This article offers a reinterpretation of the concurrent election practice in a multiparty presidential system. Traditionally, concurrent elections were designed as a constitutional mechanism to prevent political deadlock by aligning executive power with legislative support. However, the dynamics of contemporary presidentialism have raised a new problem: the threat to democracy now often comes from a president who is too powerful because he or she has succeeded in drawing nearly all political forces into an oversized coalition. Static and dynamic balance are vital for performance and injury prevention in roller skate athletes. While proprioceptive and strengthening exercises are extensively used, evidence of their combined impact in young athletes is rare. This study evaluated the effects of an eight-week proprioceptive and strengthening program on postural and lower-limb balance parameters in roller skaters aged 11–15 years. The study randomly assigned 30 athletes to an intervention group (n=15) or a control group (n=15). This research aimed to analogize the resistance patterns against carbapenem antibiotics in Enterobacterales uropathogens between two healthcare facilities. The authors performed this study at the Basic Medical Sciences Institute, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, and the National Medical Center. A total of 374 UTI patients were enrolled, equally distributed in the two centers (187 each hospital). Molecular assays supplemented phenotypic susceptibility testing to detect carbapenem resistance. Statistical analysis, including multivariate logistic regression, was performed to identify associations between hospital type and carbapenem resistance. Laser acupuncture has been proposed as a non-invasive option to reduce pain and improve knee-related outcomes. This randomized controlled trial compared laser acupuncture and NSAID therapy in 32 patients with knee OA (Kellgren–Lawrence grade II–III) who were randomized equally to laser acupuncture (n = 16) or NSAIDs (n = 16). This study investigated the prevalence of helminths parasites and the influence of associated factors including district, valley, species, gender, age, flock size, flock type, feeding system, and deworming among small ruminants in Chitral, Hindu Kush Mountains, Pakistan. Fecal samples from 401 goats and 410 sheep were analyzed. Chi-square tests were applied to determine the associated factors. The overall prevalence of helminths parasites was 59.4 %, with 58.9 % in goats and 60 % in sheep. The most prevalent coprologically detected parasite species was Toxocara spp. (27.1 %), followed by Moniezia spp. (17 %). In mixed infections, mostly Toxocara spp. with …

What socioecological conditions nurture the ingenuity and collaborative interactions underlying transformative technological innovations? We compiled a dataset on more than 400 major technological inventions from 1690 to 1990 spanning seven categories (agriculture, armaments, information and communication, household, industry, medical, and transportation) and performed inductive macroecological analyses to address how attributes of inventors, teams, and their social and geographic environments contributed to the innovation of new technologies that have changed the way people live. We analyze a multidimensional screening model in which a principal offers a menu of quality-price pairs to a consumer with multiple dimensions of private information and a quasilinear utility function. We derive necessary conditions for optimality, and use them to provide insight into optimal exclusion, positive trade, and screening. We then recast the problem in terms of incremental quality levels and prices, the so-called demand-profile approach (DPA). Under DPA, the problem decouples across increments and can be solved one at a time. Presidential aspirants in the United States engage in debates during campaigns as a medium of enlightening the electorate. Existing studies on the American presidential debates have largely focused on politeness, rhetoric, syntax, and gender, with little attention to the strategies employed to construct the self and opponent(s). Therefore, this research investigates the discourse representation in the presidential debates between Trump and Biden using van Dijk’s socio-cognitive model of critical discourse analysis.
