This study aimed to determine the psychological reactions and emotions of patients with COVID-19 infection and the social consequences during hospitalization. The current study used a qualitative and phenomenological design at a training and research hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. Schizophrenia is often characterized by delusions and hallucinations, which often appear as manifestations of religious delusions in the Banjar cultural context. This phenomenon can be understood through the hyper-religiosity theory, which explains excessive religious behavior in individuals with schizophrenia. This qualitative case study aims to identify the forms of religious delusion in individuals with hyper-religiosity and the underlying causal factors. This phenomenon raises a problem, especially for people experiencing body acceptance concerns and body dysmorphia symptoms, as both of these variables may be linked with photo selfie-taking behavior. Modern walking often involves secondary tasks that may increase fall risk, especially in older adults. About one-third of adults aged 65+ fall annually, with dual-tasking further elevating this risk. This study examines how cognitive and motor dual-tasks affect gait variability. Ten healthy young adults completed baseline and three dual-task conditions: (1) walking with a Stroop test, (2) walking while carrying a tray with water, and (3) both tasks combined. Gait parameters—including step length, step width, stride length, and double support time—were analyzed. This thesis evaluates the operational performance of residential and non-residential buildings in a humid subtropical climate, emphasizing Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) and energy performance through empirical data and assessment models. Motivated by the increasing need for integrated sustainability evaluations, this study combines a systematic review with multi-method field investigations to advance understanding in this domain. The systematic review critically analyzed 99 case study articles, identifying dominant IEQ assessment methodologies and highlighting methodological inconsistencies that hinder cross-study comparability. This study aimed to translate, adapt, and validate the modified version of the Player Experience of Need Satisfaction (PENS) for Malaysian Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) players. The translation and adaptation process involved a rigorous procedure with nine mental health and linguistic experts. A non-probability sampling method was applied by recruiting 491 participants from the MOBA Facebook groups. The parallel analysis indicated a two-factor structure (autonomy and competence as one factor and relatedness as another factor). Confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated a better model fit for the translated version compared with the original English version, with satisfactory psychometric properties. Future studies …

Space-based gravitational wave detectors, such as the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) and Taiji, will observe GWs from O(108) galactic binary systems, allowing a completely unobscured view of the Milky Way structure. While previous studies have established theoretical expectations based on idealized data-analysis methods that use the true catalog of sources, we present an end-to-end analysis pipeline for inferring galactic structure parameters based on the detector output alone. We employ the GBSIEVER algorithm to extract GB signals from LISA Data Challenge data and develop a maximum likelihood approach to estimate a bulge-disk galactic model using the resolved GBs. Guided by a life-reflectance perspective, this thesis investigates the academic and emotional experiences of BYU students with Afro-Diaporic immigrant parents, focusing on how they navigate familial expectations, cultural brokering, and identity formation.

The researcher conducted qualitative research in the form of interviewing five BYU students, born in the United States of America, with Afro-Diasporic migrant parents. By identifying positive and negative effects of their experiences on their socio-emotional health, the results identified commonalities and deviations in the students’ experiences that affect their overall BYU experience and cultural identity awareness.

This study examines the combined effects of green noise and texting on gait to understand how multitasking and auditory stimuli affect walking stability. Green noise, associated with relaxation, was the environmental stimulus; texting the cognitive distractor. We hypothesized texting would reduce cadence and stride length, with green noise either stabilizing or disrupting gait. Ten participants walked on a treadmill under five conditions: normal walking (NW), no texting/sound (WNTNS), sound only (WNTS), texting only (WTNS), and texting with sound (WTS). Introduction: Leadless intracardiac pacemakers (LICPs) reduce lead-related complications but may be malpositioned in patients with unrecognized structural defects. We report a 69-year-old man with high-grade AV block whose LICP, intended for right ventricular placement, was found in the left ventricle via an undiagnosed ostium secundum ASD after presenting with multifocal embolic strokes 16 months later. Case Presentation: Stroke workup for acute right-sided symptoms revealed the LICP in the LV and a large, previously undiagnosed ASD with bidirectional shunting and severe pulmonary hypertension. Embolic infarcts were attributed to either paradoxical embolism or device-related thromboembolism. Due to high surgical risk, …

WindNinja is one of many software tools first responders use to better understand wind flow over such terrain. BACKGROUND: The Rural Hospital Tax Credit program, legislated by the Georgia General Assembly, provides financial support to rural hospitals by allowing Georgia taxpayers to contribute to eligible rural hospitals, receiving a 100% tax credit for their donation. While the policy aims to improve hospital financial stability, little is known about public awareness of the program or factors influencing willingness to donate. This study examines community members’ awareness of the Georgia rural hospital tax credit program and their willingness to donate to it to better understand donor perspectives in underserved areas.

Allegedly named after a dog show judge, our late dog Rodi was never a Recovery-Oriented Dog Intervention (RODI). Through collaborative-duo-autoethnography, we explore how our mundane co-existence with Rodi has influenced our perspectives on health struggles, recovery, ontology, and what really matters when life becomes difficult, and push comes to shove. We have shared texts describing our memories of how Rodi entered and influenced our lives. Through our collaborative writing we have discovered similarities and differences. Young adults who age out of the foster care system face a unique set of challenges including increased risk of homelessness, substance use, mental health problems, and difficulty with employment. The current phenomenological study aims to understand participants’ experiences of Project P.A.T.H., a group psychoeducational group intervention aimed at improving self-efficacy, employment hope, and job search knowledge in individuals who were unemployed or underemployed and actively seeking employment. Participants were recruited through the FLITE Center, a nonprofit organization providing services supporting individuals transitioning out of the foster system. Unresolved tissue damage is a common feature of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) that facilitates disease progression. Here, we showed that high animal fat diets (HFD), an environmental risk factor associated with IBD pathogenesis, suppress intestinal macrophage production of critical tissue repair responses after damage. This includes reduced IL-23 production, which drives downstream production of IL-22, which is needed for barrier repair. Indicating that dietary lipids interfere with responses to microbial molecules needed to induce barrier protective functions, we found oleic acid could directly suppress macrophage Il23a induction after lipopolysaccharide (LPS) treatment. Deleting the lipid transporter CD36 on macrophages restored the …

As organizations increasingly adopt artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to optimize their supply chain operations, they face a growing set of ethical challenges that demand careful consideration. This study explores the key ethical dilemmas and potential solutions in implementing AI within the supply chain context, drawing insights from in-depth interviews with a diverse group of experts. The thematic analysis of the interview data revealed four primary ethical dilemmas: algorithmic bias and discrimination, lack of transparency and explainability, privacy and data ethics issues, and the socioeconomic impacts of AI-driven automation. The current study examined reentry experience among men following incarceration to determine salient protective and risk factors. The study reviews the impacts of incarceration, previous factors of recidivism identified in research, and qualitative research conducted on justice-involved individuals. Using a grounded theory qualitative approach, nine men recruited from a substance use treatment program who were released from prison within the past five years were interviewed to explore protective and risk factors. Findings from the current study were consistent with previous research in identifying barriers to reentry, such as difficulties finding housing, employment, and transportation. The increasing frequency of fraud cases in the industrial sector, including textiles, reflects the insufficient implementation of internal controls, whistleblowing mechanisms, and ethical organizational culture. Internal actors both individuals and groups are often responsible, underscoring the need for a systematic approach to prevention. This study examines the influence of internal control systems, whistleblowing systems, and organizational culture on fraud prevention at PT Triana Harvestindo Nusantara.
