Thermal Straps: Aluminum 1235 Foil Qualification Summary, Holly Mortensen Oct 2024

Thermal Straps: Aluminum 1235 Foil Qualification Summary, Holly Mortensen

Space Dynamics Laboratory Publications

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) first developed thermal strap technology in 1994 when we designed, built, and tested the SABER instrument, which is still on orbit and has performed flawlessly since 2001. Since then, we have continued to pioneer solderless flexible thermal straps and supporting technologies.

SDL’s heritage thermal straps used aluminum 1145 foil, an extremely pure alloy that contains 99.45% aluminum content. Unfortunately, it is no longer readily procurable in the market. Aluminum 1235 is a very similar alloy with similar chemical composition and physical attributes, but more readily available than 1145.

This report documents the process and results in …

Journal of Shock and Hemodynamics

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has been recommended as the standard treatment for elderly patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) and those at increased risk for conventional surgical procedures. Recently, TAVR has been recognized as the treatment of choice for intermediate-risk patients or even low-risk populations with AS. Our study aimed to identify factors influencing adverse events after TAVR procedures. This single-center, retrospective cohort study involved patients with severe AS treated with TAVR from 2016 to 2019. The patient’s electronic medical record was reviewed, and those with valve-in-valve replacements and missing demographical data were excluded. We analyzed risk factors related …

All Decisions

Tenant's petition to annul the landlord's denial of his succession claim to a rent-stabilized apartment was denied. Under 28 RCNY 3-02(p)(3), the tenant failed to prove co-residency with the tenant of record (his aunt) from his birth, or when she vacated the apartment. His claim, identical to his mother's prior failed succession attempt, was rejected due to the same lack of credible evidence.

Evaluation Of Nematicides For Management Of Plant-Parasitic Nematodes In Sugarcane, Iris M. Aguilar Oct 2024

Evaluation Of Nematicides For Management Of Plant-Parasitic Nematodes In Sugarcane, Iris M. Aguilar

LSU Master's Theses

Plant-parasitic nematodes (PPN) are an understudied threat in sugarcane production. Previous survey work showed that Tylenchorhynchus (stunt nematode), Pratylenchus (lesion nematode), Mesocriconema (ring nematode), and Helicotylenchus (spiral nematode) are the primary PPN genera found in sugarcane fields in Louisiana. This study evaluated the impact of nematodes on sugarcane growth and the effect of nematicides on nematode population densities. Greenhouse studies were conducted using soil collected from multiple sugarcane fields with moderate PPN infestation levels to determine the nematode impact on sugarcane growth and nematicide efficacy. Field soil collected from each site was subjected to four treatments: an untreated and sterilized …

Between The Data Act And The Gdpr: Attributing Responsibility For Data Sharing, Antoni Napieralski Oct 2024

Between The Data Act And The Gdpr: Attributing Responsibility For Data Sharing, Antoni Napieralski

Yearbook of Antitrust and Regulatory Studies

The normative links between the GDPR and the Data Act increase the complexity of attributing responsibility for data sharing under the Data Act. Due to overlaps in the material scope of the GDPR and the Data Act, exercising access rights stipulated by the DA leads to consequences in attributing controllership under the GDPR. Users who are not data subjects, together with third parties receiving the requested data, are likely to become joint controllers. Judicial interpretation of the concept of joint controllership effectively lowered the threshold of becoming a joint controller. In pursuit of the effective protection of the data subject, …

Nev. Policy Research Inst. V. Miller [State Of Nevada], 140 Nev. Adv. Op. 69 (Oct. 31, 2024), George Mcmullin

Nevada Supreme Court Summaries

The Court ruled that dual employment involving state legislators and their employment by Nevada System of Higer Education (NSHE) or by local government does not violate the state’s constitutional separation of powers. The Court reasoned that NSHE is not part of the executive branch, and employment within NSHE does not constitute dual executive-legislative service. Similarly, employment within local government entities is distinct from the function of the executive branch—therefore allowing legislators to concurrently hold education and local government positions without infringing on separation of powers principles. Accordingly, the Court affirmed the dismissal of claims that these dual roles breached constitutional …
