Sequenced Vehicle Guidance For Traffic Congestion Mitigation, Gaurav Gupta

This disclosure describes systems and methods for mitigating vehicular gridlock, which can occur when circular dependencies between vehicles contribute to a traffic standstill. A disclosed system may utilize a coordination engine, for example a cloud-based service, that can receive real-time location data from client devices (e.g., smartphones, in-vehicle infotainment systems, wearable devices) associated with vehicles. The engine can construct a digital representation of the gridlocked area, which may include a dependency graph modeling the physical blocking relationships between vehicles. A gridlock resolution algorithm may then analyze the dependency graph to compute a sequence of vehicle movements designed to help clear …

Artists with motor disabilities can face significant challenges in expressing their creativity using traditional art tools and methods. This disclosure describes techniques that leverage generative AI (GenAI) with assistive input devices to make creative drawing and painting accessible to artists with disabilities, empowering them to translate their artistic vision into reality. Examples of assistive input devices include eye-trackers, game controllers, MIDI (musical instrument digital interface) controllers, etc. The techniques enable artists with motor disabilities to create art by interpreting their inputs and by generating corresponding visual outputs, fostering creative exploration and artistic expression. Farrowing is an energy-demanding period for prolific sows, with blood glucose levels serving as key indicators affecting farrowing outcomes and piglet survival. This study aimed to evaluate blood glucose levels in prolific sows prior to farrowing, assess the prevalence of hypoglycemia in late gestation, and investigate the relationship between blood glucose levels, parity, and litter size under tropical conditions. A total of 67 Danish Landrace × Yorkshire sows were grouped based on litter size (6–14, 15–17, or ≥18 piglets) and parity (2–4 and 5–6). The natural polysaccharide Arabic gum is a multifunctional, sustainable material used widely in wastewater treatment technology. Its active functional groups such as hydroxyl, carboxyl, and amino groups facilitate the efficient removal of heavy metals, dyes, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and persistent organic pollutants. The high surface area and active functional groups facilitate its modification to form various structures such as hydrogels, nanocomposites, or biochar integrated into hybrid adsorption–photocatalysis systems. Pathological anatomical images play a pivotal role in diagnosing diseases, notably breast cancer, which affects women globally. These images, obtained through biopsies or post-mortem examinations, are preserved to maintain their structural integrity. Software tools, like computer-aided diagnosis, aid doctors in early detection and treatment planning, contributing to reduced mortality rates. In this context, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have emerged as valuable tools for diagnosing benign and malignant breast cancers. The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has transformed healthcare delivery through real-time monitoring and data exchange. However, this integration of smart medical devices has also introduced critical cybersecurity threats, particularly spoofing attacks, which can compromise patient safety and system reliability. Conventional Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) often fail to address IoMT-specific challenges such as class imbalance, computational constraints, and the need for real-time adaptability. This study proposes a Capsule Network (CapsNet)-based IDS that leverages spatial dependency modeling and hierarchical feature relationships to detect spoofing attacks in IoMT environments. In 2021, the Ugandan government suspended the operations of 54 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), citing a range of administrative and legal justifications. This crackdown reflects a broader pattern emerging across the African continent, where over the past twenty years, more than twenty-four states have introduced restrictions on NGOs, particularly those engaged in human rights advocacy and governance. At the same time, the continent has witnessed a marked increase in Chinese investment, most notably through Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), launched in 2013 as a global infrastructure and development project. Architects form part of multidisciplinary teams in the construction of the built environment. Traditionally they have played a leading role within the construction process, often managing entire projects to completion. In recent years the composition of construction teams have evolved, leading to a perception that the architects leadership role has been diminished. Little is known about the boundary-spanning leadership required by architects, particularly in the light of the evolving roles. Through in-depth, semi-structured interviews, this research reduces this gap by exploring architect’s leadership practices in the context of changing boundaries within the construction team. High-latitude coral communities exist in variable environmental conditions and provide an opportunity to study the response of biological communities to changing environmental conditions. A 30-year monitoring dataset, initiated in 1993, was used to investigate how biological communities have changed in relation to environmental parameters over time. During the study period, major components of the sessile benthic community underwent periods of stability and significant phase shifts, where hydrocoral and sponge cover declined while macroalgal cover increased, with no recovery to observed historical states in more than a decade. Béla Bartók (1881-1945) cared deeply about authenticity in his work. He continually passed by derivative versions, and instead sought the oldest, earliest, most inaugural version of each folk tune to use as that launching point for his compositions. As he collected the Transylvanian folk tunes that would become his Romanian Folk Dances, he disregarded inconveniences like bad weather and exhausting travel, and he doggedly lugged with him a newly invented Edison phonograph. Aberrant levels or structures of RNA isoforms are a hallmark of many cancers, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), yet their role in AML chemoresistance remains unclear. We conducted a paired analysis of RNA isoform changes in patients with AML before therapy and at relapse after chemotherapy and identified intragenic DNA methylation at the proximal promoter of the transcription factor RUNX1, which resulted in elevated expression of the long-isoform RUNX1C through its alternative distal promoter. The unique N-terminal region of RUNX1C orchestrated an isoform-specific transcriptional program that promoted chemoresistance, with its direct target BTG2 playing a role in chemotherapy resistance. …

The State of Illinois Model Programs of Study Guides were developed in collaboration with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) through a process led and facilitated by Education Systems Center (EdSystems) at Northern Illinois University. The process included extensive research into labor market information and credential programs, as well as dialogue across secondary, postsecondary, and employer stakeholders. With the support of ICCB, EdSystems researched the utilization of the State of Illinois Model Programs of Study Guides: Culinary and Hospitality and Human and Public Service.

We present 115 compact radio point sources in three galaxies, NGC 5474, NGC 4631, and M51, taken in the most extended (A-)configuration of the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array at 10 GHz. Several of these compact radio point sources have diffuse counterparts identified in previous multiband studies of resolved radio continuum emission. We find compact counterparts to eight star forming regions, four anomalous microwave emission candidates, and one supernova remnant (SN 2011dh). Nine of the compact radio sources match X-ray counterparts, the majority of which are background galaxies. These AGN are all within the D25 (isophotal diameter) of the …
