The dissertation is a study of how stakeholders diffuse innovation in port decarbonization strategies through a case study approach, with emphasis on the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) relating to the technical and operational measures in the developing regions. Port, being a critical hub in global supply chains, have to manage the increasing pressure of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in alignment with International Maritime Organization (IMO) 2023 GHG strategy as well as the Paris Agreement. Historical migration from ancestral territories in La Araucanía has brought a large portion of the Mapuche population to Santiago, where La Pintana now hosts one of the city’s most concentrated Indigenous communities. These movements, shaped by discrimination, loss of language, and cultural displacement, have had lasting effects on mental health and identity for Mapuche residents living in an urban environment. This study asks how intercultural perspectives of healthcare influence the ways Mapuche and non-Mapuche populations navigate mental health in La Pintana. Among the most salient and intractable challenges facing labor-intensive western agriculture is the rapidly rising cost of labor, driven primarily by reduced availability of workers. Unlike field grains, oilseeds, and cotton, producers of fresh fruit and vegetables still rely extensively on hired manual labor to carry out multiple tasks, particularly harvesting. Nearly one third of total U.S. agricultural labor expenses occur in California alone, a state dominated by fruit, vegetable and horticultural (FVH) crops (Win, Rutledge, and Maredia, 2024). 嶺南學報 Lingnan Journal of Chinese Studies

東周器銘的仿古是立足新的時代語境而模仿古代文辭的一種書寫方式，是在純文本寫作日益佔據主導優勢的情況下，依然仿效“記録一修改”模式的某些特徵的做法。具體而言，仿古主要包括擬辭和擬篇兩個層面。前者是從古老的“詩”“書”類文獻和舊器銘文中採擇詞彙、語法對新文本進行“作舊”處理。後者是在西周器銘常見類型，如册命、訓誥等基本消隱的情況下，重又參照舊文本改寫事實以製作同類銘文。這造就了東周銘體獨特的演變節奏。仿古的主要目的在於利用銘體穩定的文本特性和禮制屬性以彰顯作器者的權力合法性。其影響經由傳世東周文獻的傳導，開啓了秦漢以後長期追求簡古弘深的銘體創作，對銘體傳统的塑造作用是關鍵的。其手法與原因，一定程度上又含有超出東周時代的啓發價值，具有特殊的文體學意義。

The Eastern Zhou Dynasty’s imitation of ancient bronze inscriptions was a way of writing that imitated the ancient languages based on a new era context. It was a practice that disregarded the increasing dominance of pure text writing and imitated features of the “record-modify” mode. It mainly included two levels of practical techniques: imitation of words and imitation of texts. The former involved selecting vocabulary and grammar from documents related to Shi and Shu, as well as inscriptions on old bronzes, to “nake old” the new texts. Peru: Indigenous Peoples and Globalization

This research examines how tourism has transformed the lives of Indigenous women in Huilloc, Peru, specifically through the sale of woven textiles. Through a documentary, the study analyzes how the commercialization of their crafts has expanded the economic opportunities available to the weavers, supporting their financial autonomy. It also explores women’s empowerment, including new gender dynamics, greater independence within the household, and increased recognition from the community. The use of documentary film allows the women's voices to be amplified in their own language and cultural context, reinforcing their capacity and autonomy to narrate their stories from their own perspective.

Quechua is a socially minority language in Perú due to a complex sociopolitical history. With the increase of pride in indigeneity that has characterized recent decades, efforts to revitalize the language have gained increased attention, generating tension between the rural and urban and between peasants and elites. Differing conceptualizations of Quechua directly shape the strategies used for its revalorization; in this essay, I examine oral tradition and written Quechua as two interwoven facets in revitalizing the language. This report is based on fieldwork carried out in Chinchero (Cusco, Peru) in November 2025 and examines the participation of women weavers in the local tourism economy and its relationship to municipal economic policy. It shows how Indigenous weavers, who are central to the district’s tourism, remain in a marginal position within formal spaces of economic decision-making. Transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) populations experience significant health disparities, particularly in regards to mental health outcomes and quality of life. This case study employs a qualitative approach to elucidate barriers and enablers to TGD health and gender-affirming care in Switzerland. Evidence collected from semi-structured interviews with health professionals working with Swiss TGD communities provides a thorough understanding of contemporary resources and obstacles regarding gender-affirming treatment. This research seeks to contribute to scholarship by synthesizing health literature with critical queer theory. Maternal nutrition is recognized as one of the most significant and modifiable determinants of persistent inequities in maternal and neonatal health. In Nepal, what women are able to eat and how they experience pregnancy are all shaped by a complex interplay of cultural beliefs, gendered expectations, household dynamics, structural barriers, and nutrition intervention efforts. This study examines these intersecting factors through ethnographic accounts, peer-reviewed scientific literature, expert interviews, and an analysis of current interventions operating across different levels. Background

People with post-stroke aphasia are often excluded from shaping the research meant to support their recovery. Communication barriers, research norms, and traditional outcome frameworks contribute to a lack of meaningful involvement, particularly in the identification of patient-centered outcomes. While participatory models in aphasia research are emerging, few examples describe how individuals with communication disabilities can lead or co-create research priorities.

樊晃《杜工部小集序》談到杜甫晚年“常蓄東遊之志”。從這一記載入手並對照杜甫詩歌可以發現，杜甫晚年確實有再次東遊吳越的計劃。吳越自六朝以來便是神仙思想盛行之地，也成爲道教“同天福地”聚集的區域。杜甫之所以對吳越念念不忘者，除了因有親友在此之外，更爲重要的是受了神仙思想的指引。除了“東遊”杜甫晚年也表達過“南征/南遊”的意圖。“東遊”的目的地是吳越，而“南征”的目的地是武陵桃源（唐朗州，今湖南常德）乃至嶺南。二者雖然目的地不同，但同樣都是爲了求仙問道。江南乃至嶺南一帶，在六朝以來“洞天福地”的道教地理中佔據了重要位置，吸引了包括杜甫在内的道教信徒前來修仙朝聖。歷來讀者更多注意到杜甫的家國情懷，却忽視了神仙思想對杜甫的强大吸引力。運用傳記地理學的方法，可以幫助我們更好地理解杜甫晚年的心跡與行乘，加深對杜甫晚年詩歌的理解。

It can be seen from this account and Du Fu’s poetry that in his later years, Du Fu did have a plan to travel east to Wu-Yueh (presently Zhejiang and Southern Jiangsu province) again. Rapid global development has led to increased security challenges, particularly regarding drug-related crimes. This study examines the role of strategic leadership in security media to enhance community security, focusing on drug abuse in Oman. Despite ongoing efforts to combat drug-related offenses, these crimes remain a significant threat to societal stability. The qualitative research involved in-depth interviews with 14 decision-makers, including 7 experts from Oman’s security media, police, and related institutions. It explores the effectiveness of security media campaigns in raising awareness and reducing drug use. This study examines migration of people and international trade in Germany and Austria between 2000 and 2024. Both countries saw sharp rises in immigrant populations, with foreign-born residents reaching 18 percent in Germany and 22 percent in Austria, while their exports grew to record levels. The research explores whether human capital migration like workers bringing skills, education, and networks has complemented or substituted trade. Evidence shows migration often reduces barriers to commerce by creating trust, demand for home-country goods, and professional connections. Skilled workers in high-tech industries further boost export capacity. Contrary to fears that migrants might weaken competitiveness, the …

This thesis seeks to examine the so-called Vienna Diptych (1478/1479) by Hugo van der Goes. The two panels of the diptych have been displayed together since the 19th century, yet difficulties in provenance and the dating of the artist’s oeuvre have resulted in the continued questioning of its intended creation as a single campaign. This research seeks to assert the diptych’s thematic unity through a concentrated analysis of its leading female figures, a vantage point that has not yet been fully addressed in the literature. This thesis examines the interpretations of Lintels 23, 24, and 25 from Yachilán, Drawing 18 from Naj Tunich, and Stela H from Copán, with a specific focus on third gender expression. These artworks depict figures that blend masculine and feminine attributes, from costuming to actions, to present intentionally ambiguous representations of the body that all ancient Maya people would have understood. Third gender expression is defined through the blending of masculine and feminine signifiers. It is a gender identity for people who do not identify as male or female, but rather as neither, both, or a combination of male and …

This project investigates how design transparency and player interaction mechanics can enhance emotional connection and strategic depth in competitive digital card game environments. Draft Card Battler transforms traditional sequential turn-based Trading Card Game (TCG) gameplay into a structured round-based system featuring asymmetric card-play patterns (1-2-2-1) and simultaneous combat resolution. The selfish genetic element Spore killer-3 (Sk-3) is found in some Neurospora fungi. Sk-3 is considered selfish because it has evolved the capacity to bias its transmission to the next generation through spore killing. The mechanism of spore killing requires at least two genes, a gene that produces a resistance protein (an antidote) and a gene that produces a killer protein (a poison). The Sk-3 genetic element is millions of base pairs long and contains hundreds of genes. Although the antidote gene has been identified, the identity of the poison gene has remained elusive.
