DevOps education presents unique pedagogical challenges due to the diversity of tools, rapid technological change, and the multidisciplinary nature of the field. Although previous work has proposed recommendations to address these challenges, it is unclear how educators perceive these recommendations and whether they align with the challenges encountered in practice. In this paper, we present a quantitative and qualitative methods study involving 11 DevOps educators who interacted with Improve, a tool that presents a curated set of educational challenges and recommendations derived from previous literature. ‘Trade wars are good, and easy to win,’ tweeted Donald Trump in 2018. The US–China trade war that followed proved otherwise – especially when confronting a major economic power. Yet, can trade wars ever be good? While the academic consensus holds they harm all participants, we argue that under certain circumstances they can produce positive outcomes. Rationale: “Self-management for people with epilepsy and a history of negative health events” (SMART) is an 8-week, remotely delivered, Epilepsy Self-Management (ESM) program. The ongoing EXPANDing self-management support in healthcare networks (EXPAND) initiative leveraged the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to identify SMART candidates, simplify recruitment, and reduce staff workload. Methods: This is an ongoing implementation effort at two Level 4 Epilepsy Centers (Iowa and Cincinnati) using the Epic EHR which follows 9326 People With Epilepsy (PWE). The EHR uses pre-visit screening to identify PWE with a recent seizure; barriers to medication adherence; depression symptoms; age 18–25; or residence in rural …

Real-time monitoring of slag chemistry is critical for optimizing Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steelmaking operations, where dynamic variations in slag composition directly influence slag foaming, refractory degradation, and thermal efficiency. Conventional techniques such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) are commonly used to analyze slag composition, but their offline nature and equipment constraints limit their applicability for online monitoring in harsh industrial environments. As the most well-resourced multilateral development bank, the World Bank is expected to play a central role in international climate finance (CF). However, systematic analysis of its CF projects remains limited, raising key questions such as what qualifies as a CF project, how the Paris Agreement has influenced the Bank’s CF, and whether CF projects are directed to areas of greatest need. Utilizing statistical analysis and natural language processing, this study offers a novel examination of the Bank’s CF projects. This third essay highlights the critical role of unifying visionary leadership in advancing Korea’s unification—a goal that cannot be achieved through policy frameworks or economic integration alone. While shared history, language, and culture provide the foundation for national unity, it is bold and ethical leadership that transforms these foundations into strategic action and reconciles entrenched ideological and institutional divides. A brief analysis of prominent figures in Korean history—Dangun, Kim Choonchu, Wang Geon, Yi Seong-gye, King Sejong, Yi Sun-sin, Kim Gu, Syngman Rhee, and Park Chung-hee—reveals recurring leadership traits such as moral authority, long-term vision, cultural stewardship, and inclusive governance. This paper describes the commitments and standards of practice required by those wishing to write from a faith-informed perspective – particularly, a Christian worldview frame. It highlights elements of Minkyu Lee’s award-winning animation Adam and Dog (2011) by way of illustration and argues a new role for faith-informed storytelling that correctly resists the temptation to preach especially in a world where any project deemed to promote an organized religious agenda, however simple or subtle, is apt to be ridiculed, marginalized, and ignored.

This chapter introduces the defining features, formal structure, and literary functions of haibun and tanka prose—two Japanese hybrid poetic forms that artfully merge lyrical narrative with short-form poetry. After tracing their classical origins and modern development in both Eastern and Western contexts, the chapter explores six thematic categories through original examples: travel, nature, memory, spiritual and philosophical reflection, social critique, and humor. These themes showcase the versatility and emotional range of the forms. This paper proposes a certainty-based methodology for implementing the Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) as defined in NIST SP 800-207 and NIST SP 1800-35 (NIST, 2020; NIST, 2025). By applying a probabilistic model that quantifies the certainty of security-related facts, the proposed approach enhances decision-making for access control and security policy enforcement. This method utilizes major security databases to assess and compute certainty of facts, thereby improving the resilience, adaptability, and accuracy of Zero Trust systems (Liu, Chandramouli, & Kuhn, 2020).

In 2018, the Education and Behavioral Sciences Section (EBSS) Social Work Committee (the committee) began drafting its companion document to the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. It responded to the ACRL Information Literacy Frameworks and Standards Committee’s charge to utilize the Framework in context with the education standards, goals, and competencies within their respective disciplines by highlighting synergies between the Framework and the accreditation standards associated with social work schools and programs in the United States. Good Vibrations: Folk Circles As Communication Environments, Missy Alexander
Proceedings of the New York State Communication Association
For over 25 years, I have participated in the creation of music and community through what are commonly called folk circles. Typically run as monthly gatherings, participants who range from complete beginners to seasoned pros, join together and share their favorite songs. These environments have clearly defined rules for participation (although rarely stated overtly), a strong ethos of mutual support, and frequently function as a path to friendships for people new to a community. This essay examines the folk circle as a communication environment and posits an explanation of why it is impervious to digital invasions.

Introduction Little is known about the impact of socioeconomic disadvantage on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other sexual and gender minority (LGBTQ+) older adults (≥50 years). The aim of this study is to determine whether the distribution of LGBTQ+ inpatient hospitalizations are related to structural socioeconomic factors. Methods A secondary analysis of retrospective electronic health record data for LGBTQ+ older adults hospitalized from 2018 to 2022 was conducted at one large health system. The average county area deprivation index where the patient resided was calculated. Results The analysis included 2270 LGBTQ+ older adult inpatient hospitalizations, with 1508 (66.4%) from …

A criminal conviction can prohibit a noncitizen from accessing certain forms of relief from deportation in immigration court. Notably, certain convictions may bar a noncitizen from asylum. But what happens when that conviction is based on the manifestation of mental health disabilities? This Article is the first to explore and critique the current immigration law framework for accounting for the criminalization of a noncitizen’s mental health disability, focusing primarily on the Attorney General’s recent decision In re B-Z-R- and the missed opportunity it represents to ensure that criminalized, disabled noncitizens are still able to access justice in the form of …
