Mohamed, provides a powerful gateway for teachers to foster empathy and understanding with K12 students. This article explores how graphic novels combine visual storytelling with text to engage learners of all ages in discussions about refugee experiences. By integrating reflective activities and critical literacy strategies adaptable across grade levels, educators can use graphic novels to build cultural awareness, deepen comprehension, and inspire students to connect with global issues meaningfully. The article offers grade-specific implementation strategies that can be scaled appropriately for elementary, middle, and high school contexts.

Present disclosure provides techniques for asynchronous reliable transmission (ART) protocol for Application-to-Application messages. A communication protocol is designed to support communication between two devices asynchronously over channels that have limitations to facilitate asynchronous communication and have limited bandwidth. The ART protocol solves communication challenges that arise when transmitting data over channels with such limitations. The ART protocol has the provision to expand for future use cases such as encryption. Further, the ART Protocol provides mechanisms for data packet fragmentation, allowing larger packets to be transmitted over channels with limited bandwidth.

This document introduces a novel method for integrating heatsink mechanical supports into large ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) designs in a way that does not obstruct vertical power delivery. Vertical power delivery is a method that feeds current directly into the underside of the ASIC through vias. Traditional heatsink support structures use drawbars peripheral to the ASIC, distant from the ASIC’s center. The location of these drawbars necessitates the use of large backing plates, but these large backing plates interfere with vertical power delivery. This study examines the impact of toxic leadership on employee silence in public healthcare institutions within Sukkur Division, Sindh, Pakistan. Although prior studies have mostly focused on corporate settings, little is known about how toxic leadership shapes employee silence in public healthcare systems of developing countries. This study proposes emotional exhaustion as the mediating variable and cultural value as a moderating variable for the indirect effect. Production and consumption of cigarettes in Indonesia tend to increase. Increasing production has a positive impact on state revenue. However, the increasing consumption of cigarettes harms public health. The government implemented a policy of cigarette excise tax to control cigarette consumption. This study aims to analyze the impact of increasing the cigarette tax on the economic performance of the cigarette industry. Using Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS) estimation methods shows that cigarette production is influenced by its consumption. The existing literature on digital government lacks a rigorous empirical investigation into advanced computing cyberinfrastructure for scientific innovation. Distributed computing cyberinfrastructures are an increasingly salient form of digital platform government enabling service production and delivery. Government cyberinfrastructure programs for scientific innovation advance national competitiveness. This study draws from the literature on digital government, cyberinfrastructure, and socio-materiality to develop hypotheses on the effectiveness of cyberinfrastructure as a platform government. Climate change and the global energy crisis have led to an increasing need for greenhouse gas remediation and clean energy sources. The electrochemical CO₂ reduction reaction (CO₂RR) is a promising solution for both issues as it harvests waste CO₂ and chemically reduces it to more useful forms. However, the high overpotential required for the reaction makes it electrochemically unfavorable. Large language models (LLMs) can potentially help with verification using proof assistants by automating proofs. However, it is unclear how effective LLMs are in this task. In this paper, we perform a case study based on two mature Rocq projects: the hs-to-coq tool and Verdi. We evaluate the effectiveness of LLMs in generating proofs by both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Our study finds that: (1) external dependencies and context in the same source file can significantly help proof generation; (2) LLMs perform great on small proofs but can also generate large proofs; (3) LLMs perform differently on different verification projects; …

The transition from foster care to independent living represents a critical life stage for youth, especially those aged 18–24, who face numerous challenges in accessing and utilizing community resources. In the United States, nearly 391,000 children are in foster care, with many experiencing negative outcomes upon exiting the system, such as homelessness, unemployment, and incarceration. This qualitative phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of discharged foster care youth, focusing on their ability to access and utilize available resources, including education, employment, healthcare, and mental health services. Optimizing SmCo(5-)based nanocomposites for high-temperature magnetic applications requires balancing coercivity and saturation magnetization, properties often compromised by grain coarsening, oxidation, and secondary phase formation during conventional sintering. This study investigates the microstructural evolution and magnetic properties of SmCo5 and SmCo5-Fe composites processed via high-energy ball milling followed by spark plasma sintering at 900 degrees C and 1000 degrees C, a route designed to retain the nanostructure while enabling rapid densification compared to conventional sintering. Emeritus Professor Donald Paul Weeks was awarded the ORCA in 2014, a year before he retired. He grew up in a small farm south of Terre Haute, Indiana. In his youth, he participated in 4-H programs that must have sparked an interest in science because he earned his bachelor's degree from Purdue University in 1963. Purdue is about 90 miles north of Terre Haute. Don's doctoral work was at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana for a project about protein synthesis during maize germination. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide, thus, there is an urgent need to develop more effective therapeutic options for this dismal condition. Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with improved response to immune checkpoint blockade in HCC, but their low abundance in most cases limits their therapeutic efficacy. Here, we demonstrate, in mice, that low-dose intratumoral immunovirotherapy with the trivalent measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine (MMR) induces superior tumor-growth delay and extended host survival compared to individually administered vaccines for measles, mumps, or rubella viruses. The Last Werewolf is an interactive narrative game exploring lived experiences of bipolar disorder through metaphor and emotional design. Drawing on the creator’s personal perspective, the game uses cyclical transformation as a lens for understanding mood episodes and identity fragmentation. The showcase presentation examined how mechanics and narrative structure were used to embody bipolar experiences, aiming to foster empathy and nuanced mental health representation in games. By integrating creative practice with research, The Last Werewolf demonstrates how independent games can meaningfully communicate complex psychological realities through interactive storytelling.

The current approaches for crash frequency and severity prediction in the Highway Safety Manual (HSM) do not employ vehicle mix information. In this research effort, we build advanced alternatives to HSM methods while incorporating vehicle mix information. Two model systems—(a) multivariate Poisson-lognormal model and (b) negative binomial-ordered probit fractional split model—are estimated by incorporating vehicle mix variables. The developed model systems can also capture the influence of observed and unobserved heterogeneity of different independent variables including vehicle mix variables.
