Impact Of Restorative Yoga On Mental Health And Cognitive Function In Doctoral Physical Therapy Students, Carly Ritter

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students experience high academic stress, often impacting mental health. Restorative yoga may reduce stress, regulate the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis response, and support cognitive function. This study examined its effects on mental health and cognitive function in DPT students. Forty-four students were randomly assigned to restorative yoga or control groups in a double-blind design. Participants completed the Stroop Test, Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT), Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-8), and a demographic survey at baseline and after 6 weeks. Medication administration is an essential skill for nurses, but there are few opportunities for students to practice this skill to prepare for clinical practice. Literature shows that best practice to bridge the gap is simulation. The purpose of this quality improvement project is to implement an evidence-based simulation activity for students. The problem is that not all faculty are trained to teach via simulation. Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States (US). However, the trends and disparities in ACS mortality are not well understood. This study aimed to analyze the ACS mortality in the US from 1999 to 2020 using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Wide-Ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research database. The age-adjusted mortality rates (AAMR) due to ACS were calculated for each year from 1999 to 2020, stratified by sex, race, urbanization, and state. In this holdover proceeding; the landlord sought possession of an unregulated unit under the Good Cause Eviction Law (GCEL); claiming the family-use exception. The tenant moved to dismiss for failure to state facts. The Civil Court of the City of New York granted the tenant's motion; dismissing the petition without prejudice. The court held that the landlord's petition; which only recited statutory language without identifying the specific family member or alleging unavailability of alternative housing; failed to satisfy RPAPL § 741(4)'s requirement to state material facts; thus depriving the tenant of adequate notice to frame a defense.

Effective data use informs next steps in student learning and drives school improvement and systemic change, making it a critical factor in school success. Principals play a critical role in creating the conditions necessary for data use to thrive (Park & Datnow, 2009; Keuning et al., 2017; Schildkamp et al., 2019; DuFour et al., 2016; Albiladi et al., 2020). Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) is an ultra-rare genetic condition characterized by congenital malformations of the great toes and progressive heterotopic ossification (HO) in specific anatomic patterns. Present management summarized here is focused on early diagnosis, assiduous avoidance of injury and iatrogenic harm, symptomatic amelioration of painful flare-ups, and optimization of residual function. Twenty-one members of the International Clinical Council on FOP (ICC) and seven consultants from 15 countries, chosen for their clinical expertise in FOP, developed this summary statement. Further advances in therapeutics will be based on rigorous clinical trials to assess novel and emerging treatment and prevention strategies. A …

"Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that regulate the passage of ions across cell membranes, thereby shaping processes as diverse as neuronal signaling, muscle contraction, and hormone secretion. Channel activation is typically initiated by a stimulus such as voltage, ligand binding, or mechanical stress that induces conformational changes and opens the channel pore. Beyond activation, channels are subject to fine-tuned modulation by a wide range of endogenous and exogenous agents, from lipids and neurotransmitters to pharmacological drugs. Addressing employee turnover and boosting retention are major challenges for companies looking to achieve long-term success. Project managers are crucial in tackling this issue, as high turnover can undermine team performance and increase operational costs. Grounded in Herzberg’s two factor theory, the purpose of this qualitative case study was to explore strategies that some project managers use to reduce high employee turnover. The participants included six project managers in Mississippi who had an active role in using strategies to increase employee retention. Data were collected using semistructured interviews, organizational documentation, and research statistics. Thematic analysis identified six key strategies: (a) …

Purpose: Persistent ulnar-sided wrist pain, often because of triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) tears, can lead to instability of the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) and the ulnocarpal joint (UCJ). Although the TFCC's role in stabilizing the DRUJ is well established, its contribution to UCJ stability has gained increasing recognition. This study evaluates the clinical outcomes of combined Herbert Sling and suture repair for (UCJ) instability secondary to TFCC tears.

Methods: Eighty-eight patients (91 wrists) with TFCC tears and UCJ instability, unresponsive to nonsurgical management, underwent combined Herbert sling (HS) and suture repair. The HS technique stabilizes both the DRUJ and UCJ …

The interaction concerning rhizospheric fungi and plants is essential for enhancing plant resilience in the face of abiotic stress conditions. This study investigated the effects of the rhizospheric fungus Aspergillus terreus on maize (Zea mays L.) growth under both drought and waterlogging conditions. Our findings confirmed that inoculation with A. terreus mitigated the adverse effects of drought and waterlogging conditions on maize growth. Plants treated with Aspergillus terreus (A. terreus) exhibited enhanced root and shoot length, fresh and dry weight as well as enhanced chlorophyll content in plants compared to control, under stress-related conditions. In this study, deep learning (DL)-based models were developed for the classification of 5 fungal species from the Phallaceae family (Clathrus ruber, Colus hirudinosus, Mutinus caninus, Phallus impudicus, and Pseudocolus fusiformis). ConvNeXT achieved the highest performance with 98% accuracy, 98% precision, 98% recall, and 98% F1-score. EfficientNetB4 and Xception also performed well with 96% accuracy. In contrast, lighter models such as MobileNetV2 and MixNet S showed significantly lower accuracy (84% and 80%, respectively). Among the explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques, gradient-weighted class activation mapping (Grad-CAM) and Integrated Gradients showed that high-accuracy models focus more effectively on biologically meaningful regions. Green cities comprise a variety of habitats subject to different levels of anthropogenic pressure, ranging from completely unvegetated areas to vast green spaces such as linear parks. In this scenario, cities can support different ecological processes and ecosystem functions, which vary qualitatively and quantitatively between different habitat types along the urbanization gradient. Specifically, green spaces and ruderal plants can support pollination services in urban ecosystems, providing food resources (e.g., nectar, pollen, oil), reproduction supports (copulation sites), and nesting sites for pollinators.
