Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy

Background: The therapeutic effect of Blatta orientalis in asthma was found accidentally, but apart from the respiratory symptoms, not much is known about this as a drug through proving in Homoeopathy. Thus, homoeopathic drug proving was carried out, which is the first step in finding pathogenetic effect of the drug substance, for suggestive use in a clinical setting. Objective: To elicit the pathogenetic response of Blatta orientalis on healthy human provers. Methods: A multicentre, randomised, double blind, placebo-controlled trial was conducted at three centres under Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy. The trial was conducted on 47 apparently healthy provers …

Better Together: Rural Community Collaboration In North Carolina's Cape Fear Region, Luke Santore, Lillie Greiman, Rayna Sage Sep 2025

Better Together: Rural Community Collaboration In North Carolina's Cape Fear Region, Luke Santore, Lillie Greiman, Rayna Sage

Independent Living and Community Participation

The disAbility Resource Center of North Carolina (dRC) has served the Cape Fear region of NC since 2008. The dRC holds to the philosophy that every individual has the right to maximize their abilities, live as independently as possible, and participate fully in their community. In rural NC, the delivery of formal support requires informal trust across people, places, and organizations. In this sense, dRC is a trust broker, facilitating relationships between informal rural support networks and the network of public and nonprofit service providers in the area. dRC does this through being embedded in rural places, earning trust person …

The Living Dead On Mount Athos: Monastic Politics Of Escape, Patrick Reilly Sep 2025

The Living Dead On Mount Athos: Monastic Politics Of Escape, Patrick Reilly

Dissertations and Theses

The Monastic Republic of Mount Athos is a unique and confounding political entity - both Greek and multi-national, democratic and theocratic, autonomous and subject to the European Union - with more than a millennia of history and institutional memory. While Athos has been amply appreciated for its religious, historical and cultural significance, the political institutions which govern this community have been neglected in the modern era and merit greater attention. Similarly, while much of the recent English-language literature on the topic focuses on the near-death and miraculous resurrection of Mount Athos in the 20th century, this work also tends to …

“Sisters, Are You Running Out Of Menstrual Supplies??”: Exploring #Sistersfightpandemicwithease And Tactical Hashtag Feminism In The Covid-19 Crisis, Qingyue Sun

Interdisciplinary Studies

This article examines the hashtag feminism movement#SistersFightPandemicWithEase (#SFPWE) on Weibo, analyzing how it navigated state censorship, online misogyny, and platform governance during the Wuhan lockdown in China. Through qualitative analysis, I argue that #SFPWE diverges from traditional hashtag feminism, instead operating as a form of pragmatic feminism in crisis. The movement embodies what I term tactical feminist activism—an issue-based advocacy that prioritizes pragmatic problem-solving over structural critique. Its tactical nature lies in its ability to appear politically non-threatening and temporarily valuable to authorities. However, findings indicate that #SFPWE ultimately reinforced state legitimacy rather than challenging the structural gender inequalities underlying the …

2025 September 24 - Undergraduate Curriculum Council Minutes, Undergraduate Curriculum Council, East Tennessee State University

Undergraduate Curriculum Council Minutes

The Undergraduate Curriculum Council met on September 24, 2025, to review and approve multiple curriculum proposals across Early Childhood Education and Geosciences. The council approved the previous meeting’s minutes before considering two new Early Childhood Education courses—ECED 3125, designed to strengthen lesson‑planning preparation, and ECED 4160, a STEM‑focused course aligned with updated NAEYC standards. Members also approved a non‑substantive curriculum revision to the Early Care & Education concentration, adding the new courses, incorporating special education and advocacy offerings, eliminating advisor‑approved electives in favor of free electives to reduce CPOS issues, and removing the minor requirement. In Geosciences, three new courses—GEOS …

Swollen Lymph Node Metastasis In Gastric Cancer: A Forgotten Prognostic Signal In Need Of Clinical Action, Keykavous Parang, Amir Nasrolahi Shirazi Sep 2025

Swollen Lymph Node Metastasis In Gastric Cancer: A Forgotten Prognostic Signal In Need Of Clinical Action, Keykavous Parang, Amir Nasrolahi Shirazi

Pharmacy Faculty Articles and Research

Gastric cancer (GC) remains a leading cause of cancer mortality. While the extent of nodal involvement is a well-known prognostic factor, the specific entity of swollen lymph node metastasis (SLNM), bulky nodal tumor deposits detectable radiologically or pathologically, has received little attention in staging. Recent data from a study by Cui et al demonstrated that SLNM is an independent predictor of very poor survival in GC. Through robust data and rigorous propensity-matched analyses, SLNM emerged not merely as an anatomical finding but as an independent predictor of poor prognosis, even among patients undergoing curative resection. As precision oncology advances, the …

1246 Stratford Avenue Realty, Llc V. Matute

All Decisions

In this no-grounds holdover proceeding, the Civil Court of the City of New York, Bronx County, dismissed the landlord's petition after the tenant moved for dismissal for failure to comply with the recently enacted Good Cause Eviction Law (GCEL). The landlord's cross-motion to amend the petition to claim a "small landlord" exemption under RPL § 214[1] was denied. The court found the proposed amended petition palpably insufficient because it lacked the required ownership disclosure information to properly assert the exemption. Key Legal Points: GCEL applicability, pleading requirements for GCEL exemptions, and the standards for amending petitions.

Click-Ready Gold Nanoparticles From Aqueous Mechanochemistry: 2-Propynylamine As A Reducing Agent And Surface Ligand, Amber L. Garcia, Brian S. Mitchell, Amanda Reusch, Mark J. Fink, Juan P. Hinestroza, Yelin Ko, Julie P. Vanegas

Physics & Astronomy Faculty Publications

We report a rapid aqueous method for synthesizing monodisperse gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), employing 2-propynylamine as both an intrinsic reducing agent and a surface-stabilizing ligand. This self-mediated process—achieved in a single step—yields spherical AuNPs with an average diameter of 4.0 ± 1.0 nm and a well-defined localized surface plasmon resonance band centered at 520 nm. Acting as a bifunctional molecule, 2-propynylamine simultaneously reduces HAuCl4·3H2O to elemental gold and passivates the nanoparticle surface through coordination via the amine group, while preserving a terminal alkyne (–C≡CH) functionality. This reactive moiety remains exposed and chemically accessible, enabling post-synthetic modification through Cu(I)-catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition. Control …

Enhancing Patient Understanding And Reducing Readmissions: Implementing A Structured Discharge Teaching Protocol In A Medical-Surgical Unit, Jawany Joseph Sep 2025

Enhancing Patient Understanding And Reducing Readmissions: Implementing A Structured Discharge Teaching Protocol In A Medical-Surgical Unit, Jawany Joseph

DNP Projects

Background

Hospital readmissions remain a critical challenge in healthcare, especially in medical-surgical units. The high rates of hospital readmissions are often linked to inadequate patient understanding of discharge instructions. Many patients struggle with deciphering discharge plans, leading to medication errors, missed follow-up appointments, and poor self-care management. A structured discharge teaching protocol has the potential to enhance patient comprehension, improve adherence to port-discharge care, and reduce readmission rates.

Project Goals

This project aimed to improve understanding of discharge instructions, reduce hospital readmissions, and enhance patient satisfaction with the discharge process. Specific objectives included increasing patient comprehension from 65% to 90% …
