Facial Recognition Technology: The Case For Comprehensive Federal Oversight, Christopher Hart

Journal of the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary

This article will argue that regulations for government agency use of FRT should be stringent and limit the exploitation of personal biodata in the private sector. Instead of creating a new agency, Congress could expand an existing agency’s responsibility by granting it regulatory power over facial recognition technology. First, this article will seek to delineate the contours of facial recognition technology and its contemporary application within the United States. International Journal of Exercise Science 18(7): 531-542, 2025. The purpose of this study was to understand whether or not physiological and biomechanical measures were influenced by cycling sway and intensity. Participants (n=13; 24.9±6.5 years; 1.7±0.1 m; 64.7±11.2 kg) completed two submaximal-effort cycling conditions using a stationary smart bike placed on a rocker board: 1) cycling with the rocker board set to allow sway (unblocked); 2) cycling with blocks placed in the rocker board to prevent sway (blocked). Background:

Detroit’s Hispanic community is still disproportionally uninsured at about 2x the rate of non-Hispanic white and 3x the rate of non-Hispanic Black residents. In the post-COVID era, vaccine hesitancy and barriers to access have been well-documented. Studies suggest that minority populations, including the Hispanic population, may experience unique social determinants of health which affect their vaccination rates and outcomes. Additionally, research shows that knowledge of vaccines may correlate with levels of trust.

Methods:

We sought to describe the knowledge, barriers to access, and levels of trust regarding the influenza (flu) vaccine in Hispanic individuals of Metro Detroit. We used …

Workforce Development Programming For Older Adults: Participant Experiences, Catherine Taylor

Thinking Matters Symposium

As older adults live longer, remain active, and have concerns about financial security, many have chosen to stay in or reenter the workforce. This shift presents an opportunity to leverage the growing aging population to strengthen the workforce and address labor shortages. AmeriCorps Seniors launched the Senior Workforce Development Demonstration Project to explore this unique opportunity. AmeriCorps funded seven workforce development (WFD) programs that provide volunteering and training opportunities, equipping older adults 55+ with skills and experience necessary for permanent employment.
