A Content Analysis Of The Cultural Content Of Reading Texts And Dialogues In Action Pack Eight, Considering The Inclusion Criterion, Bassmah Fraihat

This study aimed to analyze the reading texts and dialogues in the Student's Book of Action Pack Eight to determine the extent to which they incorporate cultural content. Frequencies and percentages were used to present the results related to the study’s questions. The findings revealed that the reading texts in Action Pack Eight include all types of cultural content: target cultural content, intercultural content, Arab-Islamic cultural content, and national (Jordanian) cultural content. On the other hand, the dialogues in the Student's Book include all types of cultural content except for the Arab-Islamic content. Overall, the presence of Arab-Islamic content in …

This study reports a case study on the use of graphic organizers in teaching reading comprehension. It focused on teachers' application of graphic organizers in three areas: using semantic maps to teach and expand key words, using concept maps to help students extract information and understand relationships between ideas in expository texts, and using story maps to assist students in identifying the components of literary texts and ordering events chronologically. This study aimed to assess the elderly individuals' ability to adapt economically and culturally, and to examine whether there are differences in their adaptation methods based on gender, educational level, monthly income, and marital status within shelters. The study population consisted of elderly residents in shelters in the Jordanian capital, Amman. The sample included 62 elderly individuals selected through deliberate sampling, provided that their health status and their ability to speak, hear, see, and communicate enabled them to answer the study's questions. This study aimed to assess the level of educational leaders in the Directorate of Education in Jerash regarding their administrative roles, with consideration of modern management thought from the perspectives of their subordinates. The study sample consisted of 106 participants, with 66 males and 40 females, using a questionnaire to achieve the study’s objectives. The results indicated that the practice of educational leaders in the Directorate of Education in Jerash, concerning modern management thought, received a medium level of appraisal from subordinates. This study aimed to identify the values of some kinematic variables that influence the achievement time in the 4 × 10 m shuttle run test within the King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness. This study aimed to outline the main features of the judicial dispute settlement mechanism as a “global” procedure applicable to all World Trade Organization (WTO) members, particularly after the failure of the dispute settlement system under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). This study aimed to identify the most critical periods that led to the emergence of play-based learning as a language instruction tool in the modern era. Additionally, it sought to investigate the effectiveness of using this method in English language instruction. Both chronological and thematic approaches were employed to present the data. The results indicated that the use of games to enhance language learning dates back to ancient societies such as Greece and Rome. In 2014, the National Labor Relations Board’s Regional Director ruled that scholarship football players at Northwestern University were “employees”. Subsequently, in 2015, the full board, and without deciding the players’ status, declined to assert jurisdiction effectively ending the dispute. There are parallels between this dispute and lawsuits currently before the Canadian courts involving the Canadian Hockey League (“CHL”). The CHL is nominally an “amateur” league and is the principal development league for players hoping to pursue a career as a professional hockey player. The Tendency To See Propensity: How Admitting Defendant-Authored Rap Lyrics As Evidence Of Motive Or Intent Can Look Like Inadmissible Character Evidence, Joseph Noreña

Denver Sports & Entertainment Law Journal

Defendant-authored rap lyrics admitted as evidence present unique evidentiary issues. In particular, when such lyrics are admitted to prove the motive or intent of the defendant-author, the lyrics can look like character evidence and be unduly prejudicial. Nevertheless, sometimes those lyrics valuably provide specific admissions of the defendant-author’s motive or intent. As a balance, this article argues that courts should be careful to admit defendant-authored rap lyrics where they are only generally related to a defendant’s motive or intent because of the prejudice a jury might have when seeing or hearing defendant-authored rap lyrics.

Chris Kyle’s book, American Sniper, detailed his exploits as a prolific Navy SEAL sniper. In a book subchapter Kyle detailed an encounter with a “Mr. Scruff Face” in a San Diego Bar. The book states that Ventura made certain statements that were demeaning of the United States and the Navy SEALS.” Scruff Face was subsequently identified by Chris Kyle as Jesse Ventura, former governor of Minnesota. Ventura sued Chris Kyle for defamation, appropriation, and unjust enrichment. With more and more university students in general, but studentathletes in particular, suffering from mental health issues, ranging from eating disorders to depression to serious anxiety, it seems like universities should have to provide some kind of mental health treatment for their student-athletes, especially considering their duty to provide physical health treatment for sports related injuries. However, the question is whether student-athletes would actually have an actionable right to mental health treatment, that they could turn into a successful claim against a university if the university failed to provide them with mental-health treatment.
