Quantifying Overconsumption In The United States: A Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, Morgan Davis

This study examines overconsumption in the United States by analyzing how socioeconomic factors influence household spending relative to income. Overconsumption is defined as elevated discretionary spending relative to income, with a focus on categories such as apparel, entertainment, and food away from home. Using 2024 Consumer Expenditure Survey (CEX) data, three multiple linear regression models were created to evaluate predictors of overall consumption, discretionary consumption, and apparel spending as proportions of income.

Results show that income is the most significant predictor across all models, with higher-income households consistently spending a smaller share of their income. Age and household size also …

This study examined the longitudinal relationships among eighth grade mathematics proficiency, high school physics availability, AP® Physics exam participation, and ACT STEM scores across Wisconsin public school districts. A retrospective, multi-cohort design was used, and two cohorts were tracked from middle school through junior year. Publicly available datasets were analyzed using an applied data science approach in R, incorporating exploratory visualization, univariate and bivariate analyses, and multivariate regression modeling. Results indicated a positive association between eighth-grade mathematics proficiency and ACT STEM outcomes. In this dissertation, I examine how moral emotions feature within the habituation of virtues. I suggest that their primary role within the moral life is epistemic: emotions grant agents perceptual access to evaluative properties in the world. I argue that their perceptual function within habit formation is normatively indispensable. I proceed through five methodological movements. I begin by presenting the three historical accounts of emotion I take as most influential on contemporary Western beliefs about emotion and as most dominant within the philosophy of emotion. Stress among nursing students has been associated with enduring negative impacts to personal wellness, future professional practice, and patient outcomes. The design and main parameters of a plasma–chemical reactor containing two compartments are presented. One compartment houses a vacuum-arc evaporator, while the other houses a planar magnetron. The compartments are separated by a diaphragm with a dosing slot for injecting copper vapor into the TiN synthesis compartment. The conditions for the synthesis of superhard TiN-Cu composite coatings are experimentally determined. Based on established process parameters for TiN synthesis in a nitrogen-containing plasma by Ti evaporation using a vacuum-arc discharge, it is proposed to apply TiN-Cu coatings by injecting Cu vapor into the TiN synthesis area and sputtering Cu using a …

While the mature gustatory and trigeminal systems are capable of regeneration following surgical nerve transection, transections occurring early in life result in permanent effects on innervated tissues. Converging evidence suggests that facilitators of the innate immune response, such as neutrophils, may contribute to these developmental differences in injury recovery. In the current study, Sprague-Dawley rats underwent transection of the trigeminal lingual nerve (LX) or gustatory chorda tympani nerve (CTX) at either 10, 25, or 65 days of age. Significance/Background: Outpatient oncology infusion areas are high-volume, high-acuity environments where nurses must rapidly adapt to evolving therapies. Yet, nurse-centered education often lags behind, contributing to frustration, workflow inefficiencies, and safety concerns. A newly created NPD specialist role—dedicated to infusion/procedural areas—offered an opportunity to close persistent gaps.

Environmental scanning revealed inconsistent, pharmacy-driven education lacking nursing-specific content (e.g., hypersensitivity risk, treatment parameters, symptom management). Nurses described feeling overlooked and unprepared.

Interdisciplinary collaboration was viewed as ineffective, and last-minute education failed to support safe administration of high-risk therapies.

This study examines how motivation relates to negative emotional experiences across three groups: individuals with autism, individuals with social anxiety, and a control group. As shown in Figure 1, higher motivation is associated with lower levels of negative feelings across all groups, indicating a consistent inverse relationship.

Baseline differences are evident, with individuals with social anxiety reporting the highest negative feelings, followed by those with autism, and the control group reporting the lowest. The clinical value of serial bone age (BA) determinations in children during growth is limited by the manual rater variability (precision 0.63 years). The objective of this work was to determine the precision of automated bone age and bone health index (BHI) measurements by BoneXpert and to establish the time interval at which the automated method can detect a significant treatment effect. The data were from a case-control trial (oxandrolone/placebo) following 90 boys with Klinefelter syndrome (KS) with five visits over 2 years, recording X-rays of both hands. Lempuyang Wangi (Zingiber Aromaticum Val.) is a medicinal plant widely used in traditional medicine in Southeast Asia. This study aimed to extract and analyze the secondary metabolites from the rhizomes of Lempuyang Wangi using the maceration method with three different solvents: n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and 96% ethanol. The extraction yielded varying percentages depending on the solvent used, with the ethyl acetate extract having the highest yield at 16.26%. Phytochemical screening identified the presence of alkaloids, phenolics, and flavonoids in all extracts, with the ethanol and ethyl acetate extracts showing a broader range of compounds. The geographic distribution of arenaviruses reflects the range of their rodent reservoirs, resulting in the classification into Old World and New World groups, with New World arenaviruses further subdivided into clades A–D. We consider a variant of the well-known Traveling Salesman Problem where the salesman must return to the starting point after each delivery. Ramanathan et al. asked whether different starting locations in a network yield the same total travel distance. The transmission of a vertex $u$ is defined to be $T(u)=\sum\limits_{v\in V(G)}d(u,v)$ where $d(u,v)$ is the number of edges in a shortest path between $u$ and $v$.  For specialized families of graphs, we investigate necessary and sufficient conditions for a graph to have distinct transmissions.  Graph asymmetry is a necessary condition for unique transmissions. Due to overlapping clinical symptoms, FTD is frequently misdiagnosed as AD.
