Relationships are central to the work of school leaders; however, little is currently known about how leadership preparation programs provide learning experiences for students which develop their relational abilities and orient them to adopt a relational stance in their work. Patient mortality increases over 14% and the prognosis for a full-recovery decreases an additional 21% when definitive medical care is provided after the first hour of suffering traumatic injuries. Most trauma patients receive such care within 60 minutes of injury onset, referred to as the ‘golden hour’; however, trauma patients injured in wilderness areas may not receive this care for an hour or more due to difficulty accessing them across rugged, dense terrain. Background: Dermatologic education in Nurse Practitioner (NP) programs often lacks adequate representation of skin conditions in patients with darker skin tones, contributing to diagnostic disparities and delayed treatment. This quality improvement (QI) project aimed to integrate culturally competent dermatologic content into the Primary Care I course at Sacred Heart University to enhance diagnostic accuracy and student confidence.

Purpose: The primary goals were to improve NP students’ knowledge and confidence in diagnosing dermatologic conditions across diverse skin tones and to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational intervention using pre- and post-intervention assessments.

As carbon markets develop, understanding the carbon storage capabilities of agricultural land is imperative to maximizing carbon storage. Ecosystems store two-thirds of their carbon below ground. Shrubland and shelterbelt carbon storage have been well documented in agricultural settings, yet little is known about the carbon stored under the native woody vegetation scattered across the Prairies. This study aims to be the first to quantify the below-ground carbon under and around these native trembling aspen (Populus tremuloides) copses in the Canadian Prairies. The white dwarf GD 803 is known to be a non-eclipsing close-binary system. It has an orbital period of less than a day, a hot white dwarf as the central star, and a cool main sequence star as the companion. Using luminosity data, in our case, luminosities in the SDSS-g and SDSS-r filters, light curves showing how the luminosity changes over time were created. Model light curves can be generated through adjustable parameters using the PHOEBE binary star modeling software. These model curves can then be compared to the data. This thesis uses a journalistic approach to explore the intersection between leadership, transformational leadership, in particular, and forms of success through the lens of Kentucky's only NCAA Division 1 Men's Lacrosse program. BACKGROUND:

The unprecedented DANA floods that struck Valencia, Spain on October 29, 2024, caused catastrophic human, economic, and ecological damages, resulting in 223 fatalities, the displacement of 15,000 residents, and long-term health and environmental consequences and incurred financial losses estimated over 50 billion euros. Vulnerabilities in urban planning, ambiguous command and control oversight, delayed warnings, and insufficient preparedness underscored systemic gaps in the flood preparedness and management.

ANALYSIS AND POLICY OPTIONS:

Urgent actions, including stricter urban zoning laws, implementing comprehensive early warning systems, and fostering community-based disaster preparedness are needed to mitigate future risks. A One Health approach that addresses …

Attachment theory provides a key framework for understanding adult romantic relationships, especially for individuals with a history of childhood trauma. Early adverse experiences, such as emotional abuse and neglect, as well as broader categories of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), can disrupt attachment development, contributing to insecure attachment styles—anxious or avoidant—that influence relationship dynamics in adulthood. This review synthesizes current literature on how childhood trauma contributes to attachment patterns and emotional intimacy, trust, and relationship satisfaction in adult romantic relationships. Background: Patients undergoing a procedure with anesthesia are required to be nil per os (NPO) for a defined period to reduce the risk of aspiration of gastric contents. In 2017, the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) published guidelines for preoperative fasting, which allow for consumption of a full meal 8 hours before a procedure; non-human milk, light meal, and infant formulas 6 hours prior; breastmilk 4 hours prior; and clear liquids 2 hours prior to procedure. Ancient asthma care, by contrast, focused on loosening the humours using remedies such as drinking animal blood, eating rabbit fat and fox lungs, inhaling or consuming certain herbs and plants, bloodletting (including wet cupping), diet (eating raisins, dried figs, vegetables, barley, capers, bread, cake), steaming, baths, wet compresses, and moderate helpings of wine with dinner. We explored the effects of altering expression levels of the sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca²⁺-ATPase (SERCA) ion-transporting enzymes on key T lymphocyte signaling functions. In these studies, we have taken advantage of the Jurkat T cell line which provides a T lymphocyte model cell phenotype with a well-characterized T cell receptor (TCR)-activated signaling pathway, as well as offering a cellular system with a good understanding of the SERCA expression profile. In response to the increasing number of people seeking health information on social media, this study explores public perceptions of peripheral nerve surgery on the social media platform TikTok (1). Conclusions from this study may provide insight to medical personnel looking to use social media to improve patient education.

Introduction

Total ankle replacement (TAR) and ankle arthrodesis (AA) are surgical interventions used for patients with degenerative ankle arthritis. Historically, AA has been the standard treatment for ankle arthritis; however, in recent years, TAR has become just as popular, if not more so. The TARVA study, a randomized controlled trial examining the outcomes of each procedure for a population with end-stage osteoarthritis, reports similar results between the two procedures, except that TAR may have a higher incidence of wound dehiscence. The February 6, 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake doublet resulted in a range of devasting impacts on the built and natural environments. Here the macroseimic intensity of the event is assessed using the Environmental Seismic Intensity Scale (ESI 2007), which considers a range of primary and secondary earthquake environmental effects (EEEs) resulting from the causative earthquakes. These features were documented as part of the hybrid Earthquake Engineering Field Investigation Team (EEFIT) mission and by numerous other studies in the aftermath of the earthquakes. Introduction Anxiety is a common non-motor symptom of Parkinson's that is associated with reduced life quality, independence and health outcomes. Current anxiolytic medications and the most promising behavioural interventions have inconclusive and mixed results. Occupational therapy is effective at promoting participation in activities of daily living and is recommended in national guidelines. This cluster randomised controlled trial aims to test the feasibility and fidelity of a new occupation-based complex intervention for living well with anxiety in Parkinson's disease (OBtAIN-PD).
