In commercial aviation, the protocol of broadcasting an announcement asking, "Is there a doctor on board?" is a long-standing and effective method for managing in-flight medical emergencies. By leveraging the presence of off-duty medical professionals who happen to be co-located with the emergency, flights can secure immediate, life-saving interventions for conditions such as cardiac events, diabetic shock, or severe allergic reactions. On the road, a parallel opportunity exists. The system integrates four previously independent technologies—CRFG‑1R cooling, Phoenix-Water condensation, thermoacoustic pumping, and Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) microgeneration—into a single, continuous, 3D‑printed Arachne Gyroid Substrate.

A policy-governed Large Language Model (LLM) gateway is provided that cuts token spending on large, mixed-context requests by virtualizing high-cost prompt segments into secure pointers and rehydrating them only when needed via controlled tool retrieval. The system is designed to preserve output quality and operational safety through route-aware fail-open controls rather than lossy compression or blind truncation. The result is auditable, per-request cost reduction that supports enterprise-scale artificial intelligence (AI) adoption without requiring application workflow changes.

Drug theophylline is a bronchodilator used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), but precise monitoring is required to avoid side effects. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a screen-printed electrode (SPE) modified with a composite of green-synthesized silver nanoparticles and boron-doped diamond nanoparticles using tea polyphenols (Ag-BDDTP/SPE) for detecting theophylline. Formation of AgNPs was confirmed by UV-Vis spectroscopy, which showed a localized surface plasmon resonance peak at ~450 nm. Transmission electron microscopy revealed polydisperse nanoparticles with an average diameter of 39.94 nm. Early and accurate diagnosis for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) has gained relevance in an era of emerging therapies to improve patient outcomes. While screening of dried blood spots (DBS) effectively detects deletion-type SMA, non-deletion cases are often missed. Mutation screening from DBS is needed to address this gap. Here, we aimed to evaluate the feasibility of an in-house, cellulose-based card for direct Sanger sequencing for variant hunting, avoiding DNA extraction and offering an alternative to commercial cards. As an extension of our previous theoretical study, we perform temperature-dependent optical conductivity calculations on La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 over a wide photon-energy range up to ∼22 eV, aiming to capture the metal–insulator transition while preserving the general temperature-dependent profile at higher photon energies. Humidity sensors are pivotal in numerous sectors, such as environmental monitoring, industrial automation, and health-care. This study presents the fabrication and detailed evaluation of an advanced humidity sensor using ethyl cellulose (EC)-coated LaFe0.925Ti0.075O3 (LFTO) perovskite nanoparticles synthesized via the sol-gel method. The LFTO nanopar-ticles exhibited a mesoporous structure with an enhanced surface area, which significantly improved their moisture adsorption capabilities. The improper management of sewage sludge poses a significant global risk to environmental and public health. In this study, the valorization of sludge as an organic fertilizer for lettuce cultivation was evaluated, offering a sustainable waste-to-resource solution. Sludge from two wastewater treatment plants (Mazouna and El Kerma) were collected between 2019 and 2021. Comprehensive physicochemical analysis was conducted to determine its nutrient value and contaminant levels. Microplastic pollution is recognized as a threat to marine ecosystems, yet its impacts on early life stages of mesopelagic fishes remain poorly understood. This study investigated the occurrence and characteristics of microplastic ingestion in fish larvae of the families Myctophidae and Gonostomatidae from the Banggai Sea, Indonesia. Morphometric measurements and microplastic content were analyzed in 40 larvae (20 per family). Gonostomatidae larvae, despite being smaller in total length, exhibited significantly larger mouth widths and ingested more microplastic particles (mean = 3.90 ± 0.72 particles) than Myctophidae (mean = 3.40 ± 0.38 particles). Moisture-resistant kraft paper is important for food packaging because it helps preserve product quality and extend shelf life. However, untreated kraft paper exhibits limited barrier performance owing to the porous and hydrophilic nature of its cellulose structure. Herein, the mechanical and barrier properties of kraft paper were enhanced by applying poly (lactic acid) (PLA) coatings using a dip-coating technique with PLA concentrations ranging from 1 to 5 g/100 mL and either single- or double-dip-coating cycles. To address climate change, a crucial environmental challenge, strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are essential. This study examines the relationship between tree species diversity, aboveground biomass (AGB), and carbon storage across tropical forests. Entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) are important components of soil ecosystems and may support sustainable pest management in agricultural systems. This study characterized culture-recoverable EPF in maize (Zea mays L.) rhizospheric soils collected from 45 points across three elevation zones in West Java, Indonesia, using a spatially nested sampling design. Nattokinase (NK), an enzyme with thrombolytic activity, has been widely used in treating cardiovascular disease. The expression of NK in the E. coli cell host is favored due to its several benefits, though it often results in inclusion bodies. To address the issues of large search space, low efficiency, and slow convergence of the RRT* algorithm in 3D path planning of robotic manipulators, an adaptive path planning algorithm integrating RRT* and APF is proposed. In the sampling phase, a Sobol sequence-based obstacle avoidance strategy and an APF adaptive-threshold, goal-biased sampling method are used to improve the quality of sampling points. Insufficient friction force compensation accuracy degrades motion smoothness, stability, and assistive compliance of elbow joint rehabilitation robots. To address this issue, an improved Stribeck friction force model integrating temperature and speed factors was proposed. The model employed an exponentially decaying friction factor to describe the characteristic that the increase rate of friction force slowed down with the rise of the robot's operating speed and designed a viscous function considering temperature effects to suppress friction force fluctuations caused by temperature changes. To address the severe degradation of object detection performance under extreme weather conditions, a detection framework based on the Kolmogorov-Arnold theorem, termed KADet, is proposed. A dynamic Kolmogorov-Arnold Transformer is designed, which leverages learnable nonlinear activation functions to enhance the modeling capability for complex distortions introduced by weather degradation. A Kolmogorov-Arnold spatial-channel network is developed by integrating KAT convolution with spatial-channel convolution to strengthen feature learning of relationships between targets and backgrounds in degraded scenes. Introduction: In the general population, nasal polyps (NPs) linked to chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) are common. Patients with CRS are 60–65% more likely to develop NP. Treatment for NPs resulting from chronic rhino-sinusitis continuous to be challenging. Case summary: A 31-year-old female came with a swelling in her left nostril, clinically diagnosed as a case of NP. Homoeopathic medicine Lemna minor 1M was prescribed based on the acute complaints and pathological symptoms. The swelling was completely resolved within 45 days. This case report demonstrates the usefulness of homoeopathic medicine in the management of NP.
