While China has observed an increasing influx of foreign nationals, a notable phenomenon involves Chinese emigrants opting for return migration to reestablish themselves in their country of origin. The process of emigrants returning to China, referred to as “return and resettlement” (huiguo dingju 回国定居) in official terminology, however, is not automatic. Emigrant returnees must fulfill a set of selective and documentary criteria, implying that only economically affluent and duly documented migrants are permitted to resettle in China. Apps for our smartphones are ubiquitous. Free apps usually require exchanging personal information. Mobile payments in the U.S. are expected to almost double by 2027. Peer-to-peer (P2P) payment apps are a subcategory of said apps. Venmo is a P2P payment app that gathers user data from their smartphone and publicizes user transactions. A between-subject survey shows respondents are concerned about privacy with P2P payment apps, even when only describing what the app does. Because the head supported mass worn by military pilots adds loading to the head-neck complex, morphometrical characteristics of neck muscles are expected to be different from those that do not wear the added mass. To accurately determine segmental neck loads using computational whole-body human or head-neck models, it is important to include accurate morphometrical properties of cervical muscles from the population of interest, in this case military pilots. Routine radiographic imaging (x-rays and computed tomography scans) is less optimal, while magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is appropriate. In general chemistry, several revisions have focused on framing around a set of core or anchoring concepts, and we recently adapted the anchoring concepts content map (ACCM) of the American Chemical Society (ACS) to develop an anchoring concept-based curriculum for our general chemistry courses. The City of Boston Planning Department has found that Boston’s population was undercounted in the 2020 Census by as many as 25,000 people and that subsequent population estimates continue to understate the population.1 The Planning Department’s Research Division has developed a tool to display limited demographic data, but these population estimates are insufficient for purposes of this report.2 Therefore, this report uses 2019-2023 American Community Survey and may therefore undercount Boston’s population. Perioperative identification of ischemic-hypoxic tissue is essential for reducing the risk of mastectomy skin flap necrosis (MSFN), a major complication following mastectomy. Implant-based breast reconstruction is jeopardized in the presence of MSFN. However, existing technologies are limited by depth insensitivity, dye-related risks, the need for contact sensors, and an inability to simultaneously assess both blood flow and oxygenation. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of computed tomography (CT)-guided percutaneous microwave ablation (MWA) of liver hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) lesions in patients with pre-existing diuretic-resistant ascites. There is logical hesitation among clinicians to pursue MWA in these decompensated patients for fear of worsening an already bleak prognosis, but there is limited evidence to justify this behavior. Severe obesity (SevO) is a primary driver of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), cardiometabolic diseases (CMD) and several cancers, with a disproportionate impact on marginalized populations. SevO is an understudied global health disease, limiting knowledge about its mechanisms and impacts. Objective: Analyze the impact of COVID-19 on outpatient mental health (OP-MH) utilization patterns, particularly telehealth, across eight different MH conditions with a 2-year follow-up.

Methods: This population-based cohort study uses a 5% random sample of Medicare beneficiaries aged ≥18 and newly diagnosed with one of the eight MH disorders: psychotic, depressive, bipolar, anxiety, trauma-related, substance-use, other MH disorders, and two or more MH disorders. Monthly OP-MH utilization patterns were compared among patients in 2020-2021 newly diagnosed in 2019 to comparable prepandemic cohorts newly diagnosed in 2017. Introduction: atrial fibrillation is increasingly diagnosed in Kenya due to the persistence of rheumatic heart disease and the rising burden of cardiovascular risk factors. We aim to describe the baseline, clinical, treatment characteristics, and six-month outcomes of patients diagnosed with atrial fibrillation in Kenya.

Methods: a retrospective observational cohort study design was employed. Data were obtained from three Kenyan referral hospitals, including public and private institutions. Baseline and six-month data were collected. Depending on the type of variable, data were summarized descriptively.

This paper discusses pitfalls in two way fixed effects (TWFE) regressions when the outcome variables contain nonlinear and possibly stochastic trend components. If a policy change shifts trend paths of outcome variables, TWFE estimation can distort results and invalidate inference, especially in a context of evolving policy decisions. A robust solution is proposed by allowing for dynamic club membership empirically using a relative convergence test procedure. The prevalence of physical aggression among women has increased, challenging traditional gender norms that portray women as nurturing and nonviolent. While most research on aggression has focused on men, children, or intimate partner violence, research is sparse concerning female aggression outside familial contexts. In this qualitative multiple-case study, the contextual antecedents of nonfamilial aggression in women arrested for aggressive behavior were explored using the general aggression model as the theoretical framework.
