Effects Of Niobium On The Mechanical And Oxidation Properties Of Additively Manufactured Tungsten, Alexander Lesieur, Cayla Eckley, Ryan A. Kemnitz

Although additive manufacturing presents a novel and customizable approach to fabricating tungsten (W) alloys, the layer-by-layer production technique presents a unique set of processing challenges which are further exacerbated by the metal’s refractory properties. In this study, additions of niobium (Nb) were found to improve the mechanical properties and oxidation resistance of additively manufactured W. Microstructural investigation revealed the effect of Nb on the cracking, grain size, and texture in the as-built material. Mechanical compression testing showed significant improvement in ductility with increasing Nb content. The low concentrations of Nb used did not induce large changes in the yield strength …

Despite the absence of documentary evidence like joint bank accounts or wills, the court found the tenant proved the requisite family member relationship and co-residency through compelling testimony from four disinterested witnesses. The court determined that two years of signing lease renewals in the prior tenant's name after his death did not prejudice the landlord, especially given a 2023 amendment to the Public Housing Law. First, petitioner, as a landlord of a tenant with a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, failed to serve the required VAWA notice and certification form with the predicate rent demand as required by 24 CFR § 5.2005(a). Second, the subject premises being a covered property under the CARES Act required petitioner to serve a 30-day notice before commencing the proceeding; petitioner served only a 14-day rent demand.

Purpose: This study examined whether autoregulation (AR) of set volume led to different hypertrophy outcomes compared to following a fixed training program. We hypothesized that AR would lead to superior hypertrophy. Further, we examined relationships between various subjective feedback metrics and hypertrophy in an exploratory fashion.

Methods: Thirty-four trained men and women had their upper limbs randomized to either an AR condition (AUTO) or a fixed condition (FIX) for unilateral biceps curl training over 10 weeks. These lecture slides introduce deep learning compilers for a graduate compiler-construction course (CSc 81010). Building on the classical compiler pipeline, they show how modern machine-learning systems compile tensor programs: static tensor and type analysis (illustrated by a WALA/Ariadne-based refactoring of imperative TensorFlow code to graph mode), MLIR-based end-to-end compilation with IREE, and the PyTorch 2.x stack—TorchDynamo graph capture, AOTAutograd, PrimTorch operator decomposition, and TorchInductor lowering to Triton (GPU) and C++/OpenMP (CPU). Public opinion about election integrity and election administration is frequently cited in policy debates in the United States. Due to their role in administering elections, local election officials (LEOs) provide an authoritative voice on election-related matters. Yet it remains unclear whether differences between LEO and public opinion reflect compositional differences between these groups or fundamentally distinct ways of evaluating election integrity and reform. We compare the main predictors of opinions about election administration for LEOs and the public in the United States on election integrity, voting values, and election reforms using national surveys from 2020 and 2024. The invasive tomato leafminer, Tuta absoluta (Meyrick), is a very destructive pest that poses a major threat to tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) production in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), causing extensive yield losses through larval feeding on leaves, stems, and fruits. Chemical insecticides remain the primary control method, but resistance development, biodiversity loss and environmental concerns necessitate alternative strategies. Richter transformation (RT) to diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is an aggressive lymphoma that arises from underlying chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma. RT is often chemorefractory, resulting in poor clinical outcomes with standard chemoimmunotherapy. Mosunetuzumab, a bispecific CD20/CD3 T-cell-engaging antibody, was investigated in a cohort of 20 patients with relapsed/refractory RT. Cytokine release syndrome occurred in 65% of patients, almost exclusively grade 1 (20%) or grade 2 (40%), and occurring during the first treatment cycle. Other adverse events included infections, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, tumor flare, and low-grade neurotoxicity, with no adverse events leading to treatment discontinuation. Process evaluation of implementation strategies is increasingly common, but a review by Bracci et al. showed that room for improvement exists. In this contribution, we complement their recommendations by ideas on the design of process evaluations. Process evaluations are meant to provide explanations for why implementation strategies were effective, or not effective. Therefore, they are best guided by theory or frameworks, but the frequent focus on intervention acceptability reflects a lack of imagination on moderators and mediators that influence outcomes. Intervention fidelity is relevant in all process evaluations. Meaningful synthesis of process evaluation studies requires a homogeneous outcome, such as …

The cochlea systematically encodes sound frequency and intensity via a precisely organized tonotopic map, in which traveling waves peak at specific cochlear locations. A fundamental but incompletely understood aspect of auditory coding involves how stimulus intensity shapes this tonotopic organization. In animal models, increasing intensity shifts the cochlear traveling wave peak basally; however, physiological evidence for such intensity-dependent shifts in human cochlear processing is limited. Here, we performed simultaneous multielectrode electrocochleography recordings along the human scala tympani to characterize how cochlear place coding varies as a function of stimulus intensity. Direct Blue 15 (DB15) is a long-lasting synthetic dye that pollutes water and is difficult to remove during wastewater treatment. Conventional treatments fail to remove DB15 adequately due to rapid electron-hole recombination, which necessitates photocatalysts with reduced recombination rates for effective dye removal. The study aims to synthesize and evaluate a CuO-ZnO-NiO ternary system as an integrated adsorption and UV-A photocatalysis platform for DB15 removal. Ficus leaf-extracted CuO-ZnO-NiO nanocomposites with four Cu:Zn:Ni ratios (1:1:1, 1:1:2, 1:2:1, 2:1:1) were prepared by co-precipitation, followed by extensive chemical and physical characterization and dye-removal performance measurements.
