Beyond Predation: Invasive Green Crab (Carcinus Maenas) Alters Juvenile Pacific Oyster (Magallana Gigas) Function And Survival Across Environmental Gradients, Isabel Helena Mize Jun 2026

Beyond Predation: Invasive Green Crab (Carcinus Maenas) Alters Juvenile Pacific Oyster (Magallana Gigas) Function And Survival Across Environmental Gradients, Isabel Helena Mize

Dissertations and Theses

The establishment of the invasive green crab, Carcinus maenas, creates ecological and economic impacts in estuaries, particularly through predation on bivalves and alteration of species interactions. This thesis evaluates the direct predation, non-consumptive predator presence, and spatial management implications of C. maenas impacts on filtration rate of juvenile Pacific oysters, Magallana gigas, across laboratory, field, and GIS-based vulnerability mapping approaches. In laboratory conditions, clearance rates of M. gigas were measured over 72 hours across two temperatures (14°C and 18°C) and predator treatments including C. maenas, Pacific rock crab (Romaleon antennarium), both predators together, and a …

Low Cost Lightning Localization At Microwave Frequencies, Bradley Glaubitz Jun 2026

Low Cost Lightning Localization At Microwave Frequencies, Bradley Glaubitz

Dissertations and Theses

High precision lightning localization is essential for atmospheric research and public safety, yet the high cost of traditional VLF/LF systems restricts high resolution detection primarily to well funded agencies. Furthermore, conventional low frequency receivers often overlook microwave frequency emissions associated with lightning leader development. This thesis proposes a compact, low cost microwave frequency localization system operating in the 1.42 GHz band to provide an accessible alternative for high resolution mapping. The methodology utilizes an ARM Cortex M0+ microcontroller and a triggered 64 MHz 32 bit counter synchronized to a GPS Pulse Per Second (PPS) signal, achieving a temporal resolution of …

Acute Practitioners’ Experiences Of Implementing Frailty Same Day Emergency Care: A Researcher-In-Residence Study, John Downey, Kieran Green, Sheena Asthana, Joanne Watson

School of Nursing and Midwifery

Introduction: NHS policy promotes Frailty Same Day Emergency Care (F-SDEC) units to alleviate pressure on emergency departments (ED) and improve care for frail people through comprehensive geriatric assessment and same-day discharge. However, evidence remains limited on how such services are implemented in practice, particularly in resource-constrained and geographically peripheral settings. This study aimed to examine how implementation barriers are experienced and negotiated during the day-to-day delivery of an F-SDEC pilot. Methods: Using a Researcher-in-Residence approach, a researcher embedded in a coastal hospital in Torbay, South-West England, collected field notes from prior observations to inform the interview guide, conducted semi-structured interviews with …

Dca 1, Lp V. Ferguson

All Decisions

In this holdover, the court declines to find that the VAWA statute covers occupants without tenancy rights. The decision is consistent with the court's prior ruling in CHV 690-738 Albany Avenue LP v Kandil (LT-330166-24/KI, Mar. 11, 2026), and contrasts with Stammtisch Associates LP v Wright (No. 321993-25/KI, June 11, 2026), where the same judge reached a different conclusion.

A Taxonomy Of Children And Young People's Social Prescribing Models: A Multi-Site Implementation Case Study In England, Vashti Berry, Siobhan Mitchell, Joe Coombes, Marcello Bertotti, Daniel Hayes, Lucy Cartwright, Kerryn Husk

Peninsula Medical School

Introduction.Social prescribing for children and young people (CYP) is expanding across England, yet there is limited understanding of how local services interpret and configure its core components—individual need, referrer, linking function and community activity—particularly for CYP presenting with mental health difficulties.Methods.Using a multi-site case study design, we examined five CYP-focused social prescribing pathways selected for their diversity of institutional anchors and implementation maturity. Data collection included pathway visualization with site leads and 34 semi-structured interviews with referrers, link workers, managers and practitioners. Thematic analysis was used to compare pathway structures and functions across cases to support development of an empirically …

Beyond Public And Private: Arbitrability Of Data Privacy Disputes, Thejas Velaga, Srishti Pandey Jun 2026

Beyond Public And Private: Arbitrability Of Data Privacy Disputes, Thejas Velaga, Srishti Pandey

Indian Journal of Law and Technology

The commodification of personal data and the proliferation of Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) have rendered the arbitrability of data privacy disputes an urgent and underexplored question in Indian commercial law. This paper examines the arbitrability of disputes arising under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, with particular focus on subject-matter arbitrability as crystallised in Vidya Drolia v. Durga Trading Corporation. It argues that while such disputes are contractual in nature, their arbitrability remains contested insofar as they implicate the rights of third-party data principals, introducing a public dimension that complicates referral to arbitration. The paper further advances two reforms: …

Legal Architecture Of India’S Space Sector: An Evaluation And Proposed Reforms, Upasana Dasgupta Jun 2026

Legal Architecture Of India’S Space Sector: An Evaluation And Proposed Reforms, Upasana Dasgupta

Indian Journal of Law and Technology

There is a pressing need for a national space legislation in India, in light of rapid expansion of Indian space industry and increased private participation since the introduction of space reforms in 2020. The inherent dual-use nature of space technology and the growing strategic importance of space infrastructure in geopolitics also demand regulating Indian space activities. At present, India does not have a comprehensive national legislation to govern its space activities which are currently governed by a patchwork of policies and vision statements. Notably, Indian Government released the Indian Space Policy in 2023, and Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation …
