In current HDD design, reallocation is a remapping between logical and physical address, the reallocations are treated as LLRW error, and extra disc requests, seeks are needed to process reallocations. The reallocation count is visible through SMART which could show unhealthy status to users. Although reallocations can be cached by current data caching scheme, it is temporary, and not available if users turn off caching feature, or enabling FUA mode. The disclosure relates to an induction cooking hob (1) comprising at least one cooking area (2,3) being defined by having three induction coils (4,5,6), wherein in the respective cooking area (2,3) has a row-shape, and wherein the three induction coils (4,5,6) each are associated to an interaction area (7) having a particular size (8,9). The size (8) of one induction coil (4) is larger than the size (9) of the other two induction coils (5,6) of that respective cooking area (2,3).

The induction cooking hob proposed here enables cost-efficient and energy-efficient use thanks to optimized magnetic coupling.

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the surface brightness fluctuations (SBF) technique in determining the distance to three distinct galaxy targets. The targets were dwarf galaxies Tucana B, Kamino, and Hedgehog. The technique used image masking, Sérsic profiles, and convolving with point spread functions (PSF). The study showed that redder, quenched galaxies are prime candidates for the SBF technique, while bluer, star-forming galaxies are more difficult to constrain the distance of.

Using a combined two-photon excitation fluorescence (TPEF) and second-harmonic generation (SHG) approach, our research seeks to further the quantification of skin components in a quest toward diagnostic tools with higher accuracy and reduced invasiveness for patients. Images are taken both ex vivo and in vivo, of healthy and malignant tissues, with a 600 × 600 micron field of view. We demonstrate how computational analysis can effectively exploit signals emitted by skin to provide diagnostic insight.

There is a lack of a standardized definition of “medical” cannabis use in the healthcare industry, which has led to an informal, user-reported definition of medical use. Consequently, individuals who use cannabis for both medical and recreational reasons (dual intent) are not always differentiated from pure medical or pure recreational users. This study compares self-defined medical only and dual intent motivational groups relative to recreational only users to better understand how these groups differ by analyzing sociodemographic and use patterns, clinically relevant factors, and claimed cannabis-related benefits. Dissemination of scholarly work is a foundational expectation of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) education. This article provides an update on the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) DNP Repository, a digital, open-access platform developed to expand the visibility and global impact of DNP scholarly projects while addressing emerging complexities associated with rapid growth in published manuscripts. Since implementation, repository metrics demonstrate substantial growth, with over 21,000 downloads, 127 publications, and engagement across 163 countries and more than 1,100 organizations. This survey study seeks to explain the relationships between elementary music teachers' experiences with same-subject induction support and those teachers' feelings of teacher efficacy, experiences of isolation, and job satisfaction. Independent variables came from latent class groupings of same-subject induction support for beginning elementary music teachers. Teacher background variables were also included as controls. Three- and four-step regression models helped provide understanding about how the relative set of predictors--teacher background variables, isolation levels, induction experiences, and interaction terms--predicted the three outcomes. Mechanisms are formal procedures used in game theory and economics to aggregate individual preferences into collective outcomes in strategic settings with private information. A truthful or strategy-proof mechanism ensures that agents are best off reporting their true preferences, thereby eliminating incentives for manipulation. From improving qubit readout to real world medical technology, fast and ultrasensitive electrometry has many real world applications. The primary goal of the overarching project is to improve ultrasensitive charge detection using methods involving cavity-embedded Cooper pair transistor (cCPT) devices. This project hopes to accomplish this by using the gate-tunability of the cCPT to reduce the 1/f-noise, a type of low-frequency noise that can interfere with the cCPT’s measurement operability. Mechanically ventilated patients who are boarding in rural emergency departments face an increased risk of inconsistent sedation management due to the lack of standardized protocols and the extended transfer times to higher levels of care. The variability in sedation practices can lead to both under- and over-sedation, which negatively affects patient comfort, safety, and clinical outcomes. As housing instability and homelessness increase in King County, many basic needs, including foot care, are often unmet. According to a study on foot health among vulnerable populations, individuals may be unable to perform proper foot care due to prioritization of basic daily needs over preventative care (Razmus, 2023). Research indicates that foot-related complications are highly prevalent among vulnerable populations and may worsen without timely intervention (Haughton et al., 2026). This paper summarizes a project completed by nursing students at a women’s day center and transitional housing program in Washington state that supports women experiencing homelessness as they work toward stability. The center provides daytime services to more than 200 women daily who experience chronic stress, trauma, limited access to healthcare, and environmental barriers. The team of seven Seattle Pacific University nursing students partnered with an agency that functions as a family resource center. The agency provides emergency shelter, mobile outreach, and basic needs to families in King County. The team created an evidence-based solution focused on education for suicide prevention. Additionally, the team identified a gap in available staff clinical resources during emergencies.
