Introduction – Traditional approaches to African security often treat neocolonialism, governance failures, and terrorism as isolated issues, obscuring their systemic interconnections under Anthropocene conditions of human-induced environmental change. This study argues that African security should be reconceptualized in light of climate change, resource depletion, and ecosystem degradation, as these dynamics reshape the continent's collective security arrangements. We compute the ground-state binding energy of muonic (Formula presented) (Formula presented) Be in two ways: first, the fully perturbative treatment of the nuclear-size effect often employed in light systems, and second, an approach that accounts for the finite-nuclear-size to all orders (and is inspired by calculations otherwise employed for heavy muonic ions). This dissertation examines how heritage governance in Belize shapes the representation, recognition, and participation of Afro-descendant communities within national cultural institutions and policy frameworks. Focusing on Creole/Kriol and Garifuna communities, the study analyses how law, institutional designs, museum practises, tourism development, and community-based heritage work to produce uneven forms of cultural visibility. I argue that Afro-descendant communities are not absent from Belizean heritage. Rather, their cultural presence has not consistently translated into institutional authority, sustained investments, or meaningful participation in decisions about national representation. Trauma-informed care (TIC) has been recognized as a critical framework for supporting individuals on the autism spectrum, intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and those within residential facilities given their heightened risk for experiencing adverse events, including trauma. However, the development and evaluation of a trauma-informed behavior analytic assessment and intervention approach is lacking. Although behavior analysts frequently target behaviors associated with trauma, research suggests that many practitioners have limited training, supervision and competence in TIC, despite widespread recognition of its importance. Cancer remains one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide, and machine learning is well positioned to leverage the large volumes of routinely collected clinical and imaging data to improve patient outcomes. Realizing this potential at scale requires three capabilities that current practice does not yet deliver in combination: models that integrate the multiple data modalities clinicians use, training procedures that respect institutional data-sharing constraints, and tooling that enables sharing of de-identified data when federated approaches are not sufficient. Pediatric cancer survivors are at increased risk for obesity and related long-term health complications, highlighting the need for interventions promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors during survivorship. The present study examined caregivers’ fruit and vegetable intake in the full NOURISH-T+ intervention and evaluated whether their dietary outcomes changed from baseline to the 3-month post-assessment and differed by selected caregiver sociodemographic characteristics. The study also examined whether these characteristics accounted for variance in 3-month fruit and vegetable outcomes. Multi-informant assessment is a common method used by school psychologists to collect data on students' social-emotional and behavioral concerns across the three tiers of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. While this data can provide a comprehensive understanding of student functioning, informant discrepancies are common, and little is known about how school psychologists make sense of discrepant data or whether using structured frameworks can support their interpretation. Structural factors within the health care system, as well as discriminatory practices, affect the quality of care received by at-risk populations. This dissertation uses a mixed-methods research design to examine perceived EOLCQ across racial/ethnic and gender groups. Both notices included a GCEL notice. The court dismissed the proceeding, holding that alternative pleading is prejudicial where it results in conflicting termination notices with different vacate dates, and that landlord made no effort to ascertain the true nature of tenants' possession prior to commencing the proceeding.

Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) programs are central to Traffic Incident Management (TIM), delivering rapid response, clearance, and motorist assistance on high-volume corridors. The prevailing continuous roaming patrol model provides broad coverage but generates substantial non-productive vehicle-miles traveled (VMT), increases responders’ exposure to risk, and treats Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance as a statistical outcome rather than a fixed operational constraint. Existing literature lacks a framework that simultaneously optimizes corridor segmentation, jointly deploys patrol and staged units across space, time, and direction, and enforces response-time SLA as a binding constraint.

Histopathological examination using hematoxylin and eosin (H&E)-stained tissue is sufficient for diagnosing most melanocytic neoplasms as benign or malignant; however, diagnostic tools such as PRAME (preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma) immunohistochemistry (IHC) and the 23-gene expression profile (23-GEP) test can aid in the analysis of histopathologically ambiguous lesions, which can be referred to as diagnostically challenging, equivocal, indeterminate, or uncertain. When compared with the gold standard of H&E diagnosis by a dermatopathologist, PRAME IHC showed 83.2% sensitivity and 99.3% specificity in an initial validation cohort and 23-GEP showed 91.5% sensitivity and 92.7% specificity in an independent validation cohort. This practice-led research proposes recurrence as a systematic photographic method, where Derrida's concept of iterability is achieved through controlled visual iteration. Through recurrence, identical objects undergo transformation across iterations because variations in light, motion and environmental conditions produce perceptual instability rather than visual sameness. This process produces uncanny effects identifiable through perceptual ambiguity (Jentsch), environmental transformation and reappearance of overlooked materials (Schelling). The work engages pre-Freudian concepts of the uncanny - Jentsch's intellectual uncertainty and Schelling's definition of the uncanny as ``something that should have remained hidden but has returned to light.'' Circuits based on superconducting nanostructures are among the most promising platforms for quantum computing. Understanding how device geometry governs nonlinear electrodynamics is crucial for implementing superconducting quantum technologies. However, to date, research has largely been limited to superconducting nanostructures with collinearly aligned static and dynamic applied magnetic fields. Here, we analyze the dynamics of Meissner currents and Abrikosov vortices in a superconducting nanocube exposed to combined static and microwave magnetic fields, extending the analysis to a more general excitation geometry. Evaluation And Risk Stratification Of Ventricular Premature Complexes In Athletes: Practical Considerations For Differentiating Benign From Malignant Arrhythmias, Jacky Kit Chan, Erik Fung

Ventricular premature complexes (VPCs) are common in athletes, but distinguishing benign VPCs from malignant arrhythmias remains a clinical challenge. This review summarizes current evidence on VPC evaluation and risk stratification in athletes, emphasizing electrocardiographic (ECG) features, burden, morphology, coupling interval, and exercise response. While VPC prevalence in athletes mirrors the general population, high-risk features–such as non-fascicular, non-outflow tract morphologies (e.g., superior axis or wide QRS), short coupling intervals (<300 ms), and VPC exacerbation during exercise - correlate with underlying structural heart disease (e.g.,arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, idiopathic left ventricular scar) and adverse outcomes. Guideline-directed assessment recommends comprehensive evaluation for athletes with high VPC burden (>10%), complex arrhythmias, or abnormal imaging. Key findings include: (1) VPC-induced cardiomyopathy risk rises with burden >5–10%, though low-burden VPCs may still indicate arrhythmogenic substrates; (2) uncommon morphologies (e.g., non-fascicular, non-outflow …

Vascular closure devices (VCD) are commonly used for rapid haemostasis after femoral arterial cannulation, however, serious adverse events may rarely occur. We describe a case where use of Perclose Proglide for closure of the right femoral artery (RFA) access site led to focal arterial dissection, entrapping the footplate of a second Proglide device during staged percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The trapped device was eventually extracted using intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)-guided balloon angioplasty with cross-over approach. This case highlights the potential complications of VCD and possible endovascular strategies in tackling such issues.

The administrative silence is constructed as a legal fiction that originated as a negative (silence as refusal) and has since developed into a positive (silence as acceptance). In European administrative law, no system operates exclusively based on one legal fiction. Both negative and positive fictions are employed with defined limitations, as in France. Lassa fever is a viral zoonotic disease that sickens tens of thousands of people each year when it spills over from its rodent reservoir throughout West Africa.
