The Fourteenth Amendment, designed to ensure equality before the law, has been misinterpreted by the Supreme Court through its incorporation doctrine, leading to rulings that harm marginalized communities. The article advocates for "Equitable Incorporation," a doctrine requiring courts to consider the impact of their decisions on historically discriminated groups, ensuring the Amendment's purpose of equity and justice is upheld. This approach would necessitate the incorporation of unincorporated rights and reinterpret existing ones to reflect the Amendment's equitable intent.

The note argues that solar panel mandates on new construction projects are a necessary and sensible approach to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving climate goals, but their implementation must include provisions to protect vulnerable communities and address environmental justice concerns. While such mandates face legal and political challenges, the benefits of decreased emissions and energy independence outweigh the costs, particularly when paired with measures like community solar systems, incentives, and exemptions.

The research drew on a rich body of literature on race, education, and social dynamics in diverse school settings. The study addressed the ongoing challenges Black families faced in navigating these environments, particularly in terms of communication and cultural competence. The central research questions investigated how Black parents experienced and interpreted teacher and leadership relationships and support in predominately White private schools.

Parental engagement has been widely linked to student academic success and positive behavior outcomes; however, involvement tends to decline as students enter middle school. The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences and perceptions of educators and parents regarding parental involvement, identify the challenges families face, and discover opportunities to strengthen school-family collaboration.

This applied dissertation was designed to review the efficacy of parents of children with autism as interventionists to prevent their children’s potential abduction. Oftentimes, abduction prevention strategies are not implemented due to time, staff, and resource constraints. While there have been effective interventions conducted, many did not address the unique needs of individuals with autism or the lack of qualified interventionists. The researcher implemented a behavioral skills training model based on the previously effective abduction prevention research and integrated the in-situ component with parents as primary interventionists.

This applied dissertation investigated whether there was a significant difference in behavioral and attendance outcomes among African American and Hispanic middle school students with disabilities, depending on parental attendance at Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. The study was grounded in Hoover-Dempsey and Sandler’s parent involvement theory. This quantitative study used archival data from a southeastern U.S. middle school to examine whether variations in parental participation corresponded with students' disciplinary incidents and school absences.

This phenomenological study was conducted to improve instructional support for diverse learners in a Southeast Florida Catholic high school by exploring teachers’ use of the Apple iPad accessibility feature, text-to-speech (TTS). Although this Catholic high school implemented a 1:1 iPad program, many teachers had limited experience using the built-in TTS feature to meet the diverse needs of students, including English Language Learners and those with reading difficulties. The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions of mental health school-based team members regarding the effectiveness of current prevention and intervention practices for addressing suicidal and non-suicidal self-harming behaviors among school-age children in a large suburban school district in the southern United States. Despite the alarming increase in self-injurious behaviors, with crisis calls rising from 144 incidents in the 2022 school year to 736 incidents in the 2025 school year, the district lacked comprehensive prevention and intervention strategies to effectively address this critical issue.

Quantitative data were collected through an online Likert-scale survey to measure teachers’ reported agreement on how state legislation has impacted their instructional decision-making, job satisfaction connected to their professional and personal identities, inclusion of instructional materials, and receptiveness to professional development.

Interaction with law enforcement and delinquency are higher among youth in foster care, and they are likely to experience higher incarceration rates and be involved in criminality, which limits their access to education and employment. The problem addressed in this study was the elevated risk of law enforcement contact outcome (LEO) among adolescents and young adults with a history of foster care placement. This paper introduces BioGPT, a generative transformer-based framework designed to advance personalized genomic medicine and rare disease diagnosis. Unlike conventional models that process either genomic sequences or clinical narratives in isolation, BioGPT employs a cross-modal architecture that effectively fuses both data streams, enabling precise classification and interpretable natural language generation. The model is pre-trained on large-scale genomic and electronic health record datasets and fine-tuned for rare disease tasks. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate BioGPT’s superiority over state-of-the-art biomedical models, including RarePT, BioBERT, and DNABERT, with improvements of up to 10% in F1-score and over 20 BLEU points in justification fluency. Early and adequate identification of patients at risk of cardiac arrest remains a fundamental challenge in medical environments. Within this piece of work, we design and evaluate a hybrid machine-learning pipeline integrating Random Forest (RF) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers by soft voting to detect cardiac arrest occurrences from a publicly available dataset of 303 patient records with 13 clinical features. After median imputation and data cleaning, continuous features were normalized and the cohort was divided into 70 % training and 30 % test sets.
