (LLMs) are deployed across enterprise workflows, agentic systems, and consumer tools, their fundamental inability to distinguish trusted instructions from untrusted user data has created a persistent and expanding attack surface. This paper presents a structured taxonomy of prompt injection attack vectors, including direct injection, indirect injection, multimodal attacks, tool and agent exploitation, hybrid chained techniques, and autonomous propagating threats. Objective:  To explore the barriers and facilitators for following a brain-healthy dietary pattern by assessing readiness, cognitive dietary adherence, eating competence, quality of life, and health beliefs in midlife adults. Design: Quantitative cross-sectional online survey. Participants: Adults aged 30-60 years (N=189) recruited through social media, flyers, email, and text. Main outcome measures: Readiness to adopt a brain-healthy dietary pattern, eating competence, health beliefs, quality of life, and dietary adherence to a brain-healthy pattern such as the MIND diet. Post-operative delirium (POD) is a neurocognitive complication that can arise in patients who have undergone a surgical procedure. It is characterized by the onset of reduced attention or cognition, mood or personality disturbances, and hallucinations that occur between 10 minutes to multiple days after waking up from anesthesia. These symptoms may only be brief, but in some cases can lead to long-term cognitive impairment and dysfunction and have been associated with the development of dementias. It is estimated that rates of POD occurrence are between 13.2- 41.7% with major risk factors including being over the age of 65 and the …

This project investigates influenza vaccine hesitancy among college‑aged individuals, the age group with the lowest national vaccination rates, to determine how these patterns manifest at Fisher. Building on my previous semester’s literature search, this semester focused on a deeper review of documented barriers and the development of an IRB‑approved survey tailored to Fisher students. Prior research highlights several predictors of vaccination, including past flu experience (a very strong predictor of vaccination behavior) and encouragement from trusted authorities. Examination Of The Hiring Process: Bias In Selection, Conor Johanson

Honors Theses

Racial discrimination in the hiring process remains a persistent problem despite decades of anti-discrimination legislation and widespread bias-awareness training. The present study examined whether resume quality and candidate race jointly influence hiring evaluations among human resource professionals, a population with formal training in equitable selection practices. Using a 2 × 2 between-subjects design, 129 HR professionals recruited through Prolific were randomly assigned to evaluate a high- or low-quality resume attributed to either a Black or White candidate. Participant evaluations were assessed across warmth-related and competence-related dimensions derived from the Stereotype Content Model, with Aversive Racism Theory guiding predictions about when …
