Real-time monitoring of slag chemistry is critical for optimizing Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steelmaking operations, where dynamic variations in slag composition directly influence slag foaming, refractory degradation, and thermal efficiency. Conventional techniques such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) are commonly used to analyze slag composition, but their offline nature and equipment constraints limit their applicability for online monitoring in harsh industrial environments. Childhood cancer incidence has steadily risen both in the United States and worldwide, yet its environmental contributors remain underrecognized in clinical care. Children and cancer survivors are particularly susceptible to environmental exposures due to their unique physiology and the long-term health vulnerabilities that follow cancer treatment. Although exposures to substances such as pesticides, air pollution, and household chemicals are linked to increased cancer risk, limited clinical frameworks and clinician training leave oncologists underprepared to address growing environmental health concerns from families. Introduction

From structural, anatomical, and functional perspectives, components of the thoracoabdominal region are heterogeneous and physiologically and functionally different. Although their tolerances to injury are expected to be different, the current Roma Plastilina No. 1 clay penetration criterion for behind armor blunt trauma (BABT) is not specific to the body region. It is important to develop regional injury criteria to ensure its specificity. The objective of the study is to conduct impact tests on the lung region using a live animal model and develop injury risk curves using velocity and deflection metrics via parametric survival analysis.

BACKGROUND: In recent years, there has been an emergence of new antigens discovered in membranous nephropathy (MN). Whether these antigens have impacted the approach to, and management of, MN patients undertaken by nephrologists is still unclear.

METHODS: We conducted a cross-sectional international survey pertaining to 13 antigens recently discovered in MN. The survey was distributed by the National Kidney Foundation, direct emails, and social media.

RESULT: PLA2R, THSD7A, NELL1, and EXT1/2 testing were readily available while the most common response for other antigen testing was 'Not Performed' or 'Unknown'. All respondents had tested for or treated PLA2R-positive MN. Of 79 …

Large wind turbines yield more energy but demand careful aeroelastic blade design. Coupled multiphysics design strategies can reduce wind energy costs exploiting fluid-structure interactions. This work presents the first high-fidelity aerostructural optimization study of a large wind turbine rotor.We use blade-resolved fluid dynamics and structural solvers in a monolithic gradient-based optimization framework to explore steady-state torque and blade mass trade-offs. The coupled-adjoint approach computes gradients efficiently, enabling the optimization of over 100 structural and geometric parameters simultaneously. Our optimization study modifies a DTU 10 MW benchmark with a simplified structure and isotropic material properties. The tightly coupled optimizations increase torque …

Evaluation Of Achievement Change In Egypt Using Pirls Data, Harry Anthony Patrinos, Maciej Jakubowski, Tomasz Gajderowicz

This study analyzes Egypt's exceptional reading achievement gains during the COVID-19 school closures, a period when most countries experienced declines. Drawing on data from the 2016 and 2021 Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS), we find a 48-point improvement-equivalent to two years of learning-with notable gains among boys. Using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and projected trend models, we confirm the significance of this rise. Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition attributes only one-third of the improvement to observed factors. The study finds that Egypt's progress likely reflects systemic reforms, but more research is needed to confirm that.

This work provides a systematic analysis of agentic AI frameworks, governance models, and implementation strategies. Drawing on a comprehensive review of the literature, we examine the current state of agentic AI technologies, highlight key challenges in governance, security, and ethical oversight, and compare architectural frameworks for responsible deployment. The question concerning the true nature of law has frequently arisen throughout the history of philosophy, and many different answers have been given to it. This thesis examines Johann Gottlieb Fichte’s Foundations of Natural Right (1796–1797), which exemplifies an approach to understanding the nature of law by inquiring into its metaphysical foundations. Fichte provides a conception of law founded upon the possibility of the existence of an external world, individuality, and intersubjectivity. Law, as a moment of human self-consciousness, becomes a necessity, a condition of self-consciousness, and the ultimate foundation of human existence. Background/Aims The rate of exclusive breastfeeding in the first 6 months is still low, despite global active promotion of the practice. The exclusive breastfeeding rate among first-time mothers is much lower than among multiparous women, which has been attributed to difficulties assuming the new role and a lack of breastfeeding skills. This study aimed to gain an in-depth understanding of first-time mothers' breastfeeding experiences and the factors that influence these experiences during the early postpartum period in Nairobi, Kenya.

The privacy paradox, where individuals express privacy concerns yet continue to disclose personal information, has been widely studied in Western and Asian contexts, but remains underexplored in the Arab world.
