Background: Ludwig's angina is a rapidly progressive odontogenic and deep neck infection that may lead to airway compromise, severe complications, and death. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to synthesize clinical evidence on mortality, etiology, comorbidities, complications, and management patterns in patients with true Ludwig's angina.
Methods: Published human studies reporting true Ludwig's angina were included. Multi-patient studies with extractable event and denominator data were eligible for quantitative synthesis. The outcomes were mortality, odontogenic source, diabetes mellitus, tracheostomy, surgical drainage, necrotizing fasciitis, and mediastinitis or deep neck mediastinitis. Random-effects meta-analyses of proportions were performed.

Section 3 of the Clayton Act was meant to supplement the Sherman Act with a more stringent prohibition of restrictive sales practices. The Supreme Court repeatedly held that section 3’s text is unambiguous and rejects the Sherman Act’s rule of reason. Yet since the 1980s, lower courts have effectively nullified section 3 by applying rule of reason analysis, treating section 3 as superfluous to the Sherman Act. This shift, unsupported by empirical evidence, relied on Chicago and Harvard school scholarship that redefined the meaning of “competition” and argued for the unification of both statutes. Widely used psychological assessment instruments, including the Patient Health Questionnaire–9, Beck Depression Inventory, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder–7, were developed primarily within Euro-North American contexts. Although frequently used for their efficiency and psychometric strengths, their application across culturally diverse populations raises concerns regarding cross-cultural validity, fairness, clinical interpretation, and ethical use. Expressions of psychological distress, resilience, and adaptive functioning vary across cultural contexts and may involve somatic complaints, relational meanings, spiritual frameworks, culturally specific idioms of distress, and community-oriented coping that standardized measures may inadequately capture. Background: Educational placement does not necessarily secure psychological well-being, reciprocal relationships, participation, or responsive support for students with special educational needs.

Objectives: This abstract-based narrative synthesis examined review materials describing a curated Scopus corpus of 110 records published between 2023 and 2026.

Methods: Forty records were presented in four thematic evidence matrices, while 70 supplied contextual material. Extraction was restricted to metadata, abstracts, and the available summary matrices; primary-study full texts were not systematically assessed, and no formal risk-of-bias assessment was performed. This review critically assesses Órla Meadhbh Murray’s institutional ethnography (IE) of audit culture at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. I center my review on Murray’s argument that interpretive power exists at the local level, and with this, opportunities, although limited, to influence how audit processes are performed at the institutional and departmental levels exist. I propose that Murray’s work provides a practical guide and example of what it means to conduct an IE that is grounded in IE’s social ontology.

This review evaluates insomnia as an independent, modifiable risk factor for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) within primary care, while assessing the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) in improving outcomes, preventing onset, and reducing relapse risk of depression. A literature search conducted between January and April 2026 across PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and APA PsycINFO yielded 42 articles published between 2015 and 2026. Applying inclusion criteria focused on adult populations, comorbid insomnia and depression, and clinical outcomes of CBT-I, 26 articles were selected for synthesis.
