This study focuses on developing and validating a Jordanian version of the WISC-4 intelligence scale in sign language for deaf children aged 6 to 16.11 years. The aim is to assess the psychometric properties, including validity and reliability, of this version to serve as a trustworthy tool for measuring the cognitive abilities of deaf children in Jordan using sign language, aligned with their linguistic and cultural characteristics. This study addresses literary and artistic property rights within the context of the ordinary and administrative judiciary, focusing on the legal framework for the deposit of these rights under the Jordanian and Egyptian Copyright and Neighboring Rights Protection Laws. The research findings indicate that legal deposit is an obligation of the rights holders of the work to submit a copy of the published work to a government authority. In Egypt, the rights holder is required to submit a licensing application to the General Department for the Control of Works, accompanied by certain data. This study aimed to explore the mechanisms of space formation in image theatre as applied by Arab directors, given that experiences in image theatre have significantly impacted the Arab theatre scene. The study investigates the formation of space through the experiences of two Arab directors. The first is the Tunisian artist Al-Habib Shbiel, who established triangular theatre in 1978. The second is the Iraqi Salah Al-Qasab, who has extensive experience in space theatre and developed a unique language of performance based on expanding the audience’s appreciation experience. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral counseling-based program in reducing future anxiety among female juvenile delinquents at the Rehabilitation Institution for Females in Riyadh. The participants consisted of 28 female juvenile delinquents, who were randomly divided into two groups: an experimental group of 14 and a control group of 14. The research population consisted of 1,339 male and female members of youth centers. The "Social Survey" methodology specifically, the descriptive and analytical approach—was employed, using a sample of 300 respondents drawn from members in the city of Amman. This quasi-experimental study investigated the effectiveness of an electronic collocation-based instructional program on Jordanian EFL tenth-grade students' word knowledge. Two sections of 25 students each, from a government school in Irbid, were randomly assigned as experimental and control groups. A word knowledge pre-test, which included a section measuring word meaning and another assessing word collocation, was administered to determine whether the two groups were homogeneous before implementing the program. Sacrificial shear keys in small-to-medium-span highway bridges mainly provide lateral support to the bridge superstructure under extreme events such as earthquake and/or tsunami. Steel slag with high aluminum (Al) content significantly delays the early hydration of cement when used as a supplementary cementitious material (SCM). To address this challenge, this study investigates the effects of gypsum (Gy) and sodium sulfate (SS) additions on the performance of cement pastes with 30 % high-Al ladle metallurgy furnace (LMF) slag. The mechanical properties, hydration kinetics, phase evolution, as well as the early-age hydration mechanism were explored. The results indicate that C3S hydration is substantially inhibited under high-Al conditions, mainly attributed to the rapid dissolution and reaction of reactive aluminates (particularly mayenite) in the slag. This paper investigates fuzzy q-symmetric variational problems with natural boundary conditions. Based on the relative distance measure fuzzy arithmetic and horizontal membership functions (HMFs), we propose novel concepts of differentiability and integrability for fuzzy functions on quantum geometric subsets of real numbers. Then, fundamental foundations of q-symmetric calculus of variations based on HMFs are provided. With the help of HMFs and granular q-symmetric differentiability, we derive necessary optimality conditions for fuzzy q-symmetric variational problems that depend on free endpoints. Moreover, sufficient conditions for minimizers of q-symmetric variational problems are obtained. Some numerical examples illustrating the proposed approach are presented.

A Travel Ban Is Nothing New: Moral Panic, Moral Entrepreneurs, And Immigration Policy, William F. Danaher, Debaleena Ghosh

The Journal of Public and Professional Sociology

The U.S. travel ban on Muslims was part of a historical pattern to curb immigration. In this paper, we take a historical-comparative approach to analyze two cases: The Chinese Exclusion Act and the Muslim Ban. We show how moral panics fueled by moral entrepreneurs led to immigration policies banning both groups and how historical events were important in the process. In the Chinese case, cultural stereotypes and competition with other immigrant groups led to the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act. In the Muslim case, 9/11 led moral entrepreneurs to associate all Muslims with terrorism, setting the stage for moral panic and …

One considers methodologies based on the Region Covariance Descriptor (RCD) and Topological Data Analysis (TDA) rooted in the simplicial as well as cubical persistent homologies. These methods provide statistical methods for data from populations of complex data objects that are elements of non-Euclidean spaces. Art-based interventions have gained increasing recognition as complementary strategies for substance use disorder (SUD) recovery and prevention, yet the field remains fragmented across clinical art therapy, community-based programs, and expressive digital practices. This article advances a unified neuroaesthetic framework that integrates sensory regulation, narrative integration, and interpersonal synchronization as the core mechanisms of healing. Drawing on recent U.S.-based empirical studies (post-2020), the paper synthesizes evidence from multiple modalities, including visual arts, music therapy, dance/movement practices, and digital storytelling, each demonstrating measurable effects on craving reduction, stress regulation, identity reconstruction, and social connection.
