The dead zone and limiting of a hydraulic turbine governor have a great influence on the characteristics of the ultra-low frequency oscillations (ULFOs), which can even lead to the oscillation of the positive damping system under large disturbance. However, the existing control methods for ULFOs mainly focus on optimizing proportional‑integral‑derivative (PID) control parameters of hydraulic turbine governors to improve system damping, without considering the dead zone and limiting parameters concurrently. In consideration of the problem of high-resistance grounding fault line selection and section location in asymmetric distribution networks, a fault line selection and section location method for asymmetric distribution networks based on the fast switch arc suppression device is proposed. The development of intelligent distribution networks has improved the self-healing ability and recovery speed of the power grid. However, when the system encounters large-scale power outages, the recovery process becomes more complex. Therefore, in response to the problem of power interruption in damaged distribution networks, this paper proposes a two-stage recovery strategy for damaged distribution networks that takes into account cold load pick-up (CLPU), aiming to generate a power restoration plan for distribution networks with switch control actions. In order to improve the accuracy of switchgear fault detection, this paper proposes a fault detection algorithm for switchgear based on RFID sensors and deep learning. Firstly, RFID sensing tags are designed to collect the current signals and temperature of the switchgear. Secondly, the collected signals are subjected to deep-level feature extraction through a deep belief network (DBN), and sparse coding (SC) is integrated into the DBN to improve its detection accuracy. The DC short-circuit fault current cannot be blocked by the modular multilevel converter (MMC) with traditional half-bridge sub-module (HBSM), which reduces the reliability of MMC based high voltage direct current (MMC-HVDC) systems. In this paper, based on two HBSM systems, a new bypass sub-module named diode clamp dual-half-bridge sub-module (DCDHBSM) with DC fault current blocking capability is proposed. Compared with other sub-modules possessing DC short-circuit current blocking capability, the proposed DCDHBSM requires fewer power devices and has lower operation loss. A Hormone-Dependent Trna Half Promotes Cell Cycle Progression Via Destabilization Of P21 Mrna, Takuya Kawamura, Megumi Shigematsu, Yohei Kirino

tRNA halves are among the most abundant short non-coding RNAs in the cellular transcriptome. Here we report that in androgen receptor-positive LNCaP prostate cancer cells, the hormone-dependent 5'-tRNALysCUU half promoted cell proliferation by facilitating cell cycle progression. Global mRNA profiling upon the 5'-tRNALysCUU half depletion revealed that the mRNA of p21, a negative regulator of the cell cycle, is post-transcriptionally destabilized via a 5'-tRNALysCUU half-driven mechanism. YBX1, identified as a protein interacting with 5'-tRNALysCUU half in the cytosol, was shown to stabilize p21 mRNA. The United States prison industry is the largest in the world. With the reintroduction of Second Chance Pell in 2015, more people are starting their education while incarcerated, and some attempt to finish after release. However, they are faced with numerous barriers that may prevent graduation. Drawing on Astin’s theory of student involvement, this mixed-methods study examines the challenges that formerly incarcerated people face while pursuing college degrees. Here, the effect of cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPC) functionalization by a monocarboxylic group in the form of thermally evaporated thin films followed by plasma treatment for variable time intervals is introduced. The effect of plasma treatment on crystalline structure, molecular structure, and morphology was examined using the XRD, FT-IR, and FE-EEM techniques. Significant modifications were observed in the crystal structure and morphology with increasing plasma treatment time intervals. The plasma treatment for 5 min enhanced the formation of the nanorods along the deposited surface with improved crystallinity. This paper proposes a novel framework for automating ML model interpretation and explainability across different applications with an emphasis on transparency, trust, and human-centric decisionmaking assistance. Although ML models, particularly advanced structures such as deep neural networks, possess superior predictive powers, their interpretability tends to be obscure, and thus their application in sensitive or regulated domains is impeded. Current XAI techniques, though promising, tend to be post-hoc and are not scalable for real-time or large-scale deployments. This study examined university counseling center therapists' perspectives on discussing nutrition in therapy. Despite the established link between nutrition and mental health, minimal research has explored how therapists approach these discussions. This study used interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) to analyze semi-structured interviews with 10 university counseling center therapists from the Mountain West region. Four overarching themes emerged: a deficit view of nutrition, perceived utility, ethical practice, and holistic care. Therapists unanimously recognized the connection between nutrition and mental health and primarily discussed nutrition with clients presenting with eating disorders or disordered eating, those who express interest, or as part of …

This thesis examines the phenomenon of code-mixing (CM) among speakers of Japanese as their first language (L1) and of English as their second language (L2) residing in Oregon, the United States. Unlike prior studies that focus on early bilinguals or individuals with mixed linguistic and cultural backgrounds, this study specifically target speakers who began learning English in formal settings through compulsory education or a cram school in Japan. After they had completed high school in Japan, they started living in English-speaking countries.

This thesis addresses a key bottleneck in hallucination research: the scarcity and limitations of hallucination benchmark datasets. Existing datasets typically focus on a single type of hallucination and are expensive to produce due to the need for manual prompt creation and annotation. To overcome these challenges, we propose a novel mixture-of-experts (MoE) adversarial framework that actively induces hallucinations. Our framework employs three large language model (LLM) agents that iteratively and adversarially revise prompts to provoke hallucinated responses from a target question-answering model. This reflective case study explores the use of Educational Escape Rooms (EERs) within a first-year business module at TU Dublin, developed in response to persistent engagement and retention challenges (Shah et al., 2021; Byrne et al., 2012). Using BreakoutEDU kits and guided by best practice principles including alignment, narrative, and debriefing (Nicholson, 2016; Veldkamp et al., 2020a), sequential EERs were implemented over two academic years. With a large number of power distribution substations (transformers), three-phase imbalance is a commonly observed issue. Due to the high randomness of single-phase loads in the substation area, the amplitude ranking of three-phase voltages and the imbalance degree according to the traditional algorithm change constantly. Based on the feature analysis of the sampled data, differences in the dominant phase amplitudes of three-phase voltages in each substation area during a certain period of time are obtained, identifying the severely unbalanced substation area for manual intervention. To address the low detection accuracy of traveling wave heads for long-distance transmission line faults as well as the location deviation caused by the clock asynchronization of fault detection devices and the uncertainty of traveling wave velocity, this paper proposes a new fault location method for transmission lines based on improved variational mode decomposition (VMD) combined with Teager-Kaiser energy operator (TKEO) to detect the fault traveling wave head and the double-ended traveling wave location formula independent of timing and wave velocity.
