The impact of online social influence on social learning, health behaviour and population health is a new, rapidly developing area of study. Previous research focused specifically on digital influencers suggests they may be able to affect group-level diffusion of health-protective behaviours such that they modify epidemic outcomes. However, formal models have yet to test the intuitive hypothesis that the effect of digital influencers is sufficient to generate tangible real-world effects on epidemics. This paper introduces a novel method for generating live heatmaps of eddy dissipation rate (EDR) data through a spatiotemporal weighting designed to enhance turbulence visualization in aviation. As more flight data become available, approaches relying solely on in-flight EDR measurements have the potential to accurately nowcast and visualize turbulence with low computational cost. The proposed method significantly improves the turbulence visualization capabilities of common commercial aircraft. This is particularly valuable for pilot decision-making and trip planning, enhancing flight safety and operational efficiency. This study examines elderly consumers’ perceptions of the design of AI insurance chatbot services in a phygital context. Drawing on the extended reality technology (ERT) framework and the stimulus–organism–response (SOR) model, it explores the cognitive–affective dynamics shaping chatbot adoption in a sensitive service setting. Data were collected from 396 elderly consumers of major insurance companies in Malaysia and analysed using structural equation modelling to assess mediating and moderating effects. Findings show that perceived trust critically mediates the relationship between cognitive factors and chatbot adoption. Technology anxiety and perceived complexity strongly moderate the trust–usage relationship, confirming a triadic interaction. The study …

This study investigated the impact of diabetes type on COVID-19 symptom severity, hospitalization duration, and recovery time among patients in Nasiriyah City, southern Iraq — a region substantially underrepresented in the global DM–COVID-19 literature. This study investigates the influence of curtain wall façade systems—defined as non-structural glazed enclosures—on workplace comfort and energy performance in administrative buildings in Cairo, Egypt. The research addresses the limited understanding of how façade orientation and the integration of sustainable materials affect building performance in hot-arid climates. The focus is on the role of Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride (UPVC) frames and thermochromic glazing in enhancing thermal, visual, and acoustic comfort. This article offers a semantic analysis of aerial and terrestrial spaces in the aviation narratives of Joseph Kessel and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It shows that these two spaces function as opposing poles that shape the heroes’ actions, values, and inner quests. Aerial space is associated with emptiness, altitude, evasion, freedom, elevation, and purification, whereas terrestrial space is linked to fullness, depth, suffocation, malaise, heaviness, and materiality. The study also notes that some terrestrial spaces, especially the desert and wild regions, may acquire positive values when they reconnect the hero with purity, simplicity, and a form of spiritual freedom. This paper examines conversational topic shifting in Moroccan Arabic, focusing on the markers and devices speakers use to move from one topic to another within the same interaction. After reviewing relevant literature and methodology, it distinguishes several forms of topic shift, including genuine topic shifts, sub-topic shifts, and topic recycling. The analysis identifies markers such as pauses, genuine topic-shift utterances, attention-getting devices, and topic-recycling markers, and discusses their discourse functions. The study shows that topic-shift markers do not perform a single function only, but help structure conversation, introduce new referents, manage interaction, and delimit useful units for discourse analysis.
