Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for ∼50% of HF cases. The ZSF1-obese rat model recapitulates clinical features of HFpEF including hypertension, obesity, metabolic syndrome, exercise intolerance, and diastolic dysfunction. We utilized a systems-biology approach to define the metabolic and transcriptional signatures to gain mechanistic insight into pathways contributing to HFpEF development. Male ZSF1-obese, ZSF1-lean hypertensive controls, and WKY (wild-type) controls were compared at 14 weeks of age for extensive physiological phenotyping and left ventricle (LV) tissue harvesting for unbiased-metabolomics, RNA-sequencing, and mitochondrial morphology and function. Barium nanoparticles (BaNPs), cobalt nanoparticles (CoNPs), and hybrid barium-cobalt nanocomposites (BaCoNCs) were synthesized using an eco-friendly green technique with Anacardium occidentale leaf extract for sequestration of methylene blue (MB) dye and lead (Pb (II)) ions from industrial wastewater. The nanoparticles and nanocomposites were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution scanning electron microscopy (HRSEM), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis to assess their functional groups, crystalline structure, morphology, and surface properties, confirming successful synthesis. Over 95% of ependymomas that arise in the cortex are driven by a gene fusion involving the zinc finger translocation-associated (ZFTA) protein. Here, using super-resolution and lattice light-sheet microscopy, we demonstrate that the most frequent fusion variant, ZFTA-RELA (ZR), forms dynamic nuclear condensates that are required for oncogene expression and tumorigenesis. Mutagenesis studies of ZR reveal a key intrinsically disordered region (IDR) in RELA that governs condensate formation. Condensate-modulating IDR mutations introduced into ZR impaired its genomic occupancy at oncogenic loci and inhibited the recruitment of transcriptional effector proteins, such as MED1, BRD4 and RNA polymerase II. Aims: There is a paucity of information on the pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of menthol, the active ingredient in peppermint oil (PMO). We studied the PK of menthol (540 and 900 mg) in children and measured their effects on gut transit/contractility.

Methods: Children 7-12 years of age with functional abdominal pain underwent wireless motility capsule (WMC) testing. One week later, they were randomized to 540 mg or 900 mg of oral enteric-coated PMO. Blood was sampled over 24 h to determine menthol PK. Finding Aids

The collection dates from 1938 to 2001 and consists of meeting minutes, administrative records, photographs, and newspaper clippings documenting the activities of the Herty Foundation, its laboratory, and pilot plant. Photographs include views of the early pilot plant, laboratory, and shipyard around 1938 and the opening of the new pilot plant in 1957. Newspaper clippings report on the Herty Foundation and its work between 1953 and 1980.

Worldwide, extrusion-based additive construction of cementitious materials or 3D Concrete Printing (3DCP) has gained significant momentum for large-scale construction in recent years. This technology has advanced building construction across the world; however, it is rather underdeveloped in transportation infrastructure construction. This paper addresses major hurdles hindering the wider adoption of 3DCP for unreinforced/plain pipe culvert construction. More specifically, the authors investigated the load-bearing capacity of large-scale pipes under the three-edge bearing (TEB) test. The nutrition status of an organism depends on the balance between nutrient intake and utilization. Malnutrition results not only from inadequate caloric intake but also from imbalanced macronutrient ratios, which can affect aging, metabolism, and health. While many studies focus on individual nutrients, this study used purified, isocaloric diets with varying macronutrient ratios to assess dietary effects on nutrition markers in Swiss albino mice.

Background Thevetia peruviana, commonly known as Yellow Oleander or Cabbage Tree, is a tropical shrub. Extracts from various parts of the plant (e.g., leaves, seeds) have demonstrated pesticidal properties, including the ability to repel or kill intermediate hosts of Schistosomiasis. Methods This study employed gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis to identify 33 compo nents in the ethanol extract, with key compounds exhibiting antioxidant, anti‑inflammatory, anticancer, and anti microbial properties. This paper examines the use of advanced numerical techniques to approximate solutions of the Fisher equation with higher-order accuracy. This technique integrates the method of lines with a strong stability-preserving Runge–Kutta scheme of orders four and five stages (SSPRK-54) for the numerical formulation. This scheme is then tested on two examples and the results show that it is more efficient than existing methods and requires less computing power. These equations are widely used across scientific and engineering disciplines, with particular relevance in biomedical studies, such as estimating the boundary size of tumors.
