Although rural advocacy is widely recognized as important to community change, the experiences of rural and frontier advocates, particularly in regard to their use of storytelling to support skill acquisition, relational trust, and asset-focused advocacy competencies, have been understudied. The purpose of this constructivist grounded theory qualitative study was to understand how rural and frontier community advocates describe their experiences and how sharing lived experiences may inform advocacy competency development. Background STIs or sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are consequential public health emergencies that affect millions of people globally and have long-term health implications (Garcia et al., 2024). STIs are infections that are passed from one person to another through sexual contact with the most common types of STIs include chlamydia, trichomoniasis, general herpes, and human papillomavirus (HPV). Suicide risk assessment is a high-priority nursing safety responsibility in outpatient behavioral health. The practice gap was a variation in nurses’ knowledge of validated suicide screening, direct inquiry, risk escalation, referral, and related documentation expectations working in an outpatient behavioral health clinic located on the Eastern Atlantic Coast. To address this problem, I developed, implemented, and evaluated a staff education program on a standardized suicide risk assessment. The practice question focused on whether staff knowledge increased following participation in the education program. Ten nursing staff members participated in a 60-minute education program. Pretest and posttest questionnaires included 20 multiple-choice questions. …

Rural clinics continue to face several barriers in utilizing advanced electronic health record (EHR) features, including interoperability, data sharing, and care coordination. The purpose of this integrative review was to investigate strategies to overcome barriers to the use of advanced EHRs and enhance data-sharing and reporting capabilities in rural clinics. The review question emphasized viable strategies for overcoming barriers to advanced EHR utilization and enhancing data-sharing and reporting capabilities in rural clinics. The consolidated framework for implementation research provided a conceptual model for understanding the various facets of EHR optimization. Summary Patient education delivered without a standardized communication protocol for patients with serious mental illness (SMI), especially for those who face disproportionate health literacy deficits, cognitive challenges, and stigma, may increase the risk of medication misunderstanding and non-adherence. An outpatient psychiatric practice lacked a standardized patient education protocol. The separation of 1,3-butadiene from pyrolysis-derived C₄ fractions represents a challenging task due to the multicomponent nature of the feed and the close boiling points of accompanying hydrocarbons. In this study, a two-stage extractive distillation process was investigated using an acetonitrile–water solvent system to address these challenges. A semi-industrial experimental unit consisting of two extractive distillation columns connected in series was developed and analyzed, and the process configuration was supported by Aspen Plus simulation. The feedstock composition was characterized in detail, revealing that 1,3-butadiene constitutes approximately 40 wt.% of the C₄ fraction, accompanied by significant amounts of propylene, butanes, butanes, …

In this article, based on the theory of lumped-parameter circuits, algebraic and differential equations describing the mechanical, electrical, and magnetic circuits of new magnetoelastic acceleration transducers, their analytical solutions, as well as mathematical models establishing the relationship between the electromotive forces at the outputs of the transducers and acceleration, which is the input quantity of the transducer, have been developed. The paper addresses the problem of joint estimation of the directly unmeasurable states of a dynamic object and of external disturbances when information is available only on the control inputs and on the measured output signals. To solve this problem, a robust-adaptive algorithm based on an augmented Kalman filter is proposed, in which the external disturbance is included in the extended state vector. Two operating modes of the algorithm are considered. The paper considers the issues of combined synthesis of a control system for a nonlinear dynamic object. The combined synthesis algorithms are based on the hybrid application of the theory of ordinary differential equations in the Cauchy form and the theory of automatic control. In this case, the dynamics of the control system are described in the input-output representation and by state-space equations. Although classical fuzzy logic controllers are capable of modelling non-linear control systems, they fail to consider the reliability of linguistic information, sensor measurements, and expert knowledge. In this paper, an intelligent controller based on the use of Z-numbers is developed for steam-turbine throttle control. Linguistic information and its confidence degree are considered simultaneously in such a controller. This paper builds on our earlier radial basis function network with multiple connections (RBFMC) by placing it within a fuzzy inference framework for nonlinear system identification. The idea is inspired by the diversity of neurotransmitters found in biological neurons: instead of a single hidden-to-output weight, RBFMC gives each hidden unit a multi-dimensional connection whose components act as independent filters. Once fuzzy logic is added, each hidden neuron becomes a fuzzy rule, and its antecedent is built from several Gaussian membership functions, one per connection. This study introduces an enhanced decision-support framework that integrates the Fuzzy Delphi method with the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to improve controller tuning and performance evaluation in uncertain environments. Traditional tuning techniques typically depend on crisp expert judgments and deterministic performance indices; however, industrial control systems are characterized by nonlinear behaviors, uncertain parameter variations, and subjective expert evaluations that are often vague or inconsistent. Unintentional falls are a leading cause of injury among preschool children, primarily occurring in home environments, yet validated tools to assess household fall prevention capacity in low- and middle-income countries remain limited. This study aimed to develop and psychometrically validate the Home-Based Preschool Fall Prevention Instrument using the Rasch Measurement Model. Malocclusion is a prevalent oral health problem in children associated with oral bad habits, yet the extent to which parental and child knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) influence orthodontic status remains insufficiently understood. This cross-sectional study investigated relationships between parental and child KAP, oral habits, and malocclusion in school-aged children, involving 67 child–parent pairs from an elementary school in Surabaya, Indonesia. Multimorbidity remains a major public health challenge among stroke patients, particularly in agro-coastal communities characterized by socioeconomic vulnerability, limited healthcare access, and lifestyle changes. This study aimed to analyze the determinants of multimorbidity among stroke patients in agro-coastal communities. A quantitative observational analytical design was employed, involving 45 stroke patients selected through total sampling in Jember District, Indonesia. Data were collected through structured interviews, anthropometric measurements, and secondary health records. The model included biological, socioeconomic, healthcare access, and lifestyle as exogenous variables, with multimorbidity as the endogenous variable. Adolescent fertility remains a public health concern in Indonesia, with substantial variations across provinces. However, the evidence explaining provincial disparities using population-level indicators remains limited. This study aimed to examine provincial disparities in adolescent fertility and assess the association of child marriage, median age at first marriage among women, and the Family Development Index called iBangga with adolescent fertility across Indonesia. This ecological, cross-sectional study used aggregated data from 34 Indonesian provinces. Early-life nutrition is a critical predictor of long-term health, yet the association between rapid early-childhood growth and adolescent obesity, particularly in relation to the “double burden of malnutrition,” remains under-researched in Indonesia. This study aimed to analyze the association between rapid growth and adolescent obesity. Data were obtained from the 1997, 2000, and 2014 waves of the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS). This study developed a system dynamics model to simulate stunting reduction in West Sumatra Province, Indonesia, by integrating infant and toddler health, maternal health, and environmental determinants. Secondary data from 2020–2024 on low birth weight, immunization, malnutrition, exclusive breastfeeding, maternal chronic energy deficiency, iron and folic acid supplement distribution, sanitation, and safe drinking water access were compiled from West Sumatra Provincial Health Office and Statistics Indonesia, and validated through consultation with five stakeholder institutions. Education policy research aimed at eliminating racism necessitates methodological innovation that fosters both racial equity–centered approaches and robust empirical analysis of the systemic and structural nature of racism. Most quantitative research in educational psychology does not account for racism in its modeling, thereby obscuring the racialized environments in which students learn (DeCuir-Gunby & Schutz, 2014; Strunk & Andrzejewski, 2023). Growing attention to father absence and limited paternal involvement in Indonesia highlights the importance of professional and supportive practices in early childhood education (ECE). This study examines how male ECE teachers respond professionally to children whom they understand to experience father absence or limited paternal involvement. Using a qualitative case study design, the study involved 13 male ECE teachers from 13 institutions in South Kalimantan. In March 2024, the large containership ``Dali'' suffered a blackout and complete loss of propulsion and steering while outbound from the Port of Baltimore, USA. The vessel was proceeding at about 9 knots in the critical approach channel to the Francis Scott Key Bridge and subsequently allided with the bridge support [\citealpbib6].
