Phytochemical Composition Of Clinacanthus Nutans Based On Factors Of Environment, Genetics And Postharvest Processes: A Review, Nurul Hamizah Sabindo, Rusidah Mat Yatim, Kannan Thirumulu Ponnuraj

BioMedicine

Herpes simplex, varicella-zoster lesions, skin rashes, diabetes, snake bites and insect bites have all been treated by using Clinacanthus nutans (C. nutans). The pharmacological effects of C. nutans are influenced by the presence of terpenoids, flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolic acids, saponins, glycosides, steroids and tannins. This review focused on the phytochemical makeup, which varies geographically and is a subject of scarcely existing knowledge. C. nutans served as the primary search term, while the keywords “phytochemicals”, “chemical component” and “phytochemistry” were used to search the literature in the Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science databases. The articles pertinent to the …

A View On Climate Change And Its Impact On The Mediterranean Fisheries, Evelyn Ragheb May 2024

A View On Climate Change And Its Impact On The Mediterranean Fisheries, Evelyn Ragheb

Blue Economy

Fisheries in the Mediterranean Sea are multi-specific and multi-fleet; the artisanal or small-scale fisheries, the trawling fisheries, and the seining fisheries. Currently, the Mediterranean Sea is a hotspot of climate changes. The climate change is a global phenomenon affecting the whole world, its impact is different with regions, and is affected by uncertainty. In marine waters, three climatic changes are the most important: warming, acidification and oxygen loss (deoxygenation). There are many observed impacts (positive or negative impacts) on the different regions of the Mediterranean coastal waters, and many regional models are used to predict the implication of the climate …

Improving Reliability Of Distributed Storage By Anomaly Detection Using Machine Learning And Autonomous Data Healing, Puneet Mahajan May 2024

Improving Reliability Of Distributed Storage By Anomaly Detection Using Machine Learning And Autonomous Data Healing, Puneet Mahajan

Defensive Publications Series

Maintaining data integrity and reliability in distributed storage systems is a complex and important challenge. Distributed storage systems are susceptible to various issues, such as data corruption, data loss, and data inconsistencies, arising from hardware failures, network disruptions, software defects, synchronization errors, security breaches, etc. Current techniques such as redundant storage devices, use of erasure coding, data snapshots/backup, etc. are reactive and cannot address data integrity issues before they manifest or at an early stage. Costly manual intervention is necessary to mitigate data integrity issues but can cause delays or introduce errors. This disclosure describes the use of machine learning …

Dynamic Data Access Framework Using Symbolic Links And Context-Aware Caching, Puneet Mahajan May 2024

Dynamic Data Access Framework Using Symbolic Links And Context-Aware Caching, Puneet Mahajan

Defensive Publications Series

Managing and accessing data in distributed computing environments presents several challenges that traditional techniques often fail to address efficiently and adaptively. In distributed computing environments, data is replicated across various locations to ensure availability and performance. However, this has several drawbacks including high costs, complexity in data management, inefficient resource utilization, use of static data access strategies, high latency, etc. Data virtualization, data federation, distributed file systems, etc. do not provide responsive data storage that is dynamically updated based on real-time usage patterns and that can help reduce data storage costs. This disclosure describes a dynamic framework that integrates context-aware …

What Climate Change Means For Nebraska May 2024

What Climate Change Means For Nebraska

United States Environmental Protection Agency: Publications

Nebraska’s climate is changing. In the past century, most of the state has warmed by at least one degree (F). The soil is becoming drier, and rainstorms are becoming more intense. In the coming decades, flooding is likely to increase, yet summers are likely to become increasingly hot and dry, which would reduce yields of some crops, require farmers to use more water, and amplify some risks to human health.

Our climate is changing because the earth is warming. People have increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the air by 40 percent since the late 1700s. Other heat-trapping greenhouse …
