Narrative identities are stories that can help students make sense of their prior learning experiences. This research investigates consumer interactions with AI-powered shopping assistance in skincare retailing. Skincare presents a compelling context where vast product selections intersect with consumers' diMiculty assessing skin conditions. AI technology can enhance decision quality through instant skin diagnosis and recommendations, but it requires understanding how consumers respond to such technology. Our multi-method approach combines focus groups, laboratory experiments, and field experiments using an AI-powered skin analysis system. Focus groups reveal positive responses to the technology's detailed diagnoses, with participants showing heightened sensitivity to visual information and social comparative metrics.

Elaeagnus pungens Thunb is a significant source of flavonoids with biological function. This study aims to develop orthogonal tests and alkali alcohol extraction methods for extracting flavonoids from leaves of E. pungens. The levels of factors in the orthogonal test were determined by pre-experiment, and the physiological efficacy was verified by the in vivo test. The results indicated that the optimal extraction yield was 4.07% when the solid-to-liquid ratio was 1:40, the concentration of ethanol was 60%, the extraction temperature was 80℃, and the extraction time was five h. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a growing trend in the fields of marketing and advertising. In particular, AI-generated advertising content is on the rise. But how do consumers feel about this? Four mock-up AI advertisements were created for the following categories: fast food, hand lotion, soft drinks, and athletic shoes. A survey capturing attitudes was completed by 168 participants. Both quantitative and qualitative data reveal negative attitudes towards AI-generated advertising content, regardless of product category. This pattern exposes an issue for practitioners. They want to utilize this new technology; however, their audience is resistant to it. Implications and suggestions are discussed.

Like other accounting programs, the Accounting program at the University of Nebraska at Kearney has experienced declining enrollments. Faculty addressed this problem by creating the Accounting Program Partners.

The Program Partners campaign benefits the partners and the Accounting program. The firm pays $2,500 to be a partner. Benefits include access to students through Beta Alpha Psi, inclusion in visits students make to firms, etc. One half of the money raised is used for scholarships that target business students without an emphasis and campuswide undecided students.

Number of majors in our accounting program has increased 40% in two years.

Due to the Model Penal Code’s stringent “knowledge” requirement for vicarious criminal liability, corporate executives, directors, and high managerial agents are inadvertently incentivized to stay uninformed of their subordinates’ actions as a means of safeguarding their employers. This not only leads to a deficiency in oversight, permitting potential criminal activities to go unchecked within corporations, but also establishes a significant shield against corporate criminal liability, given the challenges in proving such knowledge. Over the past twenty years, police departments across the country have instated LGBTQ+ liaisons in response to overwhelming rates of violence against the transgender and gender non-conforming community. Despite the creation of this position, rates of transgender victimization remain the same, with transgender people still being 2.5 times more likely to experience violence than a cisgender person. At-lanta Police Department’s LGBTQ+ liaison has existed since 2004, however, in this time, nearly twenty brutal mur-ders of transgender and gender non-conforming individuals have been reported in Atlanta, with three high-profile kill-ings occurring in 2023 alone. Felon voting rights are under attack in the United States. State Attorneys’ General are using overbroad “voter fraud” statutes to prosecute formerly incarcerated persons voting or attempting to vote—even when done mistakenly. Worse, their public-facing rationale, voter fraud, has been repeatedly discredited. Some combination of Congress, the courts, and the people must act to prevent any such future prosecutions from occurring, particularly where it is shown that there was no intent to violate the law. Some have argued for more localized solutions like lobbying state legislators to change the law. But those efforts have, except in rare circumstances, failed.

This article is a study of Reinhold Niebuhr’s Christian Realism, a progressive school of social ethics rooted in Christian theology, and its critical evaluation of American mass incarceration. Christian Realism seeks justice in society under law, formed by love as its fundamental organizing principle. It acknowledges a world with endemic structural injustices and social immorality, but it finds temperate hope in the human potential for love, redemption, and generosity.
