هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة مدى مساهمة الملل الأكاديمي في التنبؤ بالتوتر النفسي لدى المراهقين في سلطنة عمان. تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي على عينة مكونة من 522 طالبا (106 ذكور، 416 إناث). وأظهرت النتائج ارتفاع مستويات الملل الأكاديمي على مستوى المقياس العام وأبعاده الفرعية (طرائق التدريس، المحتوى التعليمي، طرائق التقويم). في حين كان التوتر النفسي متوسطاً في المجالين المعرفي والنفسي، ومنخفضاً في المجال الفسيولوجي. كما وجدت علاقة ارتباطية موجبة عند مستوى الدلالة (0,05) بين الملل الأكاديمي والتوتر النفسي. وظهرت فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الجنسين لصالح الإناث في أبعاد المحتوى التعليمي وأساليب التقويم للملل الأكاديمي، ولم تظهر في أساليب التدريس. …

هدفت هذه الدراسة للكشف عن فاعلية التدريس وفق نموذج نيدهام البنائي في تنمية مهارات التفكير الناقد في الفيزياء لدى طلبة الصف العاشر الأساسي في الأردن، تم تطبيق اختبار مهارات التفكير الناقد المكون من (25 ) فقرة على عينة قصدية حجمها (53) طالباً في مدارس محافظة المفرق بالأردن، توزعوا على مجموعتين: تجريبية فيها (27) طالباً درسوا وفق نموذج نيدهام البنائي وضابطة فيها (26) طالباً درسوا بالطريقة الاعتيادية، أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً عند (α = 0.05) بين متوسطات علامات طلاب مجموعتي الدراسة على اختبار مهارات التفكير الناقد لصالح المجموعة التجريبية. أوصت الدراسة باستخدام نموذج نيدهام البنائي في تعليم الفيزياء.

هدفت الدراسة إلى تعرف فاعلية برنامج إرشادي مستند للنظرية المعرفية السلوكية، في خفض الأفكار اللاعقلانية لدى الزوجات المرتبطات بذوي الاضطراب النفسي في مدينة القدس، ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة استُخدم المنهج شبه التجريبي بمجموعة واحدة وقياس قبلي وبعدي، إذ تكونت عينة الدراسة من (14) زوجة من الزوجات المرتبطات بذوي الاضطراب النفسي.

أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في القياسين القبلي والبعدي على مقياس الدراسة لصالح القياس البعدي، ما يفيد بفاعلية البرنامج الإرشادي في خفض الأفكار اللاعقلانية لدى عينة الدراسة، كما أظهرت النتائج أنه لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى دلالة (α<.05) بين متوسطات استجابة أفراد العينة في نتيجة القياسين البعدي والتتبعي لمقياس الأفكار اللاعقلانية، تعزى إلى استمرارية فاعلية البرنامج الإرشادي، ما يشير إلى استمرارية فعالية البرنامج الإرشادي بعد انتهاء تطبيقه.

The current study aimed to identify how manipulated sleep restriction affects dietary choices and physical activity (PA). Young adults were administered one week of well-rested sleep levels (WR: 8–9 h/night) and sleep-restriction (SR: 5–6 h/night) in their (naturalistic) at-home setting, using a randomized cross-over design. Participants made consequential bids for snacks/beverages following SR and WR in an auction task. Other primary outcome measures included daily self-reported dietary intake and actigraphy-measured PA. A large convection cloud chamber has been proposed for exploring aerosol–cloud–drizzle interactions under well-controlled turbulent conditions. Recent theoretical and numerical studies suggest that a convection cloud chamber with two heated and two cooled sidewalls can significantly enhance the liquid water content and thus benefit drizzle initiation. However, a chamber with such a sidewall configuration develops stable stratification and extremely weak turbulence therein. In this study, we conduct large-eddy simulations of a tall convection chamber with five different sidewall configurations consisting of alternating warm and cold patches. This poster explores the presence and impact of microplastics in the Mississippi River through the analysis of two research studies. The first study examined surface water samples to measure microplastic concentration and to assess how land use and geography influence their distribution along the river. The second study looks in on identifying microplastics in the digestive systems of fish collected from different locations along the river. Both studies have shown that microplastics are widespread throughout the river, with higher levels found downstream and in highly populated areas. Cervical spinal cord injury (cSCI) disrupts descending respiratory motor drive and can lead to profound breathing impairments. While a limited, endogenous recovery of respiratory function has been well described following cSCI, this work has predominantly utilized single sex investigations. Given that relatively few treatment options exist to address this respiratory insufficiency, a more complete characterization of respiratory recovery post-cSCI is necessary for the development and evaluation of rehabilitative protocols. The 1957 desegregation crisis at Little Rock Central High School marked a defining moment in the Civil Rights Movement and continues to symbolize the broader struggle for racial equality. This dissertation examines equity in educational spaces through a four-truth lens that was first articulated by the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission and explores forensic, personal, social, and healing truth. While telepsychology has existed in various forms for years and has been researched since the 1960s (Abrams, 2020), it was not until the COVID-19 pandemic that telepsychology started to be widely used. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, one study found that psychologists conducted only around 7% of their work via telepsychology, a number that jumped to over 85% in response to COVID-19 (Pierce, Perrin, Tyler, et al., 2020). Purpose The flipped classroom (FC) model is increasingly used in undergraduate medical education, where it has been associated with improved knowledge acquisition. However, its impact on graduate medical education (GME) remains underexplored. We hypothesized that implementing a flipped didactics curriculum in our internal medicine residency program would improve performance on the Internal Medicine In-Training Examination (IM-ITE) and the American Board of Internal Medicine Certifying Examination (IM-CE). Mutations in Leucine-Rich Repeat protein Kinase 2 (LRRK2) are associated with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and Crohn’s disease (CD), but the regulation of LRRK2 during inflammation remains relatively unexplored. Here we describe the development of a flow cytometry-based assay to assess LRRK2 activity in individual cells and the generation of an EGFP-Lrrk2 knock-in reporter mouse to analyse cell-specific LRRK2 expression. Using these tools, we measured LRRK2 levels and activity in murine splenic and intestinal immune cells and in human blood. The action-mode network (AMN) is a canonical functional brain network first identified using resting-state functional connectivity (RSFC). Based on animal and human data, we have proposed that AMN supports the brain's action mode by controlling functions required for successful goal-directed behavior. However, task fMRI averaged across groups has associated AMN regions with a variety of behaviors, contributing to uncertainty about AMN function.
