Background: Undifferentiated Embryonal Sarcoma of liver (UESL) is a rare malignancy of liver originating from primary mesenchymal tissue with overall poor prognosis. Around 220 pediatric cases of UESL have been reported in the literature. The lack of characteristic clinical manifestations, laboratory tests and imaging studies pose a diagnostic challenge and the preoperative misdiagnosis rate is high. Historically, treatment was limited to surgical resection with poor survival rate. In recent times, combination of chemotherapy and surgical resection has improved survival.

This study examines early signals of the EU CBAM's impact on iron and steel exporters from India by integrating firm-level export data with third-party estimates of manufacturers' emissions and production. Changes in trade flows and pricing during the CBAM reporting phase indicate that high-emission-intensity firms have decreased both their average unit prices and shipment sizes to the EU, while low-emission-intensity firms have not changed shipment behavior and may have benefited from increasing prices. Such supply chain adjustments are in line with EU policy intentions, creating opportunities for low-emission producers while reducing reliance on high-emission suppliers to the EU.

Discretionary lane-changing behavior is one of the most common highway operations, which seriously affects traffic efficiency and safety. Nowadays, connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) are advancing rapidly, though not yet fully widespread. As a result, a mixed traffic environment with traditional human-driven vehicles (HDVs) and CAVs will persist for the foreseeable future. This paper discusses the development and application of a digital twin (DT) for urban resilience, focusing on an integrated platform for real-time fire and smoke. The proposed platform, FireCom, adapts DT concepts for the unique challenges of urban fire management, which differ significantly from regional wildfire systems. Through an exploratory case study in Austin, Texas, in the United States, this research bridges the theoretical foundations of 3D DT with their practical application in fire and smoke management. The mechanisms for the age-related increase in fatigability of the elbow flexor muscles during dynamic contractions are unknown. The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of supraspinal and contractile mechanisms for the age-related increase in fatigability of the elbow flexor muscles. Twenty-eight young (23.2 ± 2.6 years; 14 females) and 32 older adults (72.6 ± 5.6 years; 15 females) performed 80 maximal velocity contractions at 20% of maximal isometric strength. Voluntary activation and muscle contractile properties were assessed before and immediately following the fatiguing exercise using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and electrical stimulation. The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). In recent years The Anchor moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. The Anchor is now published in print twice per academic semester. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

This article explores how 3D printing, particularly through the free and widely used slicing program Cura, can support the Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) instructional model in alignment with Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) mathematics standards. Through the CRA lens, students engage with tangible models, modify drawings and diagrams, and connect these experiences to symbols and formulas through a cyclical process. Cura’s design and printing processes invite authentic mathematical reasoning about geometry, measurement, and proportionality. Real-world constraints, such as infill density and support structures, create opportunities for students to explore relationships among shape, size, and resource optimization. In 2022, Georgia agencies added new financial literacy requirements for both high school students and teacher qualifications to enhance financial literacy across the state. In response, a group of faculty members in an education preparation program acquired funding and developed a financial literacy curriculum for secondary preservice teachers. The OER curriculum was implemented in a senior-level capstone course. This manuscript presents a pilot study of the curriculum, including data collection and analysis for the project.

This study explores how Preservice Teachers’ (PSTs’) attendance at a professional mathematics teaching conference influences their development as future teachers. Fourteen University PSTs attended the Georgia Mathematics Conference (GMC), a two-and-a-half-day teaching conference for K–16 mathematics teachers and administrators. Using constant comparative analysis to code qualitative data, we analyzed responses from one question on tool usage in pre- and post- conference surveys. Initial findings indicate that conference attendance increased PSTs' commitment to ongoing professional development, while simultaneously helping them develop more nuanced understandings of the complexity of teaching.

Readers are all too aware of the wrenching developments: funding cuts, visa restrictions, pauses in student enrolment processes. These concerns are not confined to US universities only. From Australia to the United Kingdom to South Korea to the Global South, university leaders face parallel strains — affordability, governance, and relevance — and feel the weight of a future under siege.

In a commentary, SMU President Professor Lily Kong called for a widened definition of sustainability in city-making. Mexican-origin families often face economic hardship due to systemic oppression, increasing the likelihood of adolescent marijuana use. While the family stress model provides insight into the mechanism of the association between family economic hardship and adolescent marijuana use, resilience factors are relatively unknown. The present study uses a three-wave longitudinal data set of Mexican immigrant families in the United States (Wave 1—adolescents: Mage = 12.29, SD = 0.93; mothers: Mage = 38.57, SD = 5.71) to investigate the mechanism underlying the association between family income and adolescents’ likelihood of marijuana use, guided by the family stress model. Every social situation that people encounter in their daily lives comes with a set of unwritten rules about what behavior is considered appropriate or inappropriate. These everyday norms can vary across societies: some societies may have more permissive norms in general or for certain behaviors, or for certain behaviors in specific situations. In a preregistered survey of 25,422 participants across 90 societies, we map societal differences in 150 everyday norms and show that they can be explained by how societies prioritize individualizing moral foundations such as care and liberty versus binding moral foundations such as purity. This Note explores the fallout of the Harrington v. Purdue Pharma decision and the uncertainty it lends to the future of bankruptcy plans and third-party releases. Specifically, it proposes potential congressional solutions that can pave a path forward for parties to seek relief for the harms they have suffered under the actions of corporations and their leaders. The current legal regime governing domestic military deployments was, largely, born of the Civil War. While conflict was ongoing, Congress enacted what are now a pair of statutes criminalizing military interference with federal elections. And as a coda to Reconstruction, Congress criminalized using the military as a civilian law enforcement force. Over the past 160 years, successive Congresses and Presidents have steadily chipped away at these crucial criminal-law protections. In 2024, the Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. United States further undermined the limitations that remained.

Introduction: Ambient artificial intelligence (AAI) is increasingly being integrated into clinical workflows to address the documentation burden contributing to clinician burnout. AAI systems use automatic speech recognition and natural language processing to capture real-time clinician–patient dialogue and generate structured documentation within the electronic health record. Methods: This review examines AAI’s technical foundations, clinical applications, and implementation considerations in oncology practice. We describe how current AAI tools extract, classify, and populate relevant clinical content, such as the history of present illness, physical examination findings, and assessment and plan, while adhering to established US coding standards (e.g., International Classification of Diseases [ICD-10]). …

As farmland ownership changes and agriculture and irrigation technologies become more affordable the amount of irrigated hay production has increased. While much of the agronomic management does not differ between rain-fed and irrigated environments, nutrient use and uptake dynamics may. Climate change is altering precipitation patterns worldwide, yielding changes in streamflow and water availability. Increases in storm frequency and intensity, as well as prolonged droughts, may alter the timing and magnitude of flow and nutrient delivery to downstream systems, many of which serve as key drinking water resources. Thus, we must understand long-term changes in streamflow to protect drinking water supplies. Here, we document changes in streamflow delivery to Beaver Lake Reservoir, the key drinking water source in rapidly urbanising Northwest Arkansas. The graduation requirements of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy are established by the IMSA Board of Trustees. Each semester students must take a minimum of five academic courses (2.5 credits) for a letter grade (not Pass/Fail) not including SIR, Internship, Credentials and Independent Study. Students may enroll in a maximum of seven courses each semester including academic courses, SIR, Internship, Credentials, and Independent Study. The College and Academic Counselor approves enrollment for students in all courses and experiences. Academic courses must be taken for a grade in order to count towards graduation credit.
