BACKGROUND: Perceived health competence is a construct encompassing individuals’ confidence in managing their health and health-related behaviors. The 8-item Perceived Health Competence Scale (PHCS-8), developed to measure this construct, has established psychometric properties including test-retest reliability and predictive validity for health behaviors and clinical outcomes. We aimed to validate the 2-item Perceived Health Competence Scale (PHCS-2), an abbreviated version of the PHCS-8, for use in clinical and research settings where respondent burden is a primary concern. Endometriosis is a gynecological pathology prevalent in reproductive age women in which the inner uterine wall (endometrium) grows outside as ectopic lesions. The inflammation resulting from these growing implants closely associates with disease severity, causing chronic pain and infertility. Emerging studies have found altered bacterial communities in endometriosis and a causal role for gut bacteria in endometriosis. However, the role of the gut mycobiome, i.e., the fungal component of the microbiome in endometriosis is a current knowledge gap that needs to be addressed. Overlapping clinical symptoms between people with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) and those with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (PwNMOSD) can result in misdiagnosis. Large language models, such as ChatGPT, offer accessible tools for preliminary health guidance. We assessed the accuracy of open-access (GPT-3.5) and subscription-based (GPT-4) models in diagnosing MS and NMOSD, and the influences of key diagnostic inflection points (initial MRI findings and aquaporin-4 (AQP4) antibody testing) and subject demographics on model performance. PwMS and PwNMOSD were retrospectively identified within a single academic center, and structured clinical timelines were processed through GPT-3.5 and GPT-4. Purpose – This study aims to address the limited understanding of how leadership brand authenticity (LBA) translates into employee and customer outcomes in Islamic banking, a sector where ethical alignment and trust are critical but underexplored in existing literature. Specifically, it explores how LBA influences role clarity and customer responsiveness. PURPOSE: Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNST) are highly aggressive sarcomas with poor prognosis. The enzyme methylthioadenosine phosphorylase (MTAP) is lost in ∼25% to 50% of MPNSTs, which is associated with loss of the tumor suppressor gene CDKN2A. Inhibition of PRMT5 was found to be synthetically lethal in cells with MTAP loss due to accumulation of the substrate methylthioadenosine (MTA), an endogenous PRMT5 inhibitor. TNG908 and TNG462 are clinical-stage MTA-cooperative PRMT5 inhibitors that demonstrate selectivity for MTAP-deleted (null) cells over MTAP-proficient [wild-type (WT)] cells. Both compounds drive durable tumor regressions in various cancer xenograft models with MTAP loss.

This thesis examines and analyzes the interpretation of international treaties and agreements in the legal system of the United Arab Emirates, focusing in particular on the jurisdiction granted to the Federal Supreme Court in this area. It aims to clarify the legal nature of interpretation claims, the procedures related to them, and the impact of the rulings issued in this regard, in light of the UAE Constitution and recent legislative developments, particularly Federal Decree-Law No. (33) of 2022.

Potential evapotranspiration (PET) exhibits substantial spatial and temporal variability across large landscapes, necessitating site-specific estimation for accurate environmental and water resource assessments. However, obtaining PET or ET data for specific locations across an entire state remains challenging due to the limited number of weather stations and associated environmental datasets. This study aimed to develop an automated geospatial modeling framework to map PET distribution across South Carolina, USA, using PET estimated by the temperature-based Hargreaves–Samani (H–S) method with daily weather data from 59 NOAA stations.
