Background: Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting is common in patients who receive highly emetogenic chemotherapy (HEC). Olanzapine acts on multiple neurotransmitters and effectively reduces delayed-phase nausea.

Aim: To compare the safety and efficacy of olanzapine-based vs neurokinin-1 receptor antagonist-based antiemetic regimens in adults receiving HEC.

Methods: This review followed Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses 2020 guidelines and searched various databases like PubMed, Scopus, etc., between 2020-2025. 14 studies were included in the systematic review with 11 meeting the criteria for meta-analysis. Objective: To examine the associations of metabolic health and obesity phenotypes with liver fat accumulation and hepatic steatosis in adults. Methods: We analyzed 676 non-Hispanic white adults (18–95 years; 55.8% female) from the Fels Longitudinal Study using a cross-sectional design. Participants were classified into metabolically healthy normal weight (MHNW), metabolically healthy obesity (MHO), metabolically unhealthy normal weight (MUNW), and metabolically unhealthy obesity (MUO) phenotypes. Metabolically unhealthy status was defined as the presence of ≥1 metabolic dysfunction, consistent with prior epidemiological definitions; secondary analyses using ≥2 were also performed. Currently, there are 12 known species of Pediococcus, with P. Acidilactici and P. pentosaceus being the most well-known. P. pentosaceus is a Gram-positive, lactic acid bacterium, and is most often recognized for its wide usage as a probiotic and fermenter of wines and cheeses. It is also studied for its anti-inflammatory effects and antimicrobial properties against many common pathogens, such as Salmonella, Clostridium difficile, E.coli, etc.  However, the Pediococcus species can be an opportunistic pathogen in immunocompromised patients, and its resistance to glycopeptides and tetracycline limits treatment options.

The aim of this study is to determine the efficacy and safety profile of total navicular implants based on current literature.

Navicular insults such as high-energy trauma, osteonecrosis, and Muller-Weiss syndrome may result in avascular necrosis or a critical sized bone defect, conditions that are highly difficult to manage given current treatment modalities. Total navicular implants may offer a solution to these problems. While 3D printing of implants remains investigational, its use in highly individualized cases involving the talus has had promising results with conditions like avascular necrosis, tumors, trauma, and arthritis. Introduction: Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) for bunion correction has gained popularity due to favorable outcomes and reduced recovery times. However, most MIS techniques rely on commercial instrumentation for osteotomy, reduction, and fixation. This retrospective study evaluates patients treated with a novel tri-planar distal metatarsal osteotomy performed without specialized MIS guides, using only standard surgical tools and a novel device.

Previous research has established a link between parental criminality and crimes of offspring. Low socioeconomic status has also been established as a risk factor to criminal behavior. Trends show that most individuals who attend college are of a higher socioeconomic status and are therefore at a potentially lower risk of criminal offending. The implied warranty of habitability requires landlords to ensure that their rental properties are safe, sanitary, and habitable for tenants regardless of whether these requirements are explicitly stated in the lease. It requires a landlord to maintain their property, make necessary repairs, provide essential services, and ensure the property is free of pests and other hazards. Under the implied warranty of habitability, tenants are given recourse options when a violation of the required standard occurs.

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD), the most common inherited kidney disorder, is characterized by progressive cyst growth and eventual organ failure. Although aberrant innate immune activation is a recognized contributor to PKD progression, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain incompletely defined. Here, we showed that Pkd1 deletion increased TLR2 and MyD88 mRNA expression in renal epithelial cells, indicating enhanced innate immune priming. In vivo, administration of Pam3CSK4 (PAM), a synthetic TLR2 agonist, preferentially amplified pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic responses in Pkd1^RC/RC mice compared with wild-type controls, despite inducing similar signaling responses in vitro. This research investigates the disproportionate impact of substance use disorders (SUD) on Black women, a population facing critically low treatment retention rates, evidenced by outpatient dropout rates averaging 55%. Despite the efficacy of sustained treatment, Black women consistently underutilize and prematurely exit services compared to other demographics. This study asserts that identifying the drivers behind these disparities requires a shift from traditional public health lenses toward a framework that centers racial oppression, systemic barriers, and cultural obstacles.

265 Screens documents twenty-nine cinemas across six states which shut down since March 15, 2020. My project blends photography with cinematography set in a darkened space creating an alternative cinematic experience - reflecting on the changing film industry through the rise of digital technologies and what it means to lose these physical spaces that connect us. Digital streaming has made it possible to watch films at home or alone on a mobile device – creating more isolated viewing experiences. BodyRevolt examines the body as a mutable site shaped through performance, material intervention, and photographic mediation. Working across still and moving image, I stage choreographic interactions between my body and constructed forms—materials that function as both extensions and substitutions—destabilizing the notion of a fixed bodily truth. Scholars have long emphasized the harmful effects of overtly sexist and oppressive media images on young people’s understandings of sex and relationships. Yet, this emphasis on explicit harm leaves a gap in understanding how college students interpret subtle, hidden, and ambiguous media messages. To address this gap, we asked 196 California college students at a large public university to critique a range of mainstream media content—from overtly oppressive, to affirming of nondominant gender identities, to containing mixed messages about empowerment and oppression. This study examines the psychological impact of prolonged grief among families of coal mining pit drowning victims and evaluates the effectiveness of peace counseling as an intervention strategy. The study aims to assess whether structured counseling can reduce grief loss and support adaptive psychological adjustment. A quantitative quasi-experimental approach was employed using a Single Subject Research (SSR) A–B–A design involving two participants who were mothers of the victims. Data were collected using the Grief Losing Scale administered repeatedly across baseline (A1), intervention (B), and post-intervention (A2) phases. Although Infant-directed speech (IDS) involves modifications of speech to facilitate child’s language acquisition, this area of research needs more evidence on the maintenance of segmental contrasts. Drawing on a longitudinal corpus of conversation recordings of a Lebanese mother and her young son over eight months at Newcastle University, this acoustic study examined IDS with a focus on Lebanese Arabic (LA). It analyzed single and double coronal consonants (C) in two-and three-syllable trochaic words with short vowels (V). This study examines representations of the city of Riyadh in poetry through the lens of Conceptual Metaphor Theory as an analytical framework within cognitive linguistics, with the aim of revealing how the city’s spatial and environmental features are reconfigured into conceptual structures that contribute to the construction of meanings of identity and belonging.
