In 1987, Luna Luna, a fairground/immersive art installation, opened in Hamburg, Germany. A decades-long project in the making, it was conceived and realized by André Heller, a Vienna-based avant-garde artist, musician, film-maker, and author favoring multimedia work including circuses, parades, variety shows, firework displays and poetic gardens. Over the course of three months, about 300,000 attendees traversed Heller’s Luna Luna’s exuberant space with performances, music, and rides on art works that took the form of Ferris wheels, carousals, infinity mirror rooms, puppet shows and other theatrics. Histories of the origins of photography are dominated by men, but the lesser-known contributions of women, such as the British chemist Elizabeth Fulhame, were fundamental to its success. Fulhame’s eighteenth-century chemical experiments directly contributed to the birth of photography, however, she is either totally obscured, or only briefly footnoted, in foundational texts on the history of photography. Her obscuration is heightened by the complete absence of any surviving images of her - she is, quite literally, invisible within a medium whose history privileges the visible.

Over the last decade, we have witnessed the ascendancy, consolidation and mobilization of far-right movements around the world – not least in Germany. The Vietnamese-German artist Sung Tieu lives there and produces mixed-media work on recent histories of state violence, racism, migration and surveillance. In her solo show 1992, 2025 at the KW (Kunst Werke) Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin, Tieu expanded on her previous projects about the 1980 labor recruitment agreement between the German Democratic Republic (GDR) and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam that resulted in nearly 70,000 Vietnamese workers relocating to Germany. Tianeptine, an atypical antidepressant prescribed in several countries, is not approved for medical use in the United States. Despite this, it is widely available as an unregulated supplement, popularly known as "gas station heroin," contributing to a growing public health crisis characterized by dependence, severe withdrawal, and overdose. We present the case of a 22-year-old male with major depressive disorder who developed severe tianeptine use disorder. He presented with worsening depression and suicidal ideation, with his psychiatric symptoms substantially exacerbated by cycles of intoxication and withdrawal. The patient declined referral to medication-assisted treatment, highlighting ongoing barriers to care. This case …

OBJECTIVE: Explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on pediatric acute mastoiditis (AM).

DATA SOURCES: CINAHL, Cochrane Library, PubMed, Scopus.

METHODS: Literature was searched from 2014 to 2025 for articles reporting AM in children. Specific outcomes included clinical presentation, bacterial epidemiology, complications, and management. Primary outcome measures included continuous measures (mean), proportions (%), mean difference (Δ), and relative risk (RR) with 95 % confidence intervals (CI).

RESULTS: There were seven included studies (N = 1001 children) with 632 patients in the pre-COVID cohort and 369 in the COVID-era cohort. There was a significant difference in the proportion of intracranial complications …

A new method for generating medium and long-term photovoltaic output scenarios based on generative adversarial networks is proposed to address the problem of high variable dimensions in generating annual photovoltaic output sequence scenarios.Firstly，the fuzzy C-means clustering （FCM） algorithm is used to divide daily meteorological states，and the temporal nature of daily meteorological information is simulated based on generative adversarial networks.Then，a state division network is introduced，and a state generative adversarial network is constructed to simulate the distribution pattern of meteorological states during the week.Photovoltaic output sequence scenarios are generated by layering from weekly and daily scales.Finally，historical meteorological and photovoltaic output data from …

Digital Storytelling: A Group Experience with Adult Survivors of Trauma is a phenomenological and art-based inquiry with adults (N = 7) who attended a hybrid, Zoom and in-person five-week digital storytelling workshop in two separate groups. Group One (n = 5) was conducted three months prior to Group Two (n = 2). The landmark discovery that neutrinos have mass and can change type (or flavour) as they propagate—a process called neutrino oscillation^1,2,3,4,5,6—has opened up a rich array of theoretical and experimental questions being actively pursued today. Neutrino oscillation remains the most powerful experimental tool for addressing many of these questions, including whether neutrinos violate charge-parity (CP) symmetry, which has possible connections to the unexplained preponderance of matter over antimatter in the Universe^7,8,9,10,11. Smoke plume dynamics involve various smoke processes and mechanics in the atmosphere and provide the scientific foundation for the development of tools to simulate and predict smoke and its environmental and human impacts. The reniform nematode (Rotylenchulus reniformis) is an emerging plant-parasitic threat to sweetpotato production. Dissimilar from the galling caused by root-knot nematode infections, infections from the reniform nematode occur without visible damage to the root system. In the southern United States, heavily infested sweetpotato fields can lose up to 40% of their total yield. Growers rely heavily on fumigants and nematicides which provide inconsistent control and are not sustainable in the long-term. Past research has been more focused on the efficacy of chemicals than in the identification of host resistance or tolerance in sweetpotato germplasm. This study evaluated past …

The present study examined how identity styles and romantic attachment dimensions predict internalizing problems among 456 college students. Results indicated that the diffuse-avoidant identity style was positively associated with depressive symptoms, whereas the normative identity style was negatively related to generalized anxiety. Anxious attachment was positively related to both internalizing problems, and avoidant attachment was related positively only to depressive symptoms. Interaction results revealed that a stronger diffuse-avoidant identity style strengthened the relationship between anxious attachment and depressive symptoms. A stronger informational identity style led to a significant association between the avoidant dimension and both internalizing behaviors. Lastly, for those …

PURPOSE: Radiation Oncology departments impacted by recent cyberattacks were unable to access data backups or their Record and Verify (R&V) system and therefore faced challenges to resume patient treatments in a timely manner. We present a novel software tool that backs-up critical radiotherapy treatment information and displays essential information for on-treatment patients in an intuitive and accessible dashboard allowing clinics to continue radiotherapy treatments. The purpose of this report is to describe implementation details, challenges, and share open-source code to facilitate radiation oncology clinics' efforts to develop tools to improve cyberattack resiliency.

Background: Lower extremity amputations (LEAs) are medically, psychologically, and functionally devastating. The objective of our study was to evaluate region- and sex-specific differences of unilateral and bilateral LEAs across the United States (US) from 1990 to 2019.

Methods: The Global Burden of Disease database was used to analyze years lived with disability (YLDs), prevalence, and incidence rates per 100,000 people for LEAs in the US from 1990 to 2019. Data were stratified into four US Census Bureau-defined regions: Northeast, Midwest, South, and West. Differences between regions and sexes were assessed, with statistical significance defined as p < 0.05.

The Essentials for nursing education prioritize improving students’ health and resilience. In this presentation, we describe how nursing students used the REST mnemonic to create self-care plans. At the end of the semester, students reported increased engagement in self-care activities and a new awareness of the need for self-care.

The world of college sports is undergoing a major transformation with the introduction of new rules governing Name, Image, and Likeness (“NIL”) deals. NIL refers to a college athlete’s right to profit from the commercial use of their name, image, and likeness as part of their personal brand. Prior to 2021, student-athletes were prohibited from entering into agreements that allowed them to profit from their fame. The World Trade Center attacks on September 11th, 2001, had a drastic impact on American culture across many different mediums. Among those impacted, first responders experienced intense responsibilities beyond the bounds of typical expectation and training, putting them particularly at risk for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. PTSD in first responders is often examined on a wide scale, where all types of responder roles are compared to the general population or within their individual groups.
