This thesis examines the mental health experiences of Queer People of Color (QPOC) through an intersectional infrastructure, highlighting how intersecting systems of sexuality/gender-based and racial oppression influence psychological outcomes. QPOC experience disproportionate levels of systemic violence, trauma, and chronic stress in comparison to both heterosexual people of color and white LGBTQ+ counterparts, leading to elevated risks of anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. Prior research often separates race from sexual and gender identity, restricting a thorough understanding of this community’s experiences. Despite growing evidence emphasizing the importance in addressing disparities in maternal health outcomes, maternal health simulations often lack integration of social determinants of health (SDOH) and cultural considerations. The purpose of this Doctor of Nursing Practice quality improvement project was to enhance nursing faculty cultural awareness through simulation scenarios that incorporate SDOH and culturally responsive elements. This project was guided by Lewin’s Change Theory and the Jeffries Simulation Framework. The aim was to strengthen faculty awareness and skills to support the development of culturally inclusive simulation experiences. Schizophrenia is a chronic psychiatric disorder associated with relapse, hospitalization, and poor outcomes when medication adherence is suboptimal. Nonadherence increases morbidity and healthcare utilization (World Health Organization, 2022; Zhao et al., 2025). Long-acting injectable (LAI) antipsychotics improve adherence and reduce hospitalization, but inconsistent monitoring and documentation in outpatient settings hinder early identification of missed doses (Lieslehto et al., 2022). This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) quality improvement project aimed to evaluate whether staff education and structured refill-monitoring processes improve identification and documentation of nonadherence to LAI antipsychotics. Urgent care settings present significant challenges, including limited staffing and resources, unpredictable patient acuity, and training deficiencies. These factors contribute to a competency gap among medical assistants, limiting their ability to recognize and respond to medical emergencies. The purpose of this quality improvement project is to impact emergency medical preparedness through a formal educational intervention. Grounded in Lewin’s Change Model and the Kirkpatrick Model, the project aims to improve emergency medical competency, consistent with evidence supporting structured training approaches. Graph pattern mining is essential for analyzing dynamic networks, where graphs evolve over time. To accommodate these changes, existing solutions update match sets incrementally, avoiding the need to re-mine the entire graph and achieving significant performance improvements. However, these methods suffer from inefficiencies due to redundant set intersection operations across subgraph instances, causing performance degradation. In this paper, we propose Gopher, a DAG-driven dynamic graph pattern mining system that leverages computation locality for enhanced performance. Gopher uses DAGs to represent set operations, identifying and merging common subexpressions at compile time. This reduces redundant computations during runtime. To maximize performance, we …

Attacks on network components and devices pose a significant threat to service continuity, necessitating robust detection mechanisms. This paper presents a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack detection framework tailored for heterogeneous mobile wireless networks within a Software-Defined Networking architecture. A two-tier model is proposed: localized attack detection at access points (APs) using a Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) classifier, and centralized detection under mobility at the controller using a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model. This project examines child protection outcomes in Minnesota through a structural and inequality focused lens, analyzing how poverty, housing instability, racism, and system overlap shape family involvement with Child Protective Services (CPS). This literature review draws from sociology, anthropology, social work, and child welfare research, to examine how child protection systems disproportionately surveil and penalize low-income families and families of color, often framing structural disadvantage as an individual parental failure rather than a systemic or institutional issue. Background: Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting is common in patients who receive highly emetogenic chemotherapy (HEC). Olanzapine acts on multiple neurotransmitters and effectively reduces delayed-phase nausea.

Aim: To compare the safety and efficacy of olanzapine-based vs neurokinin-1 receptor antagonist-based antiemetic regimens in adults receiving HEC.

Methods: This review followed Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses 2020 guidelines and searched various databases like PubMed, Scopus, etc., between 2020-2025. 14 studies were included in the systematic review with 11 meeting the criteria for meta-analysis. Objective: To examine the associations of metabolic health and obesity phenotypes with liver fat accumulation and hepatic steatosis in adults. Methods: We analyzed 676 non-Hispanic white adults (18–95 years; 55.8% female) from the Fels Longitudinal Study using a cross-sectional design. Participants were classified into metabolically healthy normal weight (MHNW), metabolically healthy obesity (MHO), metabolically unhealthy normal weight (MUNW), and metabolically unhealthy obesity (MUO) phenotypes. Metabolically unhealthy status was defined as the presence of ≥1 metabolic dysfunction, consistent with prior epidemiological definitions; secondary analyses using ≥2 were also performed. Currently, there are 12 known species of Pediococcus, with P. Acidilactici and P. pentosaceus being the most well-known. P. pentosaceus is a Gram-positive, lactic acid bacterium, and is most often recognized for its wide usage as a probiotic and fermenter of wines and cheeses. It is also studied for its anti-inflammatory effects and antimicrobial properties against many common pathogens, such as Salmonella, Clostridium difficile, E.coli, etc.  However, the Pediococcus species can be an opportunistic pathogen in immunocompromised patients, and its resistance to glycopeptides and tetracycline limits treatment options.

The aim of this study is to determine the efficacy and safety profile of total navicular implants based on current literature.

Navicular insults such as high-energy trauma, osteonecrosis, and Muller-Weiss syndrome may result in avascular necrosis or a critical sized bone defect, conditions that are highly difficult to manage given current treatment modalities. Introduction: Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) for bunion correction has gained popularity due to favorable outcomes and reduced recovery times. However, most MIS techniques rely on commercial instrumentation for osteotomy, reduction, and fixation. This retrospective study evaluates patients treated with a novel tri-planar distal metatarsal osteotomy performed without specialized MIS guides, using only standard surgical tools and a novel device.

Trends show that most individuals who attend college are of a higher socioeconomic status and are therefore at a potentially lower risk of criminal offending. The implied warranty of habitability requires landlords to ensure that their rental properties are safe, sanitary, and habitable for tenants regardless of whether these requirements are explicitly stated in the lease. It requires a landlord to maintain their property, make necessary repairs, provide essential services, and ensure the property is free of pests and other hazards.
