Background: Nurses often face emotional strain due to emotional labor (EL), which involves concealing or modifying genuine feelings to meet their job requirements. This response can lead to physical, psychological, and behavioral issues. The Emotional Labor Scale (ELS), originally in English, has not been translated into Thai, leaving its psychometric properties unexamined in the Thai context. This study aimed to translate the ELS into Thai and evaluate its psychometric properties among Thai nurses.

Background: Anemia is a condition in which the number of red blood cells or hemoglobin (Hb) levels fall below normal, limiting the ability of blood to transport oxygen effectively. This study aimed to develop a predictive model for Hb levels by identifying significant risk factors.

Method: This observational analytic study was conducted among 103 randomly selected students of Bung Hatta University in Padang, Indonesia. Data were collected with a questionnaire and a hemoglobin test between April to May 2024. Pearson’s correlation analysis and multiple linear regression were performed in this study.

Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) is a major health issue globally, particularly in middle-income countries. This study assessed the prevalence and factors linked to uncontrolled T2DM and proposed a machine learning model for early prediction in southern Thailand.

Methods: Data from 60,903 T2DM patients (2016–2023) were obtained from Thailand's National Health Data Center. Multiple logistic regression identified associated factors, and machine learning models were compared for prediction.

Results: Uncontrolled T2DM prevalence was 53.5%, highest among patients ≤44 years (69.5%) and in Pattani (61.6%), Satun (58.1%), and Narathiwat (56.7%). Risk factors included being female, younger age, early or long disease duration, …

This study investigates the association between individual- and contextual-level factors and CRC risk in Thai older adults.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study included 11,167 adults aged ≥60 years from the Khon Kaen Cohort Study (1990–2001), followed through 2020. CRC cases were histologically confirmed. Multilevel Cox regression estimated hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs).

Background: Erectile function (EF) in healthy young adults and students is underexplored, as erectile dysfunction (ED) is typically linked to aging. This study aimed to quantify EF in university students and examine its association with quality of life (QL).

Method: This cross-sectional survey was conducted among 1,556 undergraduate students (aged 16 to 22 years; median: 18, IQR: 18–19) at the largest university in Kazakhstan, Almaty. Preliminary Validation Of The Thai Version Of The Brief Assessment Of Social Skills In Dementia (Bass-D Th), Pornsinee Laisathit, Chavit Tunvirachaisakul

Background: The Brief Assessment of Social Skills – Dementia (BASS-D) was developed to provide a concise and effective measure of social cognition across four domains. This study aimed to validate the Thai version of BASS-D (BASS-D TH) by examining its psychometric properties and the associated factors.

Method: BASS-D was forward and back-translated between Thai and English language. Minor modifications were made to enhance cultural replicability. The BASS-D TH was administered to 28 older adults without dementia and 13 dementia patients.

Results: Mean age (t=-3.67, p < 0.001), education years (t=2.70, p=0.01) and TMSE score (t=7.49, p< 0.001). The control non-dementia group and dementia group showed mean BASS-D TH total scores of 76.43 (SD = 9.1) and 45.85 (SD = 15.1). The findings demonstrated construct validity of BASS-D TH (group difference t = 8.093, p < 0.001). Correlation with established concurrent tests exhibited concurrent validity, particularly with the face emotion perception and memory of new faces tests, and lower correlations with Theory of Mind. Reliability analyses indicated strong internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.807). Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis yielded an Area Under the Curve (AUC) of 0.974.

Mobile devices face risks from replication and anomalous behavior, while attackers compromise WSNs by cloning legitimate nodes, thus threatening network integrity. Traditional security mechanisms often fall short in detecting such sophisticated threats, especially in resource-constrained environments. This research proposes a dual-component security system. This disclosure describes techniques of power-efficient BLE advertising by using a proxy device to effect a seamless reconnection protocol between a central device and a peripheral device without user interaction. A companion device (e.g., a smartphone) paired with a peripheral (e.g., a smartwatch) acts as a BLE proxy. This project explored leadership degradation among mid-to-senior enlisted members (E5–E9) of the United States Air Force using the concept of leadership entropy, the gradual decline of psychological and relational capacity in the absence of sustained support. The topic was selected to address a gap in understanding how internal leadership resilience erodes despite continued performance. A convergent mixed methods design was used, integrating quantitative survey constructs such as burnout, psychological capital, and perceived organizational support with open-ended narrative responses. Malaria, toxoplasmosis, and cryptosporidiosis are caused by apicomplexan parasites Plasmodium spp., Toxoplasma gondii, and Cryptosporidium parvum, respectively, and pose major health challenges. Their therapies are inadequate, ineffective or threatened by drug resistance. The development of novel drugs against them requires innovative and resource-efficient strategies. We exploited the kinome conservation of these parasites to determine the cellular targets and effects of two Plasmodium falciparum inhibitors in T. gondii and C. parvum. BACKGROUND: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is an aggressive hematologic cancer with a notoriously bleak prognosis; for non-M3 AML, the overall 5-year survival rate is ∼30%. While 60-70% of newly diagnosed AML patients will achieve complete remission (CR), half of these patients will experience relapse (secondary resistance) by three years from their diagnosis. Moreover, 30-40% of AML patients present with refractory disease (primary resistance) and cannot respond to frontline treatments. This study examines the role of school connectedness and how racial/ethnic identity in academic outcomes among adolescents/. Guided by the self-determination theory (Ryan & Deci, 2017) and Garcia-Coll et al’s (1996) Integrative Model, it was hypothesized that higher school connectedness predicts higher GPAs, that students whose racial/ethnic identity aligns with their schools’ majority composition experience stronger school connectedness, and the relationship between school connectedness and GPA will be stronger in schools with more matching peers. Since the fourteenth century, countries have sought to criminalize unhoused individuals by labeling them as "vagrants." Currently, the United States and other countries continue to criminalize acts of sleeping rough, begging, loitering and other vagrancy-type activities that disproportionately target unhoused persons. Despite going through a period of decriminalization in the 1960s and 1970s, these punitive measures were largely reinstated by the 1990s. In the most extreme case, vagrancy criminalization was entrenched in a state's constitution. This study presents the application of time-resolved particle image velocimetry (TR-PIV) to measure the mean and fluctuating velocity components in a turbulent boundary layer (TBL) over an axisymmetric body of revolution. A narrow wall-normal strip of the flow was captured using a synchronised high-speed laser and camera at a recording frequency of up to 80 kHz. The resulting streamwise and wall-normal velocity TR-PIV data were validated against hot-wire anemometry measurements and direct numerical simulations (DNS) of a flat plate under matched flow conditions. Photopolymerisation induced shrinkage of holographic materials is one of the main factors which needs to be considered for designing holographic optical elements (HOEs) with high accuracy in light redirection with maximum efficiency. This work studies the shrinkage in photopolymerisable hybrid sol-gel (PHSG) by examining the properties of volume transmission gratings recorded in PHSG layers. It explores both the dependence of shrinkage on the holographic grating parameters (thickness, spatial frequency, slant angle) and the effect of material aging.
