Jurnal Keolahragaan

Dysmenorrhea is frequently reported by adolescents. Physical exercises is one method of overcoming the symptoms of primary dysmenorrhea. Consistent physical activity has been shown to induce the synthesis of endorphins, which function as analgesics within the body. This study presents a comprehensive review to synthesize evidence regarding the relation between physical activity or exercise with dysmenorrhea and how exercise can ameliorate dysmenorrhea in adolescents. This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method to identify articles published within the last three years (2021-2023) via PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. This process yielded seven pertinent …

Enhanced Post Deposition Annealing Conditions On The Fabrication Of High Quality Thermochromic Vanadium Dioxide Films, Nuru R. Mlyuka Apr 2024

Enhanced Post Deposition Annealing Conditions On The Fabrication Of High Quality Thermochromic Vanadium Dioxide Films, Nuru R. Mlyuka

Tanzania Journal of Engineering and Technology (TJET)

Sputter deposition of thermochromic VO2 thin films for smart window applications has been faced with several challenges including the need for high deposition temperature, extremely precise and narrow range of oxygen/argon flow ratio and target poisoning during sputtering. Deposition of VO2 at room temperature without oxygen followed by post-deposition annealing has been cited as one of the potential mitigations to the challenge. In this study, the effects of post-deposition annealing conditions on the structural, electrical and optical properties of VO2 thin films are reported. The films were prepared on soda lime glass substrates using DC magnetron sputtering of metallic vanadium …

Emergency Department Utilization By South Carolina Patients With Type 2 Diabetes: A Needs Assessment To Inform Primary Care Access And Telehealth Improvement, Beverly Wilson Holmes

MUSC Theses and Dissertations

BACKGROUND: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a major population health issue that affects 9.4% of the United States (US) while disproportionately affecting minority populations. T2D is highly prevalent and correlated with increased morbidity as well as early mortality rates, making it the seventh leading cause of death in the US in 2019. There is a high prevalence of T2D in the US and approximately 7 million people are undiagnosed.

OBJECTIVE: To assess if race plays a role in ED utilization and identify geographic areas where improvement in primary care and support by telehealth would be of greatest value. …

Need Analysis For Innovation In Integrated Learning Models For Micro-Teaching Course: Explanatory Sequential Design, Jusuf Blegur, Amung Ma'mun, Berliana Berliana, Agus Mahendra, Michelle Mordeno Layao

Jurnal Keolahragaan

One of the keys to successful learning model development is conducting a comprehensive needs analysis on actual performance, desired performance, and causes of performance gaps. This research aims to analyze student performance needs so that they can become a credible basis for consideration when designing the syntax of learning experiences for integrated learning models for micro-teaching courses. Researchers used an explanatory sequential design when completing the study, so quantitative research became the main focus for data collection and analysis, which was emphasized by qualitative studies. There were 107 research respondents, namely 75 students, two lecturers, and 30 physical education teachers. …

Behavioral, Physiological, And Circadian Effects Of Constant Light On Bling C3h/Hen And C3h/Hej, Samantha G. Burke Apr 2024

Behavioral, Physiological, And Circadian Effects Of Constant Light On Bling C3h/Hen And C3h/Hej, Samantha G. Burke

Honors Program Theses and Projects

Circadian disruptions are quite detrimental to one’s health- leading to many different diseases. The suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) (center of regulation of the circadian clock) can perceive light from the retina, allowing the SCN to register cues such as light to aid in regulating the biological clock. Due to this connection constant light is a common disruption, which can cause increased hyperactivity, anxiety, and altered circadian rhythm in mice. This study’s purpose is to determine how two rhodopsin lacking blind sub-strains of C3H mice respond to constant light regarding their behavior, physiology, and their circadian clock, as well as investigating any …
