Journal of Educational Research and Practice

Each year, 1.1–1.9 million children and adolescents in the United States experience a concussion or mild traumatic brain injury (TBI), and many return to school (RTS) with symptoms disrupting learning and well-being. Although effective RTS care requires coordinated support, implementation remains inconsistent across the United States. This study explored how one RTS program, the Central Oregon TBI (COR-TBI) model, was established and sustained over time. Using a deductive qualitative design guided by the National Implementation Research Network framework, we interviewed nine key organizers and coded data using leadership, competency, and organization drivers. Classroom group work can reproduce broader social inequalities when status-based expectations shape whose contributions are valued or ignored. Intergroup Contact Theory (IGCT) proposes conditions of contact that can reduce prejudice but provides limited explanation of the interactional processes through which these conditions generate cooperation or alter status expectations. We integrate IGCT with the Theory of Social Commitments and Status Construction Theory to identify micro-level structural mechanisms that instructors can leverage to create more equitable intergroup interactions that can also enable social learning and bias reduction toward underrepresented groups. Aulacaspis yasumatsui , the Asian cycad scale, is a threat to cycads and causes the plants to decline. This study evaluated pest presence and ecological factors at Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens Florida. Surveys on 28–29 September and 23 October 2026 recorded 27 cycads: Zamia integrifolia (n = 11), Z. furfuracea (n = 11), Cycas revoluta (n = 2), C. rumphii (n = 2) and Encephalartos hildenbrandtii (n = 1). Abstract Software-defined vehicles (SDVs) change after sale through over-the-air (OTA) updates. We define automotive sustainability as maximizing useful service from the materials, battery, and energy invested in a vehicle over it’s life cycle, in turn promoting long-term ecological balance. OTA updates advance this in three ways: extending service life, fixing defects remotely, and adding software that lowers energy use, such as off-peak charging recommendations. Energy features, however, save energy only when drivers notice, understand, and safely use them. Florida’s Indian River Lagoon (IRL) is one of the most biodiverse estuaries in the world, providing habitat for over 600 known fish species. In the 1950s, much of the IRL’s intertidal wetlands were diked and flooded to prevent mosquito reproduction. Beginning in the 1980s, rotational impoundment management (RIM) was implemented, allowing for seasonal flooding of impoundments during mosquito breeding season, creating a temporary barrier for fish migration. Plastic pollution is an ongoing environmental concern for Daytona Beach, Florida, where coastal ecosystems, marine wildlife, and tourism can be affected by plastic waste entering the ocean. Conventional plastics can persist in the environment for long periods, gradually breaking into microplastics that threaten aquatic organisms and may enter the food chain. This project examines the potential benefits of introducing a newly developed, ocean-degradable plastic to the Daytona Beach area as an alternative to conventional plastic materials. Spirit-empowered ministers face questions about how artificial intelligence is shaping the people they serve. Congregants may turn to chatbots for spiritual counsel, while pastors weigh the use of AI tools in their ministries. An unusual episode involving an AI-agent-created religion, the Church of Molt, offers an occasion to examine the development of generative AI and the Church’s responsibility in the face of it. This article adapts Paul Hiebert’s method of critical contextualization to examine the five tenets of this machine religion as a prophetic mirror for the Church. This article explores the prayer tradition within the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) by examining the prayer ministry of four notable COGIC women: Lizzie Woods Robinson, E. J. Dabney, Elsie Shaw, and Frances Kelly. The prayer ministry in COGIC, often led by women, historically drove tremendous growth and encouraged a lively Pentecostal holiness spirituality that remains the lifeblood of the denomination. Intergenerational Christian Formation: An Incubator And Catalyst For The Transformation Of Adult Youth Ministry Volunteers, Kerry R. Loescher

This article explores the changes that bonus spiritual parents and grandparents experience as they persistently journey with adolescents through the ongoing programmed, relational youth ministry of their local church. To better understand this phenomenon, 31 semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted. The findings demonstrate that intergenerational ministry significantly impacts adult volunteers, transforming their public faith, increasing anticipation of God’s work, and fostering significant relationships within the volunteer team.

How Gen Z College Students Encounter The Holy Spirit, Daniel D. Isgrigg, Anna M. Marley

This article examines the experiences of the Holy Spirit among Generation Z college students at a Spirit-empowered university. The qualitative study documents and analyzes experiences and the language used to express them, with the goal of enhancing the understanding of pneumatology within Gen Z populations. Through an oral history archival project, the researchers collected 31 testimonies regarding Holy Spirit encounters. The testimonies were analyzed and coded to identify and evaluate trends in Holy Spirit experiences, contributing to research on Generation Z spirituality.

This article argues that the contemporary crisis of Pentecostal preaching is fundamentally pneumatological before it is homiletical. Digital technology has not merely altered the methods of pastoral communication; it has restructured the very conditions in which pastoral authority is formed, exercised, and received. Drawing on Ray S. Anderson, Terry Cross, Truls Åkerlund, Daniel Tomberlin, and Amos Yong—alongside insights from the author’s own paracletic leadership framework— this article proposes a constructive response to the mediatization of preaching. A Retrospective Study Of The Frequency And Factors Associated With Elevated Serum Aspartate Aminotransferase Activity In Domestic Rabbits, Natakorn Siriwattanasatorn, Sompoth Weerakhun

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

This study aimed to identify factors associated with elevated aspartate aminotransferase (AST) activity and to evaluate the frequency of elevated AST and its association with mortality in domestic rabbits. A retrospective cohort study was conducted between 2021 and 2022, including 1,435 rabbits that underwent blood testing for AST. A significant association was observed between health status and elevated AST activity (P < 0.001). Elevated AST activity was observed in 14.64% (95/649) of healthy rabbits and 33.97% (267/786) of diseased rabbits. Among the 138 rabbits that died during hospitalization, 79 (57.24%) had elevated AST activity. Several hematological and biochemical parameters were associated with elevated AST activity. Leukocytosis, leukopenia, neutropenia, lymphopenia, decreased RBC count, decreased hemoglobin, decreased hematocrit, and thrombocytopenia, elevated ALT, elevated BUN, and elevated creatinine showed positive associations, whereas erythrocytosis, elevated total protein, and elevated albumin showed negative associations. Among diseased rabbits, elevated AST activity was positively associated with several clinical signs, including abnormal mucous membranes, depressed mentation, anorexia, emaciation, hyperthermia, unconsciousness, weakness, decreased fecal output, abdominal pain, and dyspnea; hypersalivation showed an inverse association. Disease conditions positively associated with elevated AST activity included gastrointestinal hypomotility, allergic rhinitis, pneumonia, heat stroke, anaphylactic shock, renal disease, cardiovascular disease, hepatic disease, toxin ingestion, malnutrition, and hypoglycemia, whereas malocclusion showed an inverse association. A 3-year-old intact male Siberian Husky was presented to Prasu Arthorn Veterinary Teaching Hospital with acute restrictive dyspnea and was diagnosed with spontaneous pneumothorax based on thoracic radiography and computed tomography, which revealed pulmonary bullae and pneumomediastinum. Initial thoracocentesis resulted in temporary improvement; however, recurrence necessitated placement of bilateral thoracostomy tubes. Because persistent air leakage continued despite thoracostomy tube drainage and conservative suction, and thoracotomy was not feasible, the pneumothorax was considered refractory to conservative management and autologous blood patch pleurodesis was performed as salvage therapy.
