Burbot (Mizay; Lota lota) are a relatively unmanaged freshwater fish, important in many local Indigenous cultures, but often overlooked or maltreated in research, conservation, and fishing practices. As such, relatively little research has been conducted on Burbot, despite ecological significance as an indicator species. A recent resurgence in popularity as a target species, however, has prompted new research to inform management policies. Purpose: Scientific dissemination is key to transmitting specialized knowledge to society, using social networks and digital platforms as essential tools. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to identify trends, key themes, and collaboration networks in scientific outreach research.

Methods: A bibliometric analysis of 1577 papers indexed in the Scopus database between 2000 and 2023 was conducted using advanced tools such as Biblioshiny and VOSviewer. The analysis focused on co-authorship patterns, citation networks, and emerging thematic trends.

Purpose: While humanistic practice is an essential component of medical school curricula, there are few applied experiences that instill humanistic behaviors. Since 2008, we have offered an innovative clinical rotation, where instead of clinical duties, students “shadow” pediatric oncology patients and their families, employing narrative medicine to provide insights into the experience of illness, navigating health systems issues, and the complexity of interdisciplinary care.

Methods: Using qualitative methods, a trained research team analyzed the 120 student narratives submitted from 2008 through 2019. Statements that exhibited humanism were extracted and reduced to five common themes.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to implement a model for a collaborative experiential learning experience (CELE) in pediatrics and interprofessional collaboration (IPC) with physical therapy and music therapy students (SPTs and SMTs) and to explore the perspectives of the participants.

Method: Over 2 years, 4 families, 15 SPTs, 6 SMTs, 6 PT and 3 MT clinical instructors (CIs) participated in the CELE. Children with various diagnoses received PT/MT for 8 weekly sessions with PT and MT students supervised by CIs. After both years, participants participated in semi-structured interviews. Purpose: Although medical students have been affected by experiencing bullying, the stressful medical training and competitive pressures makes bullying the least prioritized problem. The aim of current work is evaluating the prevalence of bullying among students at Alexandria Faculty of Medicine, Egypt, following concerted efforts by the university and governmental initiatives to address this issue, with emphasizing on forms of bullying, perpetrators, risk factors, consequences, and the response of bullied students after exposure.

Methods: A cross-sectional study included 565 students with voluntary and anonymous participation. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop and validate an instrument to measure pharmacy students' knowledge and perceptions of polypharmacy and caregivers for the elderly.

Methods: This study was conducted on pharmacy students in Indonesia. The questionnaire items were developed based on a literature review, followed by a series of validation processes that included content validity using the Delphi method and face validity. Item Response Theory (IRT) analysis was used to validate the knowledge domain. The perception domain was validated using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA).

Relationship Between Teaching Methods And Self-Regulated Learning Among Moroccan Nursing Students: A Cross-Sectional Study, Asma Bouriami, Mounia Amane, Samia Boussaa, Ahmed Rhassane El Adib

Purpose: To explore self-regulated learning among nursing students and the relationship between the teaching methods used and self-regulated learning.

Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional survey is conducted with 208 nursing students using the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ).

Results: In relation to self-regulated learning, the results demonstrate that students had moderate scores in both motivation (4.43) and learning strategies (4.58). Men students showed a significant difference (p < 0.05) compared to women students regarding test anxiety included on motivation section. Generally, a preference for active teaching methods was observed. Additionally, results demonstrate that there was a moderate positive correlation between score of motivation and project-based learning (r =0,481; p ppp<0.001).

Conclusion: The findings will provide valuable insights for educators seeking to enhance their methods to foster self-regulated learning in their students. In this regard, prioritizing active teaching methods …

Health professional education researchers have documented increased training on shared decision-making (SDM) skills in undergraduate as well as continuing professional development (CPD). In this review, we seek to understand the current methods and approaches to teaching SDM for healthcare providers and trainees.

Methods

This scoping review involved the systematic search of 4 databases: MEDLINE, ERIC, PsycINFO, and Scopus for qualitative and quantitative studies literature covering the topic of teaching SDM in medical education.

Purpose: Sleep is widely known to influence aspects of neurocognitive health and performance. In various students, sleep is related to academic performance and cognitive tasks. However, the association of sleep to academic performance among Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students is poorly understood. The purpose of this study was to objectively measure sleep characteristics and academic performance in a cohort of DPT students.

Mutations in the BMPR2 gene are primarily recognized for their role in the development of blood vessels, however, they have also been associated with the pathogenesis of high blood pressure, specifically in regards to altered vascular function and the endothelial cell signal. Early detection and targeted treatment, as well as lifestyle changes, are pivotal in reducing the risk of serious complications associated with high blood pressure. Recent genetic research and personalized medicine have demonstrated the potential to enhance the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of high blood pressure, particularly through the identification of genetic mutations in the BMPR2 gene.

These opportunistic microbes typically are implicated mild to more severe infections including burn or wound infections to more serious systemic infections. The bacterium Ps. aeruginosa utilizes a variety of virulence factors to enhance the pathogenicity of the organism. Virulence factors secreted by Ps. aeruginosa include its pili, adhesins, capsule, exotoxin A, and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). These disorders affect approximately 20,000 individuals annually in the United States, with around 295,000 people currently living with the condition. Cataract is an eye disease that clouds the eye's natural lens, which is used to focus light on the retina. This eye disease causes symptoms such as blurry vision, double vision, sensitivity to light, and difficulty seeing at night. Cataracts are tied to the gene called Ferritin Light Chain (FLT), which is found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes and plays a role in encoding the light subunits of the ferritin protein. Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease with an annual diagnosis rate of 70 cases per 100,000 people. This is a disease that is usually identified by the abnormal entry of immune cells, such as B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes, and innate lymphoid cells, into the synovial tissues of the joints. When these immune cells infiltrate the joints, they can become too active, thereby contributing to the chronic inflammatory response characteristic of the disease. This chapter is about some of the sites and scenes where members of the public are exposed to (and engage in) vaccination discourse. To preview, after a brief introduction, we begin with messaging models of communication, followed by the move from messaging to engagement. Next, case examples of public engagement with vaccines are introduced, from pandemic influenza preparedness in the U.S., to polio eradication initiatives in India, and then to COVID-19 public engagement events in England.
