Dynamic IR drop, a transient loss of supply voltage proportional to current (I) and resistance (R), can erode timing margins on advanced process nodes.  Decoupling capacitors (decaps) inserted near cells with high switching activity can suppress the drop.  The regions that need decaps, however, tend toward heavy routing congestion, so a newly placed decap can trigger detailed routing design rule violations (DRVs).  An example routability-aware method selects decap locations and bounded cell moves through a linear program built from measured routing data.  The method models cell currents as rectangular envelopes over binned time, computes a missing charge from a charge …

This paper describes the QUINTO-CMC modular articulation architecture, built to hold high structural loads in contaminated or corrosive operating environments while cutting static holding power to a minimal telemetry-only draw. The system replaces high-maintenance, actively powered joints with an unpowered, field-replaceable cartridge that locks mechanically under zero electrical load. The physical joint module weighs no more than 1.75 kg. Static holding draw is limited to 18–25 W for telemetry and monitoring alone — the mechanical lock itself needs no electrical power. Legalizing a mixed‑size layout that holds large hard macro blocks together with millions of standard cells becomes difficult at advanced technology nodes, where mismatched technology grids and zero‑slack boundaries leave narrow room for movement.  Prior approaches bound macro movement with one static displacement limit, so a tight limit can leave macros out of alignment and a loose limit can deadlock a discrete engine.  Disclosed is a two‑phase method that separates legalization from alignment.  A first phase carries hard feasibility rules without an alignment objective and returns a legal coordinate set.  A bounds scaling module then sizes a search window for …

Write margins in a static random-access memory (SRAM) array shift with semiconductor process variation, and the shift grows severe at the slow-NMOS/fast-PMOS (SF) corner, where a strong pull-up network inside a storage cell resists an overwrite.  A raised supply voltage widens that mismatch gap further.  A write pulse modulation method addresses the problem by coupling a contention circuit to the dummy bitline of a replica timing path.  The contention circuit holds an active pull-up against a dummy pull-down network, so the discharge rate of the dummy bitline follows the local ratio of PMOS drive to NMOS drive.  Reset logic ends …

A security architecture is proposed herein for controlling privileged actions by artificial intelligence (AI) agents and automated workloads across operating-system, container, cluster, and tenant namespaces. The architecture evaluates cumulative capability risk and issues narrowly scoped, short-lived operation leases. Each lease is cryptographically bound to the requesting workload, target object, operation arguments, namespace context, policy version, and a human-auditable explanation, and is verified by the operating-system kernel at the moment of execution. The system includes an attribute subscription registry configured to store a consumer identifier, a topic identifier, and a list of permitted attribute paths for each consumer. Financial transaction processing systems, for example in payroll, can face challenges where validation is reactive, leading to the late discovery of complex discrepancies after payments are executed. A system and method are described for pre-execution validation of financial transactions. The system can function as a validation layer that applies business rules to batches of transaction data using techniques such as set-based processing. This approach can identify potential anomalies across large datasets before execution. Systems for organizing products on digital commerce platforms can be limited by rigid taxonomies that may not capture nuanced attributes, and some high-dimensional vector representations can lack interpretability. A computational framework can transform product information into a semantically organized and navigable space. The framework can encode products into high-dimensional vectors and then employ two parallel processes. One path may use clustering algorithms and generative language models to group products into labeled sub-archetypes. Current conversational AI systems rely on monotonic streaming, requiring users to wait for complete responses before correcting misinterpretations. This disclosure describes a bifurcated dual-dispatch architecture that steers generative AI outputs mid-stream. By pairing a localized Small Language Model (SLM) shadow parser with a high-capacity frontier LLM, the system dynamically analyzes real-time client-side behavioral telemetry - including keystroke dwell times, backspace mutation ratios, and paste metadata to predict user intent and cognitive friction. Background: Patients who breathe “through the neck only” following tracheostomy or total laryngectomy cannot be ventilated through the mouth or nose. Misunderstanding or misuse of airway terminology can lead to catastrophic management errors, including hypoxia, brain injury, or death. Despite growing awareness, no standardized, patient-centered nomenclature exists for describing airway anatomy in these populations.

Near-peer teaching (NPT) involves senior students teaching junior students from the same discipline (Zheng & Wang, 2022). While NPT is integrated extensively in medicine, it recently gained traction in nurse education (Irvine et al., 2018). Near-peer teaching in classrooms/laboratories has been found to enhance senior nursing students’ leadership and teaching skills and junior nursing students’ knowledge and psychomotor skills (Irvine et al., 2018; Zhang et al., 2022). Purpose: This study explores how activity space collective efficacy strengthens families to buffer against depressive symptoms, which may lead to substance use. By identifying these pathways, we aim to improve prevention strategies.

Methods: Data from the Adolescent Health Development in Context study (n = 1,538) were used for mediation models with 10,000 bootstrap draws. The main predictor was activity space collective efficacy. Mediators were family support and depressive symptoms. The outcome was marijuana use. Models controlled for age, sex, race, caregiver education, and baseline marijuana use.

Child marriage affects nearly 1 in 5 young women globally.1 UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 specifically set a target of eliminating child marriage by 2030.1 While the prevalence of child marriage is decreasing worldwide, sub-Saharan Africa is experiencing rising levels.2 Mozambique has the 8th highest rate of child marriage in the world, with 48% of girls married before the age of 18 and 13% married before the age of 15.3

As of 2024, 2,631,356 individuals in South Korea are registered as persons with disabilities, representing 5.1% of the total population. They are at increased risk of preventable secondary health conditions and chronic diseases, further exacerbated by social and environmental barriers such as limited mobility, insufficient provider awareness, and inadequate disability-friendly healthcare infrastructure. These challenges underscore the need for a multidisciplinary team-based approach, in which care coordinators play a critical role. However, despite the establishment of Regional Health and Medical Centers for Persons with Disabilities, coordinators’ roles remain poorly defined, and structured training programs are lacking.

Recently, the use of natural fibers in place of polymer fibers in high performance concrete has been explored for improved mechanical properties (including reduced spalling) and greater sustainability. This project aims to recycle biomass waste produced by the medical cannabis industry by using it in concrete. We have designed and conducted multiple studies to determine efficient methods for fiber harvest and processing from our in-house medical cannabis waste. Background: Caring for a child with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) places significant physical and emotional demands on parents and may negatively affect caregiver quality of life (QoL). This study assessed caregiver burden and QoL among parents of children with DMD.

Methods: This study included 77 parents of children with genetically confirmed DMD recruited from two pediatric neurology and pediatric neuromuscular clinics (King Abdulaziz University Hospital and Alsalama Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia). Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate neonatal outcomes associated with birthweight discordance in twin pregnancies managed at a regional tertiary care centre in Oman. Methods: This five-year retrospective cohort study (2020–2024) was conducted at Nizwa Hospital, Nizwa, Oman, and included twin pregnancies of ≥ 24 weeks' gestation. Birthweight discordance was defined as ≥ 20%. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed, adjusting for gestational age at delivery, chorionicity, preeclampsia and gestational diabetes mellitus. Results: A total of 226 twin pregnancies were included, of which 45 (19.9%) had birthweight discordance ≥ 20%. Discordant pregnancies were delivered at an earlier gestational age than …

Four Year Reflection: Scaling Transformative Advanced Manufacturing Pathways (Stamp), Benjamin Boer, Rouzbeh Rahai

This data brief presents a four-year cumulative reflection on the Scaling Transformative Advanced Manufacturing Pathways (STAMP) initiative, tracking student participation, industry credential attainment, and projected long-term economic impacts across 19 participating Illinois school districts. Authored by Rouzbeh Rahai and Benjamin Boer of the Education Systems Center at Northern Illinois University (EdSystems) in partnership with the Illinois Manufacturers' Association (IMA) Foundation, the report examines student-level data from 10,424 unique participants. Findings highlight that students with high economic needs out-attain their peers—representing 69% of credential earners—and that earned credentials account for $57.8 million in potential additional lifetime earnings.
